location was perfect - walking distance to train and bus station as well as temple district, shopping. and the ryokan staff were fabulous! Dinners both nights were great, especially if you like Hilda beef! and the umbrellas came in handy.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful even with the language barrier. Staff at reception spoke English. Dinner served in our room was an experience and tasted delicious. So did the breakfast in the restaurant. The hotel is only a short walk away from the shops and tourist attractions. Great stay. I would definitely recommend

The location. 10mins walk to the station. We can rarely catch a taxi on the street, should get it from the ryokan. The bathroom in the guest room. It was clean, if it made by wood and not the unit bathroom, it will be so nice and I prefer to see some flower arrangement & incence on Tokonoma. If these facility's equipments will be changed, they deserve to upgrade the price.

Staff were very welcoming. Definitely recommend the dinner and breakfast option to have true ryokan experience. Hida beef cooked in different ways. Slept on tatami mats which was very comfortable - they make the bedding for you each night. Nice small onsen as well which was never busy. Great location close to train station and main street.

Awesome meals. Nice staff. Onsen is moderate, small in size. Location is walking distance from morning market and old street.

Walls not soundproof. Bathroom is tiny and uncomfortable to maneuver inside, no places to put own toiletries or new set of clothes to change after shower. Place looks really old where keys to room are old style keys which doesn’t seem to have good security. Parking is valet and keys need to hand over to hotel.
