As advertised. House is right in the beach. Two large bedrooms for adults. Room to sleep for kids. Very well stocked, including beach chairs, a kayak, various beach tents, and a beach cart. Everything you need for some on vacation. Definitely will book again

We loved our 5 day stay at the Mission House. It was a beautiful home and very spacious and accommodating for our family. We enjoyed our daily time on the beach and in the ocean.
The views were amazing and the neighbors were all so kind.
Gunnar was great as usual and quick to reply to any messages. He even called us on our way down to check on our arrival and to offer suggestions. One restaurant recommendation that we really enjoyed was for Raas in Lewes! Amazing food!
Love every second and hope to come back next summer!

Everything was very clean and smelled very clean when we walked in. Location was excellent, a short walk over the berm to the beach that was much less occupied than others we have been to. Being able to wash up when we got back with the outside hose area was great. Shared beach amenities (wagon, toys, inflatable, shovels) were very nice. Private garage and parking was also much better than other locations. Very nice home and quiet neighborhood at the end of a road. Kid friendly. We are hoping this place is still available when we book next time!

We absolutely loved staying at this house! It was the perfect house for our family to spend the week. Our children are almost 6, almost 3, and 2 months. We didn’t stay close to the water last year and we regretted it big time. I cannot explain how nice it was to be steps away from the beach!
The house was very nice and very clean! It had everything we needed and more. The host was very responsive. The neighborhood is quiet and we felt like celebrities while at the beach because of the privacy it offered! Also, staying bay side was great for the kids since the waves are very small; we couldn’t get our two oldest ones out of the water!
We visited the Rehoboth boardwalk twice while there and also went to Dogfish Head Brewery! We had dinner one night at Thompson Island which was very family friendly! Easy drives to all!
We will definitely be booking this property again!

It was just what we needed! The beach right down the street and much less crowded than ocean side but a nice evening drive if you wanted to get to the boardwalk. Able to enjoy the water and the beach with younger kids right out our back door. Easy access to get back inside and a great little neighborhood to walk! The layout of the house was spacious and has a great main area for hanging out together. Would highly recommend as a nice calm beach getaway for families!

Gorgeous house with all the amenities. Very child friendly ( possibly excepting stairs for very small ones) and extremely appealing design and convenience for adults. So many areas to lounge, including top terrace w view of the beach. Beds very comfortable. Water at the beach warm! Beach so perfect for children and fascinating to see all the horseshoe crabs coming in every evening. It’s a sanctuary for them. Adorable little neighborhood store walkable along the beach —excellent takeaway pizza! Host extremely accommodating and responsive. Cannot recommend more highly!

Very clean house. Literally has everything, down to the beach cart and a kayak, no need to bring anything extra. Good AC. Very pleasant neighbors. Literally 200 feet to the beach.

This was a truly lovely house in a very magical location - complete with view of the ocean just a short walk over the dunes. The house was immaculate, well appointed and extremely comfortable, with plenty of space. We are already talking about going back soon!

WOW!!!! What an amazing week. I'll try to keep this as short as possible but will most definitely fail.
We arrived saturday afternoon and were totally impressed. Clean, spacious and well appointed home. We unlaoded the car and headed out to the beach for a stroll. Not overcrowded at all for a saturday(nor was it ever crowded all week)afternoon.
We did an online grocery order at food lion in milton and picked it up. We were good to go for the week.
Broadkill store has good donuts on the weekends(best to pre order) Picked some up on sunday morning. The next door neighbors are awesome. Our boys had so much fun running and playing with their dogs on the beach. We went to rehoboth, lewes and the outlets during the week. Traffic can be heavy. Broadkill and Mission beach house are something I wish I would have discovered sooner. The owners are great and are always quick to respond should you have a question. We will definitely be back. Thanks for all the memories.
ps The on demand hot water dispenser on the kitchen counter is a game changer to preheat your ceramic coffee mug. I didn't know I needed that in my life.

Awesome house, great location. Gunnar is extremely responsive and helpful with all our needs. This was a quiet beach that was not overcrowded. Def would come back if we visit the area again.

Enjoyed a week at the beach even with mother nature taking a couple days away due to winds and rain. The house was large, clean, and fantastic views. Right on what feels like a private beach due to limited number of houses and no public parking except for the Broadkill store. Took advantage of close distance to Lewes and the Cape on the rainy days. The owner is very responsive and nice. We will be returning for our next beach trip when possible.

Very clean, comfortable, house, right on the beach. The owner was terrific and very responsive. He even let us stay later on our checkout day! The screened in garage door was perfect to assemble and disassemble our beach stuff without getting eaten by mosquitoes. Master bed faces the ocean so you wake up with the sunrise over the waves.

Loved everything about this house!! My favorite part is that the beach is private and there’s hardly anyone ever there! We went to nearby beaches that were insanely busy and just came right back after 15 mins. We will definitely be back next year!!

We have been coming to Broadkill for many years, and really appreciated this new location for our family to stay. Extremely comfortable and well maintained.

