Beautiful building and our suite was excellent. Very quiet ( but it is a ‘big event’ hotel so I had checked that there was nothing on the night that we planned to stay!). We were made very welcome by the proprietor and the manager. Dinner was superb, beautifully cooked and presented.

The description is misleading. There was no bar and no snack bar. There was only one person on duty in the evening, the chef/waiter/manager and he went out for a while (super guy, friendly, really helpful, superb chef, so no complaints there!). There was no water in our room, the minibar was empty, and as there was nobody in the kitchen we were totally unable to get even a bottle of water, which we really needed after a couple of hours in the sun, let alone a beer or a sundowner! I managed to find him later and ask for a bottle of wine on the terrace, but by then we only had about fifteen minutes before dinner was served, so couldn’t enjoy sitting out with a drink as we had planned. From then on, the service was perfect, as was the food.

The gardens outside were beautiful and the property looked impressive from the outside. The bedroom and bathroom were comfortable with plenty of hot water. The caretaker was helpful and cheerful.

The property was virtually closed down for the winter and we only had access to the gardens and our bedroom. We wanted to see the rest of building. We were looked after by a Spanish caretaker who spoke no English. We think he was offsite in the evening which meant it was very eerie at night. We had a very basic continental breakfast with no fruit, cereal or yogurt Although it says there was a restaurant this was all locked up as was the lounge. It would be quite a challenge to go out for an evening meal in the dark as it is a bit off the beaten track and not easy to find. This means bringing in supplies for the evening .

The breakfast was nice and so was the gentleman serving it. But could be improved

I didnt like the towels, they were horrible. The interior design needs improving.

Beautiful, tranquil surroundings. Lovely old home. Quite good value for money.

It was impossible to find any staff most of the time. There was no bar available when we were there and we would have loved a drink! It was a shame that during breakfast on the lovely terrace, the gardeners had lit a couple of bonfires to burn leaves?

Incredibly beautiful place, perfect to have a few relaxed days!

Breakfast was really poor and coffee machine for a coffee in the afternoon was broken. seems that they are relaxing on the fact that the place itself is beautiful. service could be improved.

Truly amazing Italian style property. Decor so interesting . bed really comfortable ( garden room) . Gardens stunning . a wonderful stay . The chef was so helpful and managed everything during our stay in a perfect way . Highly recommended .

Towels for the swimming pool would have been great. Shame there was nowhere to buy a pre-dinner drink the night we were there. Would have been nice to have better coffee (eg Nespresso)
