This property is a hidden gem on Lake Winnipesaukee. Unique and special in every sense, this was our second year staying on Pixie Island. Not only did the property not disappoint, it seemed even better than last year. Private and relaxing, it is still close to many amenities, and the location affords easy travel to Meredith and other Winnipesaukee destinations. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the house had everything we needed.

Perfect island getaway. Breathtaking views… it doesn’t get better than Pixie. Adults and kids enjoyed our stay.

Open the gate, cross the footbridge and leave the real world behind as you enter Pixie Island! Very clean, beautiful views, spacious and something for everyone. Small beach perfect for little ones, fishing off the dock, swimming, boating, fire pit s’mores by the water and so many places to relax and unwind lakeside. Close to shopping, Weirs Beach and local attractions. Many memories made during our stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Pixie Island! The property offers amazing views and privacy. It perfectly accommodated 7 adults (our single daughter loved staying in the bunk house!) The grandchildren loved the beach area where they could walk into the water and the dock space was great for our boat. We sat around the fire each night enjoying the family and the serenity of the lake. The house had everything we needed and the owners are wonderfully accommodating! We hope to return soon!

This property is unique and thoroughly enjoyable. Our mouths dropped when we first walked across the footbridge to the island and then opened the door to one of the best and most private views of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Great gathering spot for a family vacation at Winnipesaukee. Quieter than expected mainly due to it being an island and little bit isolated from the neighbors. Clean and well appointed.

We had a wonderful family vacation to our favorite lake. Communication was very easy prior and during our stay. The house is LOVELY. quality finishes and attention to detail. Beds were very comfortable. Guest house was a nice option to have as well. The docks beach hammock and patio were wonderful. WiFi and systems were top notch and easy. My son loves swimming and climbing on the rocks. A beautiful lake view and very enjoyable vacation. Have recommended the property to friends and am hoping to return next summer.

This beautiful property offers both shallow and deep swimming areas. Nice outdoor music system and a/c were key.

A relaxing and enjoyable time at a perfect secluded location. All lake activities were enjoyed by all and the beautiful sunsets complimented the evening campfires. It was the perfect family retreat. The home had everything for a perfect stay. Everyone wants to come back again

We’ve stayed in various houses in the Meredith area, and this was by far one of the best. The unique island setting coupled with the well appointed, comfortable house makes this a truly exceptional Winnipesaukee vacation experience. Truly, the owners have thought of every detail and were promptly responsive when we asked for additional bath towels. What stood out most, among many things, is that the owners love the house and island and treat both with great care. This isn’t always the case with vacation rental properties. We are definitely thinking of coming back next year!

This house was fantastic. The views are fantastic and the location is perfect. You are right in Paugus bay and right down the street from weirs beach which is where you want to be. It was very clean and comfortable and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again!

We had a beautifully relaxing and memorable week. We totally enjoyed the privacy of Pixie island and had a blast playing in the lake.

Went for a get away to spend time as a family with my five grandchildren. They loved that the property had to be reached by a bridge. Had everything we could of wanted and more, firepit, docks, row boat, beach, hammock, outdoor dining table, and rocks to climb on. We all came home and said we had a blast!

We absolutely loved our stay at Pixie Island. It is truly a unique property. Well appointed, surrounded by water, and really special outdoor spaces to take in views of the lake.

We are grandparents that took on the task of sitting for our two granddaughters ages 8 and 4 while their parents were to take a tenth anniversary trip. The girls were offered a choice between an ocean experience, Disney World or A Winnipesaukee vacation. The girls had a lot of requirements including a sandy beach and a good swimming location. After picking a lake vacation, the parents trip was cancelled and we had two additional adults. Pixie Island did not disappoint. The girls had a great time. Most meals were outside on the large granite table and the view was terrific. We stayed at the little island for the entire week and there was little need to venture out with the exception of an evening lake tour with Captain Bill, a displaced Bostonian who has a sightseeing boat. I have a personal connection to this location, as my grandfather built it for his wife and children as a retreat camp. I am happy to say that it has retained all of its charm and privacy while, at the same time, staying current with modern amenities. This is not a luxurious place, by any stretch, but rather peaceful and calming and fun, with a large open deck, private (small but usable) beach, and dock big enough for most boats on the lake. I will keep coming back as long as it retains the look and feel of the original retreat.

We absolutely loved our stay at Pixie Island! We had never rented on the Lake before, so we were a bit in the dark on how to go about choosing a location. Turns out we chose the perfect spot! The house sits on its own little private island, with an incredible view of the lake. So peaceful! To access the house there is a walking bridge from the mainland to the island. It’s a short walk, so not an issue. There are three parking spots on the mainland to use, and a good size wagon to help move your luggage to the house. The house is just as the pictures show on-line. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The AC works great! There is a small, separate building that houses the fourth bedroom. The building looks like a small cabin and is located just next door to the main house. We weren't sure how that would work out, but it was just fine. Just like the main house, the room is decorated nicely, clean and comfortable. And yes, it too is air conditioned. The living room was a bit smaller than what we are used to for our group (4 adults and 4 kids, ages between 17-23), but we managed. We spent most of our time outdoors, but when it rained, we had had enough room to hang out in the family room and play games. The owners were very responsive. While there, I texted them twice with questions. They responded within minutes.

