El Tamaduste is a short drive from El Hierro's small (but very modern) airport, but don't worry, there are only about 7 flights a day and they are with very quiet turboprop aircraft so not a disturbance. The crowning glory of the apartment is the view from the balcony. They are built directly on top of an old lava flow and you can look down and see the sea crashing onto the rocks, it really is mesmerising and the photos in the description are spot on. There is no heating in the apartment, which didn't bother us because it was nice and warm even though it was late December. If you turn left from the entrance to the apartments it will take you to a sea inlet around which walkways and bathing platforms have been built, it is very well done and a pleasant walk. Upon arrival into El Hierro, it may be a good idea to drive straight up to Villa de Valverde (the 'capital) and visit one of the largest supermarkets there to get stocked up. There is a mini-market in Tamaduste which doesn't show up on internet maps and is good for essentials but with a limited range. Check out the opening times of the pizza place in the village, they are cooked to order and excellent, but get there early because they are clearly very popular! You must have a car to explore El Hierro which is unlike any other of the Canary Islands as it is not developed for tourism. We found Tamaduste a great base from which to explore, and the Boomerang Apartments a great place to stay, but phone zombies beware, there is no internet!

No good Internet Connection in the place. Very old furniture. Not much to see in the area.

Being right on the ocean was spectacular... we were able to check in 2 hours early and everyone on staff was really nice! We will return!

It would be nice if the apartments were stocked with dish soap and paper towels, since there is no real store in Tamaduste
