5 star quality hotel. Free car park. Close to the cathedral Beautifully furnished - impressive interior.

Restaurant was not comfortable in as much there were only 3 tables occupied through out the evening and the dining room is very big. A ;little expensive for a one night stay.

The reception man wasn’t helpful along with the restaurant manager& bar room supervisor . I asked if I could take our puppy into the bar , the receptionist man said only the terrace bar not the other. I got there & asked the barman & he said it was ok so we had a drink, the supervisor came in & he looked at our dog as we talked to him. We left the hotel to walk around the town & returned later to be told we were not allowed in the same bar with our dog. I asked to speak to the Manager who chose not to come & see me , I asked three times & he just sent messages through a young member of staff. I then found him in the restaurant & he told me he was only the restaurant Manager. He told me that the members of staff who told me it was ok to visit the Terrace bar did not see my dog & told me I was not telling the truth ! I would have expected the General Manager to contact me however he chose not to.

The breakfast was excellent and our Junior Suite was also very comfortable and clean. The dinner was also delicious including the wines.

The check in with the car was a bit confusing. We didn't know where to park and took as a while to sort the carparking situation out.

The hotel was in a great location for the ferry - to save driving into Santander. Thermal pool amazing staff really helpful re menu choices/drinks. Room lovely - large and very comfortable

Staff were amazing, especially the girl working at the indoor pool, food was great, hotel was very clean and our 2 year old had a great time.

The whole place looked tired, the gardens were showing need of maintenance, leaves and debris was visible everywhere. Even the water in the mini bar was charged. Limited options for getting food as the restaurant did not open until 2030. Not real for the traveler wanting a quick overnight stop

The room size was good.

The decor needed refreshing in the room. The walls were marked and the furniture too although not severely. There were no tea making facilities in the room. Our room was the only one that didn't have a balcony which was disappointing as we paid for an upgraded room. Cost for the spa was excessive and there was a further charge to use the jacuzzi and other features which should be included at the rates charged. Quality of the toiletries could have been better.

Disappointing as we have stayed before and it was much better then! Rooms are just as comfortable and the spa is still nice to use but the hotel seemed deserted did not offer much else alas! Bar was not open and no drinks of any kind available between 5pm and 8pm except from a machine. So no relaxing drink before dinner. No food or snacks of any kind either until dinner at 8.30pm. I asked at reception and we were directed to a bar across the road and up the street about half a block away. This did turn out to be ok, although it looked a little seedy on first impression but as I have a slight mobility problem it made things difficult to say the least. Breakfast looked good at first with a choice of cheeses, meats, bread, pastries and all of this was nice but the hot food we ordered (eggs, bacon and pork sausages) was a disaster! Eggs were chopped up fried eggs, bacon was mostly fat and sausage was just chopped chorizo which would have been ok except that it was all cold. The toasting machine didn't toast the bread after two passes and turned it to rock after three. Fresh honeycomb was a nice touch though and there was lots of really good butter / jam

I had higher expectations as this stay is not the cheapest by a long way. Hotel could have been more accomodating and breakfast was a complete disappointment. Probably won't go and stay at this one again which is a shame...

the bar staff and quality of the evening food was very disappointing and the all male restaurant staff certainly had an attitude the usual restaurant manager had the night off the man who seemed in charge no name badge was the most un friendly person who banded the bottle of water on the table and certainly no smile he did the same to other tables I was very upset with this I was travelling with a friend I had told him how I have stayed at this hotel several times and had received very good service he told me the food in the restaurant was the worst meal he had ever been served in a hotel which so disappointing for me

Excellent location twenty minutes from santander, friendly staff, excellent rooms, lovely hotel.

Pros: facilities, thermal baths, rooms quality, staff approaches, decoration, design, warm spaces and so on… The standard of Castilla Termal chain is fully respected.

Cons: salt level in the dinner dishes; the kid’s mattress and pillow doesn’t have the same quality like the one for adults.

Very nice hotel, pleasant staff and good grounds to walk our dog. An excellent breakfast. Within 30 minutes of Santander ferry port so an excellent location away from the noise and bustle of the city, would definitely stay here again.

The evening meal was not to the standard expected from a 4 star hotel, limited choice and basically pub food level. The rules and disclaimer we had to sign for the dog and the collection of a deposit was a little disconcerting though the staff were pleasant enough around the dog.

Leaving...we are heading to Costa del Sol but I would happily stay here instead.

Stayed here for 1 night before ferry from Santander, excellent location as ferry just 15mins away. Solares is a nice little town with plenty of little shops to look around and cafes/eateries. Bed was huge and very comfortable, a travel cot had been set up for our 20month old with her own towel inside and a Teddy which was a lovely touch. The thermal spa was lovely and we used it in the morning in family slot. It was easy to book beforehand and when family times were was easy to understand. Breakfast buffet was great, a very nice spread plus some hot options. The bar area was comfortable and nice space to relax with a drink, the drinks were very well priced.

Check-in slightly slow and had short issue finding the booking.

The staff is absolutely helpful, empathic and friendly. Ana from the reception was so kind helping us receiving our late luggage arrival. The place is absolutely beautiful, clean and you'll have everything you need to have a great and relaxant stay

Hotel is located in Solares, a small city (15min from Santander). If you want to go out, Standander is the best option where you have to go by car. A free Parking is available, but not as easy to access as the one under the hotel (6euros / night)
