This place is delightful. It is right on the beach and you can wake up to the sound of the pacific. The owner, Angela, is lovely and welcoming.

Best vacation rental I've ever had.

Our stay at Stinson Beach was incredible. Angela is such a gracious host, even coming out to meet us when we arrived very late the first night. It was wonderful having a dedicated parking spot as space is much in demand and the neighbors are quite protective.
The home itself is a dream. The master bedroom, living room, and kitchen look out over the ocean and I felt myself soaking up the peace the entire time we were in the house. It literally could not be more oceanfront- at high tide, the water comes up under the raised deck. The beach is beautiful and very walkable, and our little dog was in heaven running around and chasing the waves with all the other sweet doggies. There is a library, two restaurants, and a small but well-stocked grocery store within walking distance. San Francisco is about 25 minutes away and a Napa Valley about one hour, so very easy to make day trips.
The only consideration I’d give is if someone has extreme vertigo/fear of heights or has mobility challenges. The road to the cottage snakes up and down narrow, winding mountain roads and to access the home itself, it’s necessary to walk about 20 feet across the sand and then up two short flights of wooden stairs (~ten steps).
I couldn’t imagine a lovelier, more perfectly mismatched, comfortable beach house and I’m a little embarrassed to admit I cried when we had to leave. We very much hope to return, and have two friends who are already planning stays there based on our raving!

Check-in process was a nightmare. First there are contradicting processes. In one place is says check-in is at 3pm, in another place it says 3:30. Whatever, no big deal we played it safe (so we though), arrived at 3:30 and that’s when the problems began. Doors locked, no key given. Reached out to host via chat, no reply. Called host via number provided, no answer, left voicemail, no reply. Called VRBO directly who attempted to also reach out the host. Once again, no answer, no reply. We are now close to 5pm (that’s right, 1.5 hours later) my wife and I said, screw it and decide just to head home. I was actually already walking away from the property when I noticed there was someone in the adjacent unit. Oh look, it is the host just going about her day. I got her attention by yelling out “ARE YOU THE HOST?” at which point she came out of her unit and handed us the keys. No apologies, no offers to make things right, nothing. Just gave us the key and went back in her home. It’s only saving grace is the location. I would have loved to be able to use this place for a future beach trip but I don’t think I want to deal with the uncertainty of actually being able to get into the property. I am not sure if the host just got home around 5pm because I only reason I looked into her unit was because the lights on when there were no lights on earlier. If I didn’t happen to look back at the property as I was walking away we would have had to make the multi-hour drive home.

Thank you Angela for a magical place to stay and enjoy the beach!

Wonderful location, kind, responsive host.

Dame Rubin made our stay special and memorable as always.....!!

First the good news: It is beach-front, with a million-dollar view from the eating table and the large deck overlooking the surf and private beach. The bad news: you have to walk across that private beach to get to the place, and you have to park the car about half a block away. It is small, with a tiny bathroom accessible only by entering the second bedroom. There is no washer or dryer -- you have to go to the laundromat in Bolinas.

We had a really good time and would love to come back.

Cozy beach cottage with 5 star views and one star amenities - no hand soap, dish soap, dishcloths, washcloths, beach towels, etc. I had to request toilet paper and soap from the property owner. Basically BYO everything if you plan to stay here as supplies in town are extremely expensive

Stinson Beach can’t be beat when the sun shines in late Spring. This funky little place is well appointed and right on the water. Perfect, we loved it.

This delightful oceanfront cottage is all you need for a tranquil and rejuvenating vacation. You wake and sleep with the sound of the waves from the bedroom nook (comfy double bed). A high table by the window is where you eat your meals or read a book if you don’t dine on the ample deck. The view from all these places is mesmerizing. There is a large sofa and chair in the main room for reading or watching TV. The house is on stilts in the sand and is just steps to the sea.
There is a charming second room with two single beds. We stayed here during a windy few days and the location of this cottage was a life saver - it’s protected from the wind and has a private area of sand in the front where you can lie out or play beach games far from anyone else. It is a truly magical place and we have already booked our next stay. Thank you, Angela!

Property is right on the beach with 2 big windows facing the ocean. Stunning views. The unit is attached to owner's home but she was very quiet and helpful when necessary. The unit is quite old and worn but very clean. It's cold at night but the wood fireplace warms everything quite nicely and there are 2 electric heaters. You need your own wood. Ants invade if there is any food out so everything has to be in the fridge. The owner was very gracious and I enjoyed meeting her.

I want to keep this place hidden so I can come back from time to time! But it’s so Amazing that I need to write a review.
Angela the host is amazing and such a sweet lady.
The house is perfect and was perfect for my family of 4. Stayed out on the beach all day and came in to cook dinner at night. Walked to town for ice cream most nights. The town is close and we walked everywhere for 7 days. The restaurant is pricy but great. We had the snack bar many times. Love the stores down town and the market has everything you need. This place is perfect and the beach is the best beach around. Sitting on the patio watching the waves was the best thing we needed. I would stay forever if I could! The seals would come by around 7, you can watch them from the house. Thank you Angela, for this perfect trip for my family! Hope to see you again!

Loved the location! Parking A little confusing but other than That It was wonderful. SMall Problem with ants But House was very clean!

We enjoyed our stay at the beach, especially the deck right on the sand. We were so fortunate to have beautiful sunny days and were able to take long walks on the beach and just soak up the sun and ocean views on the deck. Hot water is in short supply so showers have to be quick. Kitchen is small, but adequate.

Our stay in this very cute beach property was well worth it. The host was very sweet and had two very cute dogs. We took in great views of the water and beach, has a nice deck, a wonderful fireplace and open floor plan. However, the beds could be a bit more comfortable. So for short trips this was an amazing experience.

