The location was ideal with beach access and everything in walking distance.

Limited supplies: 1 used roll of toilet paper, 0 paper towels, 2 towels, 1 dish towel, 0 laundry detergent, 1 used bottle of disinfectant cleaner and no additional cleaners. Check-in was confusing and the contact was rude. No instructions for using the gate remote or door locks. Pool had a lot of algae and was not clean. Lack of compassion when dealing with a medical emergency on the day of check out. Refused even a minimal extension to vacate and a woman (Grace) inserted herself and infringed on our privacy, while paramedics were tending to my fiance. Luckily we were on vacation with other family members, and my cousin could accompany my fiance to the hospital in the ambulance.

A little bit outdated. In some areas needs improvements: for instance in the mai. bathroom the floor was damaged.

- Location: the hotel is located more or less in the middle of the island on the side of Ponta Delgado, 27 minutes fro the airport. It’s also in walking distance (5 minutes) to a water park, 2 public beaches and a marina with diving, snorkeling, whale watching, kayaking and other activities. And walking distance to the Islet ferry (which we sadly didn’t have time to take). There are several restaurants and 2 small super markets you can walk to or drive. - Amenities: nicely sized pool, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven, coffee machine and more. Also small gym. They gave ample towels (for shower and the beach), extra blankets and pillows. That was great! - Space and design: we rented the 3 br, 2 ba “vila” - which was spacious and very modern. The top floor had a bathtub while the lower floor had a shower. The master bedroom had air-conditioner (A/C) and during our stay they added a portable A/C for the kids room. There were balconies in every room, with the living room balcony facing the shared pool. Gorgeous views and sounds of the ocean.

- Self-guided arrival: I arrived at 12:30am and while I informed the staff of this and they said it’s fine, the self guided concept was challenging. I wasn’t sure I’m in the right place, then it was unclear how to enter the premise with a car. I didn’t know which room (unit) is mine and even after I overcame all of these challenges, the door lock didn’t work. I texted via the booking.com app (super helpful). The person on the other side was doing their best to explain remotely, but I wish they’d use a set of photos or videos to explain (would make things much easier). Eventually even the person on the other side gave up and said someone will come in 3-5 minutes. That took about 30 minutes, of me sitting in a foreign country, in the dark, at 2am, waiting for someone so I can get into my room and sleep. imagine that experience with kids… the person who came to help also couldn’t open the door by the way, and we eventually “broke in” through a side door (that doesn’t really lock even if I wanted later - not a big deal) - Instructions: There was no guidance on how to operate the dishwasher and washing machine (I’ve used a lot of those in my time and it still took us a good 20 minutes to figure out), nor hints on where to throw the trash, texted the property again and they gave a vague explanation (“there are containers in the middle of the property”). I know they were doing their best, but I think they can improve on the async communication (photos or more detailed explanation). - cleanliness: the place was very clean when we arrived, but ants joined us on the 2nd day. Understandable giving nature, but I wish the place was easier to keep clean from crumbs and stuff (vacuum and Clorox wipes? Or bounty paper with Clorox?)

Check-In could definitely be better. Instructions need to be sent prior to arrival (like 1 or 2 days before), because of Wi-Fi connection. It be would be better to have a person to deal with for check-in there on the property. 1 Key for a group of 8 people is NOT enough. Finally, saw housekeeper and asked for additional key. NEVER given a telephone as per instructions. Lock on door to unit, NEEDS to be replaced with one that actually works. The boards on the patios need to be replaced or nailed down---someone can get seriously hurt. The WINDOW in the bathroom within the bedroom, that NEEDS to a curtain, as your surrounding neighbors can see you!!! That's NOT acceptable!!!! The dryer is NOT an actual dryer---it's a drying rack---that's POOR!!! The weather is not always conducive to to drying.
