The hut is amazing! The garden it's enclosed in is perfect trees all around many different plants/bushes, it's lit at night outside with mini string lights which go off at 10pm. It is so quiet here. Chickens might want your attention in the morning 😀. They really have thought of EVERYTHING!! you could possibly need. Literally just turn up with your clothes only and you're good to go! The hosts were both the nicest you could meet, and the other residents in the village were all really nice! If you like to walk or drive around some amazing sights or just want to hide out from the kids at home for a few days this is your hut! P.s do not worry about it being cold in the slightest as there is a log burner with everything you need to keep extremely toasty 🥵😁! Thank you both and will definitely be seeing you and the animals again very soon!

Excellent stay at the Wayside Shepheard Hut.. the hut itself is very pleasant set privately in a secluded corner of a country garden, the set up is a slightly rural feel that I liked. I enjoyed having my breakfast with the chickens...

The Wayside Shepherd’s Hut is set in the garden of a thatched cottage. The setting is gorgeous with fairy lights in the trees, and it’s clear a lot of thought has gone into the property. The host was friendly and welcoming and made sure we were settled in before leaving us to our stay. The facilities include a small fridge and freezer, 2 burner hob with a grill and oven. Although the hut is very small, it is comfortable. There seems to be everything you need to cook meals if you wish to, but there are places to eat nearby if you prefer. The bed is comfortable. The settee is snug for 2 people, but there is also a picnic table and chairs outside along with a small bench and sun loungers. Inside there is a foldaway dining table and chairs. The shower and loo is in a small separate building, and are clean and provide soap, shower gel etc. if you need them. There is also a small wood burner, but we didn’t need it as the weather was warm.

We didn’t find anything we didn’t like, but if you’re not used to camping / glamping you may find it fairly snug. It is exactly as described - a shepherd’s hut. Don’t expect a large caravan!

Well equipped. Private space in garden. Half bottle of Prosecco much appreciated. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Friendly host. Great location for Beaulieu Motor Museum which was the reason for the stay. Loved the very friendly chickens.

One burner on the hob would not light. Smaller than pictures suggested. For elderly folk who need to go to the loo in the night this was not the best place to stay as the one near the wall had to climb over the other waking up partner in the process.
