Hotel is nice and reasonably priced. Rooms are small but clean. There is a shuttle to Grau Roig ski area. It has a lounge are to watch sports and have a snack.
It is isolated and far from any town so you either walk a lot or have to wait for the local bus, or take the shuttle to the ski area. It seems they take advantage on that and the snack bar and the restaurant on the premises are quite expensive and not that good.

Thanks to my friend Thiago, who works at the reception, he helped me a lot personally, he called what I needed, I got important information about the transport, I also say hello to the head chef who has golden hands, good cooking and good price, thank you all

Nice simple double room. Good meals (breakfast & evening meal). very pleasant staff. Nice bar area.
parking limited and has to paid for daily via machine. location is remote though the shuttle facility to Peretol or Grau Roig is excellent

The breakfast is ok
Good enough for 2-3 days
Lots of free parking outside the hotel
The dinner was decent and at a good price
The breakfast was never all set out on time over the 3 times I went to breakfast
It is a noisy hotel, with banging doors being heard regularly
The shower is for the height of a dwarf

Very good price and position, plenty of parking spaces on the street. Staff extremely nice, there are two very good restaurants right next to the hotel. Room was very clean and strong wifi.
We have asked for a double bed but got two twin beds put next to each other. Also room is quite small and if you're there for skiing there is little space to let your clothes dry.

The hotel is ok, nothing fancy. If you want to stay in a place just because you get breakfast and then you ski all day, this is the right hotel. But don't expect entretainment or great facilities. You have a bar downstairs that is ok if you want to have a couple of beers, but don't expect a party.
At some point of my stay there was a strange odor around the place ("bathroom like" odor if you understand what I say). It was just on one specific day, not every day.
The building is very VERY noisy once everyone wakes up. People going up and down the stairs with the ski boots, speaking loud. The room is not isolated form outside noise at all.
The location is not great if you want to visit other places at night and you don't have a car. The buses have not great frequency and they stop working at 9:30PM!! So if you did not get the last bus, you'll end up paying a very expensive taxi, or you will have to walk a lot.

- spectacular staff, specially Tiago at the front desk
- the transfer to Grau Roig
- the breakfast is below average and not worth the money you pay
- they upgraded my room to the other side of the street where the apartments are located, which was nice - the downside was that the apartment smelled like cigar smoke and the neighbors could be very loud in the evening
- the mattress in my apartment was very used and needs replacement
3.4
they upgraded our room to an apartment free of charge! very well equipped and staff were helpful with booking taxis.

rooms were clean and warm
rooms on the first floor are next to the bar, we couldn’t sleep, all the noise on the bar filters towards the rooms, when asked about a change of room it was a passive aggressive no, and we were told the weren’t any rooms available, 1 hour later there is a queue of 50 people checking in getting rooms, so there were rooms available.
3.4
clean hotel with nice rooms and once we understood what was were, well connected to the surrounding villages and ski lifts.
when we first arrived, the English of the staff wasnt
great and so we struggled to understand how to get into Soldeu. the food was ok. there wasn’t much of an atmosphere in the bar or a local bar
3.4
clean rooms but basic.
smell of sewage in lobby and lift area. extremely noisy in mornings as ski lockers are located on each floor. put them in the garage.

