Friendly staff, great location, clean, fun

Stayed at the Ostend many times and we love it after the last recent refit its a great central place to stay a few yards from the beach and harbour. Breakfast is plentiful with a great hot and cold selection and great coffee served buffet style. Its nice to come back for a quiet drink at the bar which serves some great beer on tap.

The breakfast is excellent, you can even say that it is way too much. No matter what time you get your breakfast, everything is always there in overload. You can get everything you want, as much as you want.

Unfortunately the breakfast and the facilities are the only excellent thing in this hotel. The rooms were not soundproof at all, so whenever someone was having a loud conversation outside, I could hear it, even when the window was closed. So it happened that people were having very loud conversations after midnight and so it was impossible to sleep. Of course it is not the fault of the hotel that people have loud conversations, but it is a problem that noise is coming in so easily. Another example: there was a construction site in front of the hotel and at 7 am, when construction started, they put on music and since loud noises are coming in very easily, it wasn't hard to wake because of the noise.
