Beautiful property, condo was amazing. The rooms were very nice and spacious. View was breathtaking. Grounds are very nice and great to walk around and see

Overall unit was as advertised. It has all necessary items and was located in a beautiful spot. Our only complaint was the presence of bugs. The property manager responded quickly but we still had bugs. But I guess this is a common issue in Hawaii. The unit itself was very clean.

We had a wonderful stay with our family of four and grandparents. Condo was large and gave everyone plenty of space, and the patio is amazing. Could spend an entire vacation just relaxing on the patio looking at the ocean. Perfect for a family get together!

This property is spectacular! Do not hesitate to book this unit if it is available! Massive 3 bedroom 3 bath with gorgeous decor throughout. The patio is spectacular and the perfect place for breakfast and drinks at sunset.

We loved it! Wish there was a sturdy umbrella for the beach and the AC often didn’t work and condo would be warm. The AC kept turning off. Also, a laminated sheet with how things work would be great! Didn’t know where to put laundry soap in washer, etc.

The view of the property is outstanding. It is obvious at some point this unit was loved. That day has passed. As a direct comparison we stayed in k402 in 2018 and it was really lovely, well stocked, very clean and comfortable furnishings all the way around.
Pros: view/lanai
plenty of towels, washcloths, paper goods, dish soap, etc.
beach chairs, floats, snorkel equipment is supplied
Cons: sleeps six yet dining patio table has only 5 chairs and cupboard only has 4 mismatched wine glasses
patio furniture is very uncomfortable for relaxing and dining seat cushions are designed for different chairs. It seems like a small complaint, but oddly enough, it was quite irritating as every time you shift in your seat the cushion slides around in an obvious attempt at escaping altogether. As we spent our mornings visiting over coffee and the occasional pineapple mimosa and enjoy entertaining over lovely long dinners drinking wine (out of martinis glasses :) by the end of the week I was simply 'over it'.
If you book through another rental company other than direct through Honua Kai, you don't have access to the back entrance. It is our second time renting and we experienced it on both occasions. I believed them the first trip. This trip I didn't bother calling, though my friend called and tried to get the wristbands re-programmed to no avail. I think most people call it the 'getting the runaround'. The rental agencies act surprised and you spend the week trying different solutions. You can occasionally sneak in behind someone with a blue wristband (which I did twice) but otherwise you get to sit in traffic and wind your way through the speed bumps! LOL
I think the unit may have had a cancellation, so I got a very reduced rate. For me, I take this into account and feel that I paid a fair price.

We enjoyed 8 nights in this fabulous oceanfront condo. The place has everything you need, and then some! The master bath shower is amazing, and the beds are super comfortable. We loved opening all the lanai doors and sitting outside for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The view is spectacular! The only small issue we had was the washer-didn't drain and spin correctly, so drying clothes took forever. But, not a big deal considering the amazing trip we had!

This was our second stay at Honua Kai and we've already booked a 3rd trip here! It's such a perfect spot for families - the condo was perfect, we love the location, and the pools are perfect! This was our first time in this unit and it was fantastic for our family of four. It has a huge balcony (much bigger than most) and it also has a grill which we made good use of at meal time. Highly recommend Honua Kai, this unit, and Maui Resort Rentals!

Another amazing stay at Honua Kai!
This was our second stay at Honua Kai and we've already booked a 3rd trip here! It's such a perfect spot for families - the condo was perfect, we love the location, and the pools are perfect! This was our first time in this unit and it was fantastic for our family of four. It has a huge balcony (much bigger than most) and it also has a grill which we made good use of at meal time. Highly recommend Honua Kai, this unit, and Maui Resort Rentals!