We were happy to leave because the experience was absolutely awful.
Did not provide many of the services it advertised and we had a piece of ceiling falling on top of us in the middle of the night. Yeah, it is THAT bad.
Here's the list of advertised services that were not present:
- No luggage storage
We arrived in the morning ready to leave our bags and go skiing only to find out we had to stay at the hotel waiting until 5pm (ridiculous check in time) because they wouldn't store our luggage.
- No transfer to the slopes
This is VERY problematic since the bus service is abysmal and there's no other way to get to the slopes (we had to wait over 2hs to get back home one of the days)
- No room cleaning or towel changes or toiletries
Even worse, the towels got dirty and they were hanged back up by staff as if they were clean.
- No shared area with board games, etc, only a bar which is closed during the day (and not managed by the hotel)
- Awful breakfast and dinner buffets
To make matters worse there is literally nothing around the hotel, so either eat that or stay hungry.
ONE OF THE DAYS OUR FRIENDS GOT WOKEN UP BY THE CEILING COLLAPSING ON TOP OF THEM AT 4AM IN THE MORNING. THIS PLACE IS ACTUALLY DANGERIOUS TO STAY AT.
We also heard on the day we arrived another couple had their room flooded.
The hotel used to be good when we originally booked it had an 8.9 rating, but it got acquired by Pierre Vacances and it is now a dumpster. Imagine how bad it must be now to have fallen so much and so fast.
The only way to see this is as an actual fraud, we got scammed and payed for a hotel which was not what we actually got and to this date neither Booking nor Pierre Vacances have resolved the issue. We have raised 3 separate complaints which they have tried to delay and avoid for 3 months so far.
Don't be like us.
PELASE LOOK FOR LITERALLY ANY OTHER PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TRIP TO BE RUINED.

The hotel was super noisy, you could hear everything that was happening in the hall (people chatting, children screaming etc.) like it was happening by your bed. Ski lockers are by the bedrooms on each floor which means people walk by your bedroom door wearing ski boots. Make sure you take earplugs with you if you want to be able to get any sleep. On top of this, our room had a very unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom...all in all a hotel to be AVOIDED.
3.4
the location was ok with a supermarket next door.
the rooms were very basic for what you pay and also not very clean. even though the room was supposed to be cleaned everyday it seemed the floors were never cleaned so was disgusting to walk bear foot on. the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything going on outside and from other rooms. curtains was so thin as soon as it’s light outside you wake up because they let all the light in, it was like having no curtains on the windows. the staff wasn’t very helpful, most questions that was asked the answer was always I don’t know. I would not stay here again

Bar staff (namely Kaleel) gave good recommendations and was very friendly. Room was cleaned daily. Plenty of hot water for showers. Breakfast was nice. Free locker to put ski stuff in.
Receptionists constantly gave us wrong information; told us there were free buses to slopes but the buses wouldn't go to Soldeu where we needed to be, told us taxis were way to expensive when they were only 10/20€, told us the bar music would stop at 11.30 and it regularly went on until 1am. Our room was right above the bar, when I asked to move rooms when the music was particularly loud she said the DJ would finish in 10min and he kept playing music for another hour. Dinner here was disgusting, no idea how you can ruin soup and a burger. Staff look miserable in restaurant. Only one nice restaurant in the area, rest we needed to pay for a bus to get to so the location was terrible for apres ski. View from the room was a dark alleyway so no external light. Heating was way too high we had to sleep with the window open most nights

The food at the bar was ok.
The tiny room... Disgusting.. the floor hasn't been hoovered before for sure.
They mention that there is a shuttle but we were told that the shuttle doesn't stop at Soldeu, which is the main telecabin next to the hotel. But too far away to go there by foot.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Relaxed informal atmosphere. Room was clean.
Facilities were good, but a bit expensive for what you get.

it took over 4 hours to check in .. the Hotel reception was processing all the apartments as well. My room was not cleaned 3 days in a row. Had requested a mountain view.. terrible back room... disappointing all round

Just returned from a wonderful stay (half board) at Hotel Austria with my family of five. I really don't understand the negative reviews from recent months, as our expectations for a three star hotel were exceeded. Excellent food, quiet, comfortable rooms on the top floor and friendly staff. Location is outside of the main villages but this meant we could ski all areas (we skied 2 days Grau Roig and 3 at Tarter) We took our own car and parked outside the hotel on the road for free and with no problems. Nice bar area for before/after dinner. Ski hire and supermarket right next door.
Underground parking not available, and turned out not recommended by the hotel due to the steep access! But we parked on the street outside (for free). Check in was a bit chaotic (despite paying extra for early check in). Our friends who were staying on the 3rd floor were disturbed by music from the bar one night, but we didn't hear a thing from very quiet rooms on 5th floor.