We loved our stay at Gunnar and Dorothy's house. It was an easy walk onto the beach and the house had everything we needed. We particularly liked the upstairs space to relax and play games together. There were a couple minor issues at the start of our stay and Gunnar worked to resolve them quickly, going above and beyond to make sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible.

Host was great, very helpful with making our stay memorable. The house is beautiful and clean!! The owner was very caring and helped us with places we can go! My family and I had an amazing time and would love to stay here again next year!

We love staying at this house. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable.
The kitchen is well equipped and easy to cook in with a couple people.
The owners are quick to reply to any questions and supply helpful information.
There are beach supplies and bicycles for use by renters.

Beautiful Home
This home is beautiful. Very comfortable. Love the king beds. Has lots of stuff available to keep everyone happy. Great kitchen. Several living areas so everyone can spread out. So close to the beach. Hopefully will return another time. Host was great too. Responded quickly to my questions and even checked in with me during our stay.

Great stay in Broadkill
We had a wonderful trip. The house was lovely and had all the comforts of home. The communication with Gunnar was superb. Great location and our family enjoyed riding the bikes morning and night. Definitely would stay here again. Until next time.

Even better than advertised
The pictures don't do this property justice! The house was immaculately clean, elegantly furnished, and well stocked with all the supplies you might need for a beach getaway. It was a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach, which was sparsely populated. A quiet and calm getaway, perfect for those who do NOT like the hustle of the busy oceanside beaches, but still close enough to drive into town to get food, go on outings, etc. Full disclosure: there were 2 neighboring houses that are under construction at the time of this writing. The workers are there all day during the week, usually starting around 8:30am and working till 5:30pm-ish. The immediate vicinity around the houses looks a bit like a construction zone. You still have access to the beach path to get to the beach, you might just have to walk around some construction supplies and trucks. We actually didn't find it loud or disruptive at all. I didn't take off any stars from my review because the situation is not within the property owner's control, but just wanted to mention it so others know what to expect when they go.

This house is in a peaceful and relaxing spot on a quiet beach. We enjoyed the home very much. It is well appointed and beautifully finished. The owner was helpful and prompt in replying to my messages. Highly recommend!

Perfect family vacation
This home was perfect for our family with young kids. The close access to the beach was very convenient and the home had every amenity you could possibly need- including a baby pool and sand toys which the kids loved. The donuts and sticky buns at the nearby Broadkill store were a great hit as well. The hosts were very communicative and provided a great overview of the area which was very helpful. We hope to be back next year!

Terrific house!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this house. Gunnar was always quick to respond with answers to any questions and just an all around good guy. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The walk to the beach was very short and easy, and the beach area was never crowded. The TVs and WiFi system were easy to use and we loved being able to connect our phone and play our music throughout the house. Our 6 year old loved playing bocce ball in the back yard. Extremely happy with this house and plan to book again in the future!

Perfect week at the beach!
I would agree with all other reviews that this home is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway to Broadkill Beach! My husband, 5yo son, father-in-law and sister-in-law stayed for a week in August 2021. The home is completely equipped for anything and everything you need while there. The house was exceptionally clean and the amenities made us feel spoiled. The kitchen offers high end appliances and is fully stocked. The bathrooms were recently updated and my father-in-law said he was going to go buy a shower head exactly like the one there (it was that good!). The speakers throughout the house were fantastic and you don’t need to bring a thing for the beach besides sunscreen and a towel. We also loved the super friendly neighbors, Phil and Bill, and their lovable golden retriever, Adam (my son REALLY loved Adam!). I can’t say enough good things about this house. We certainly hope to be back again soon! Thanks, Gunnar for a great week!

Loved being close to beach the kids were able to walk back and forth as needed. The view is awesome and the water was perfect for little swimmers no rough waves! So easy lazy days of vacation!! Just wonderful!

Amazing trip again! Third stay.
We had our third amazing stay in a property owned by the Barrs. The house was incredible, immaculately clean, with plenty of amenities that made it feel special, such as the top end kitchen appliances and beautiful showers. We loved the addition of the full sized washer and dryer and the outdoor shower this year. The surrounding towns are adorable with plenty of great restaurants. If you are a family traveling and have any worry about a medical facility nearby, we even had the pleasure of visiting Bayshore Hopsital when a child needed medical attention and they were incredible. Thank you for having us again!

Gorgeous house!
The house was exactly as described in pictures. Clean, updated, spacious, comfortable. The owner responded quickly to all of my questions. House situated in a quiet beach town neighborhood. Our only complaint has nothing to do with the owner but Mother Nature….wayyyy too many green flies on the beach. It made it unbearable at times as we were getting bitten the entire time sitting there even with using bug spray. We were there during a heat wave so that may have been the reason why. Other than the flies, I would recommend staying here.

Peaceful and quiet gem
This was our second time returning to this property because we loved it so much the first time. My son who is 7 remembered that it only took 2 minutes to walk to the beach from the home and loved coming back. Extremely clean as always and very well stocked!! Can enjoy morning sunrises with ease from your room or by taking a walk steps away. Our family plan to return yearly if possible!