The resort was beautiful and the villa was gorgeous! We felt spoiled in our little home away from home for our family vacation. There are a couple of things I would say as we stayed there for 11 days. The check-in process could have been easier. We had issues and our wrist bands to get into our condo didn't work so we had to wait for security to get us new keys, there were fairly quick but it had been a long trip, the resort was big and we couldn't figure out exactly where to go to get our bands in the first place and had to make a few stops to find the right place to go. We didn't have a wine opener although there was a wine fridge so maybe it left with a guest? We ran out of trash bags, there was no Tupperware or anything to wrap up our food after cooking. We ran out of laundry detergent and dish soap and paper towels, early into the trip. So I feel like they didn't supply enough. In knowing we were going to be there for an 11-day stay they should have equipped us with the proper amount of supplies for the money that we spent - over $1000 a day is a lot to be running out of supplies that we needed (should not have had to buy all of that). The pool towel locker wasn't working so we had to buy pool towels at the store which wasn't a huge deal. Duke's restaurant there was pretty bad. The food was not that great and it was very overpriced. Other than that, we truly enjoyed an amazing trip and would come back. The pools were amazing and the kids swam every day all day! I miss it already!

We absolutely loved our stay in this unit. It was bright, well decorated and had a perfect direct view of the ocean. I can’t imagine a more beautiful location. The property manager was very helpful with advance logistics and everything was seamless with our stay.

Beautiful condo - could use some minor improvements
Our family of 5 adults and 2 children enjoyed our 10-day stay and were comfortable in this unit for the duration. As other reviewers have noted, the views are amazing and we were fortunate to be here during peak whale watching season (although the palm trees blocked much of the action unfortunately...first world problems). The condo is decorated beautifully as can be seen in the photos. Some low cost/no cost improvements are needed, however, to earn a 5-star review. These include: a) couch is showing its age; b) carpet has stains; c) kitchen organization is not intuitive-we spent a lot of time opening and closing cabinet doors trying to find items; d) kitchen garbage can is so small as to be practically useless; e) patio furniture has seen better days and cushions kept blowing off in what is a typical breeze, and f) wireless speaker has a dated iPod connection and the bluetooth wouldn't work with any of our phones (android and iphone) so we missed having music during our stay.
Additional issues that are outside the owner's/property manager's control but good to be aware of include: a) periodic sewer smell from the treatment plant across the street - we didn't think an oceanfront unit would be affected, but we experienced this unpleasantness on multiple days; b) even with all the doors open and breezes blowing, the inside of the unit feels stuffy and a bit hot. Inexplicably, it seems situated in such a way as to not get the advantage of a cross breeze; c) there is only one small garbage/recycle room on each floor of this huge property, so they get very nasty and full on a daily basis. We would have appreciated having a cart stationed at the elevators for guest use (as we have seen in similar properties), as there is not an easy way to haul up groceries, etc. to the unit.
We very much appreciated use of the beach chairs, sand toys and small ice chest, and also appreciated the accessibility of the property manager. It is a beautiful area with lots to do and we enjoyed our stay. Just expected a bit more based on the rate we paid. We will look at different options on our next visit to Maui.

Overall wonderful
Really beautiful!!! Only concern was that we could not regulate the AC ourselves and after calling twice, no one came. Also I’d suggest adding one extra blanket to each bedroom.

Better than anticipated!
Better than anticipated. Layout, kitchen, bathrooms, all upscale. Beautiful views from large balconies. Perfect celebration with our children and grandchildren for our 50th Anniversary!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property manager was very responsive when we developed an issue with our refrigerator after stocking it with a weeks worth of food. The amenities were perfect for entertainment. The facilities pools and other features was superb. Great time celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and our 60th Bday’s with our family

Just returned from a week stay with 15?family members at Honea Kai in Maui. It was just as the picture portrayed. I booked through Maui Resort Rentals and they responded immediately to all my calls I would definitely recommend the rental company and resort.

Wonderful location, view, large rooms (including bedrooms and bathrooms), amenities, and appliances. Modern and everything was in great working order.
Note: No "food" supplied so if you are going to cook, will need to buy spices, herbs, condiments, etc.