Spent a great week on Pixie Island with two families, including five kids between 10 and 16 yrs old. It's a great combination of feeling very private while on the island, yet being convenient to stores, restaurants, marinas, etc. The multiple outdoor seating areas all offer beautiful views of Paugus Bay. It's a very relaxing and peaceful place to sit outside with your coffee or cocktail. Paugus is a great area to tube / water ski, especially during the week. The rocks in the lake in front of the house both enhance the view, as well as offer the kids something else to jump off of, in addition to the dock. There is also decent fishing from the footbridge to the island and in the rocks outfront, or at Pickerel Cove which is a two minute boat ride. Inside the house, the beds are very comfortable compared to most rentals, the A/C is great and the appliances are modern. The owners are very communicative and helpful, and obviously take a lot of pride providing a clean, modern, well appointed rental. This is one of the best rentals we've had, and we'd rent Pixie Island again in a heartbeat.

Came here for my mother’s 75th birthday along with my brother, sister and their kids. Place had everything we needed, wonderful AC modern electronics, easy docking for boat, lots of privacy, great grill and outdoor seating, small swim area for kids and a very comfy shaded hammock for old folks. It may have just been bad timing for us but it was very buggy at night so recommend bringing fogger or plenty of spray. We picked up a bunch of citronella tiki torches from local Lowe’s for $4 each and seemed to help a lot. Bedrooms lack many outlets so recommend bringing six foot extension cord if you want to be able to charge phones bedside. If you’re 6’ 2” you will not fit in the guest shower but honestly did most of our bathing in the lake. My family typically spends one week at lake every summer and in the past decade or so since we have been coming this is the best place we have ever stayed. Owners very nice, communicative and super accommodating.

Exactly what my daughters and I needed after 90 days stuck in a two bedroom apartment in CT!! The home is lovely, bedrooms comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with appliances and dishes. Having a washer and dryer was perfect and towels were done nightly! The owners were very responsive, even stopping in on Father's Day to help us log into the sound system!! It was nice being able to control the temperatures in each room separately. Pixie Island offers the best of both worlds in that we were close to stores for anything we needed and my oldest could access WiFi and complete a couple of on-line college classes, yet remote enough that I was able to unplug for the week and detach from adult worries. We lucked out with beautiful weather and had enough room to entertain some life-long friends that lived close by. They, too, had many compliments of Pixie Island and how quickly they felt relaxed and the numerous outdoor seating options. Pixie Island was wonderful! The owners were quick to respond to any questions or problems we may have had. The neighbors could be a little loud, but it was early evening and we weren't bothered at all! Outdoor space was where we spent the majority of our time. If you can, get or bring a boat, honestly those were our best days... just cruising around and exploring. Anchor marine will also captain a boat if don't drive.

We could not have had a more relaxing week. The house is surrounded on all sides by blueberry bushes and screened from neighbors by larger trees, giving a sense of privacy. The eating areas, grills and outdoor speakers were fantastic to have. We’d love to come back. Wish we were there right now!

We first clicked on Pixie Island for its adorable name and we are so glad we did. The house was in a great location, close enough to restaurants and stores, but secluded enough to make you feel like you are in your own space. The little touches like the decorating, the crushed ice, the sound system, really make you feel pampered. Owners were gracious and easy to communicate with. Check in was the easiest we've done on the lakes.

We spent the week at the island with two families, including a bunch of small children. Everything about our stay was fantastic. From fishing off the dock (LOTS of fish for the kids to catch), taking out our boat, skiing and tubing, swimming, kayaking, and cruising the lake, everything exceeded our expectations. The island is in a perfect location where you can get to Weirs Beach, an ice cream shop, and a pretty awesome sandbar in under 10 minutes by boat. There are plenty of restaurants and shops around as well, but the island still feels secluded and private. The house itself seemed modern and newly renovated, with comfortable beds and enough space that we never felt cramped. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The only recommendation I would make here would be the addition of bunk beds to make it more family friendly, but that is a mere nitpick. The views were awesome and the outside seating areas with the Sonos sound system were perfect. If we weren't out on the water, we were sitting outside next to a fire soaking it all in. Overall we had a fantastic vacation and are already discussing booking again next summer.

The family that rented us this place was A+ — super responsive and accomodating to our needs. They recently updated the interior and the property sparkles. We rented a boat and used Paugus Bay (the immediate body of water) for tubing / waterskiing. And then we ventured around the lake for longer explorations. Very easy. The cottage is well-appointed and beds are super comfortable. Air conditioning and fans made the hot days very comfortable sleep in. With little kids, it was great to have laundry too. One thing to be aware of is that the island sits in front of two codo housing associations and sound travels over water... can be a little noisy in the evenings (but nothing crazy. Overall, very enjoyable! Ps. We left some kids fishing rods for a future visitors — great action right off the docks!

Very clean lake house with all the right amenities. Easily accessible, great swim spot for kids and a great setting for dinners out at the lakeside table! Great way to enjoy Lake Winnipesaukee!

Our family just returned from a week on Pixie Island. The house was perfect both in location and size. We enjoyed every aspect of the house including the detached bunk that our boys age 10 and 8 spent most of their time in. I was able to keep my boat in their oversized dock with no issues. Its an easy boat ride to the local ice cream spot on the lake or Meredith for dinner. We HIGHLY recommend this island paradise to all. We look forward to our next stay.
