We both fell in love with the place. We stayed in the apartment named La Cueva and everything was amazing : the view, the cleanliness, the hammock, the shower (especially the shower), everything was great. It's a little bit out of downtown San Juan, which is a must if you want a quiet place, but it's a 10 minutes walk to get to the center. 100% recommend and will stay there again in a heartbeat.

It can get a bit hot in the room, but there is a fan to help with that.

I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was all booked up cuz it’s amazing.

If you arrive at night, it’s hard to find the property, but we asked some guys on the street and they knew where the place was.

The place is run by a Dutch guy, Jan-Luc. He seems friendly but some things already gave away his incredible GREED in the beginning. When asking us to pay, he insisted in converting the exact USD to Cordoba rate, instead of the common 1 USD = 35 NIO. In the 9 weeks traveling the country before coming here, no other host ever did this. This was also the first place in 9 weeks where you need to pay for drinking water! Every other place offers filtered water. His excuse: he had a water filter before but it broke. OK... This already showed how money driven he is. But it gets better! We had friends staying in another cabin at his place as well. They had rented this cabin for 2 months (!) but in the end they had to leave 2 days earlier than planned. So they offered us to stay in their place (we didn't have accommodation booked for those 2 days). We gladly accepted and wanted to pay our friends a bit as compensation. However, Jan-Luc not only did NOT offer them a refund for those 2 nights. He also wanted money from us!!! So for the 2 nights, paid for by our friends, he asked us to pay ADDITIONALLY. He offered the nights at half price! Meaning he would get 3 nights paid for occupying 1 cabin for 2 nights. This is a total fraud and shows true colours!! If you aim to spend your money ethically and you want to support local and honest business owners, this is NOT the place.

Small and cosy. Bed.is comfortable, kitchen is well equipped. Check in fast and easy. Good wifi

Neighbourhood is noisy in the evening. A miror in the bathroom would be great

It is a cute rustic "cave" apartment, nicely cool with a terrace view on the beach and town. Great location 5 minutes to the beach and the port where you can buy fresh fish and seafood - one reason I picked this place as it has a kitchen. The outdoor shower is nice (though why does it have a roof, to avoid getting wet when it rains?)

Unspoilt laid-back place, clean cabin, nice to flop in a hammock with great bay view. Lovely tree on terrace and friendly owners