Magical views and ideal location
The condo was just as we saw in the VRBO listing, so we were happy the moment we arrived. Can’t beat the kitchen and having our own grill- made meals with the whole family so easy.
The management company was also great to deal with. We requested many things off the list of available items: beach toys, rollaway bed, pack and play, high chair, etc and everything was here when we arrived! It made traveling with two kids under 3 way easier!
The only thing we would say the enhance is the furniture. The mattresses and couch are a due soon for a revamp, but otherwise it was perfect

Beautiful relaxing property!!
This property is amazing!! The condo was immaculate and stocked with every thing we needed. At one point we ran out of trashbags and all I had to do is make one call and later that day trash bags were there for our use! Sitting on the lanai was so comfortable and we had great views of the sunsets every night! We could see whales jumping from our lanai every morning and every evening. Our kids loved the pools and although it rained several times during our vacation there was still so much to do. The condo provided chairs for the beach, a cooler and even snorkeling equipment for our use. Since we live so far away the washer and dryer were great amenities for us. We would stay here again. And highly recommend it for anyone who needs a three bedroom condo with a beautiful view of the ocean!

Beyond amazing!
Everything about this unit and Honua Kai is wonderful! The unit is so beautiful and spacious 10/10!! Furnishings are beautiful, modern and comfortable; and the decor is beautiful. Our family of 6 had plenty of room - huge bedrooms, bathrooms and closets. It has everything you need in the kitchen, for the beach and Maui Resort rentals gives you a starter kit for the bathrooms and the kitchen, which was actually plenty for the week. The view from our unit was spectacular! We watched whales everyday from our lanai. It was great to have the doors open and listen to the ocean every day.
The resort is like a 4-star hotel! It is so pretty and well cared for, great amenities, wonderful pools and great beaches. We loved the towel borrowing kiosks throughout the resort. All the shops there had most everything you would need in a pinch - also a little souvenir shopping. Having Duke's Beach House on the premises was also great. Hula Pie!!
Maui Resort Rentals was great to work with. They were very quick to return phone calls and take care of any problems. One complaint I have is that the dishwasher was problematic and didn't get dishes that clean.

Gorgeous view and wonderful layout
This was our 4th stay at Honua Kai and first time in this unit, by far our favorite thus far. The location of the unit was fantastic and was wonderful to have such a large lanai for entertaining. I would recommend this unit to any family who is searching for the perfect location on the property. My only suggestion would be to have furniture cleaned and area rug in main living area cleaned as well. Light furniture showed the wear and tear.

Beautiful property, nicely decorated, comfortable
Our party of 8 had a great time here. The condo is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, including the beds. It is well stocked with dishes and utensils. There was no salt and pepper, oil or pot holders but Maui Resort Rentals was quick to bring those items to us. There were also boogie boards, beach chairs and a cooler for use. We also appreciated using the shuttle provided by Maui Resort Rentals. Calvin, the driver, was very nice and full of awesome suggestions. The wrap around patio has huge doors that fully open to bring the outside in. There is a bbq, dining table and couch for use as well.

Stunning property!
Beautiful location to cook in and eat on lanai! Washer and dryer are apartment sized and thus you can only wash/ dry 3 to 4 beach towels at once. Kind of pain since you want dry towels everyday. The unit is beautiful otherwise.

Amazing Location, Amazing Rental
The condo was incredible! The kitchen was so well stocked and we were grateful to not have to buy every little thing like salt, etc. It was in immaculate shape and the furnishings were pretty. The view was the absolute best!!!!!

From every step along the way Vacasa maui, was very professional and prompt with-there customer service. Not only was there price very competitive , but they did not sacrafice customer service. We just returned from our Maui trip. Everyone was very happy with the accommodations at our condo. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. The condo was clean and very spacious. We escpecially enjoyed the large balcony. Would definitely return to this unit.