We had a wonderful rainy weekend here! I love a rainy day at the beach hearing and watching the waves crashing from the bedroom! We loved walking to a restaurant down the beach, great location!

Great 3 nights right on beach and walking distance to town. Everything we could want in and outside the cottage. We and our dog loved watching birds and other dogs walking and running by. Look forward to returning.

The location was amazing. There were so many things that the owner could have improved upon for very little money. Start with a door mat that allowed all the wet sand on your feet or shoes to drop through so that you're not crunching sand or sweeping it to the floorboards. The furniture, dishes and cutlery was in very poor shape. Many electrical outlets and light switches were broken or unusable with a grounded computer plug so you needed to step over extension cords to power things where you sit. I have rented from VRBO many times and as someone who takes care of other peoples spaces quite well, I was very disappointed. Other than the location, $340 a night is an insult.

Such a great place to unwind and relax! Very private and quiet! Angela was a great host with just an arrival check in to see if everything we needed was there and then left us in complete privacy to enjoy our time together. The deck was absolutely magical which made you feel on top of the world. We really enjoyed the dogs on the beach and some surfing and people watching. The place was very comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace with our bought presto logs. The bed was VERY comfortable and kitchen stocked with so many great pans that would help you enjoy a great meal. I feel this place would be extra great with another space heater in the back bedroom where the bathroom is, as it got a bit chilly back there. There were only the two of us so we had no need really to use that second bedroom. The space heater in the front bedroom was ideal for warmth at bedtime which we set on a very low setting to take the chill off. Angela's place is unique, built in the early 1900's, sweet old charm, which we love in a place. You will love it, cant get closer to the ocean and sand under your feet right down your own steps!

We had a fabulous time in this cute and comfortable beach cottage - very basic accomodations and perfect for a relaxing reunion of friends. Everything you need is there and the location is perfect.

This is our 2nd visit to Angela’s beach cottage. It’s always a wonderful stay and a great time to relax, recharge, and spend quality time as a family. Looking forward to coming back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Just plan ahead to bring things for shower, extra towels, some firewood (yes, even it’s summer) and you will sure to enjoy it. In addition to hours of fun on sandy beach and beautiful views, the nightly stargazing is amazing too!

Just what the doctor ordered. The house, although simple, met all our needs. We did hear the recommendation of previous reviewer’s and brought extra blankets. An extension cord was helpful. The woodstove really work to heat the place up. Wood is available in town, But if you have a supply at home and you’re driving it might be smart to bring some. Angela was lovely and responsive.

We would only get hot water for maybe 3-5 minutes. I found out when the water was to cold to rinse soap off. I had to wipe
my off soap with a towel.
The view is spectacular 10 stars for view.

This property is a gem and the perfect get away during the pandemic or anytime. So relaxing to hear waves crashing. Great place to telework or just relax and whale watch.

Thank you Angela for offering this beautiful experience to the public. A storm happened to blow in on the days of our reservation. The ocean in your backyard is amazing. The tide even went under our patio. Our boys played for hours in the sand and we could see them right next to us from the window. The fireplace was so cozy and heated the entire house. I get cold very easy so was worried but it was perfect. We brought some of our own firewood and when we ran out we were able to buy some from the local store. The wifi worked great and we had no problems distance learning with our children. There was only one restaurant that we could find that was open. www.parksidecafe.com You can call and order from the restaurant or go and order in person from the cafe or Snack Bar. We found the food at the snack bar was much tastier and less expensive than the restraunt. The pastries at the cafe are so delicious and unique! What can I say, even in the worst weather this was just what our family needed. If you are looking for a simple getaway where you can't help just to relax and stare at the beautiful ocean waves constantly this is the perfect place. We will definitely be back. Thank again Angela for everything! You were very welcoming and caring.

Perfect spot, and dog allowed, so that’s most of the ballgame for us. But, be prepared to bring your own of many essentials like beach towels, soap, firewood, sharp knife, measuring cup, dog bowls, extra blankets.

One could not ask for a more perfect location for a visit to Stinson Beach. Stepping off the deck stairs right onto the beach immediately transports you away into the beauty of the sand and ocean. Our 10-year-old daughter spent countless hours playing in the sand, and we were easily able to monitor her from the deck or cottage windows. The cottage itself is cozy. If you lean towards feeling cold, bringing extra blankets is suggested. If you bring your pup(s) with you (we did), some extra towels from home make it easier to clean sandy paws! Finally, Angela, who lives next next door, was welcoming and kind.

My family was lucky enough to spend two days at this great beach home. While the weather did not serve us well the overall experience and proximity to the beach and town could not be topped. We went to sleep and woke up to the sound of the ocean. You will not find a better option beachside for the $$.
The town is within walking distance on the beach and on the road. Market has everything you would need to supplement. Food options are solid.
A couple of notes for future guests:
- You have to walk through the sand (100ish feet or so) to get to the home
- Parking is down the alley although we were able to un/load at the rental
- the oven is on the small side so don’t bring a frozen pizza with you for dinner 😉
- I’m sure it’s in the listing (and it wasn’t a problem for us just mentioning) the bathroom is in the room where our kids slept so if you have light sleepers that could be an issue, and there is no tub.
- There were only 4 bath towels, so if you are staying for a longer period or if you want a beach towel you should assess what to bring of your own
- outside hose was helpful for rinsing after fun in the sand
- stocked with all necessary kitchen items
- has sand toys and kids books that were a pleasant addition
It was our first time to Stinson Beach and even after two days we can’t wait to go back!
