Nothing. We will not stay at this hotel ever

Everything! - starting from lack of communication, we sent numerous messages and got no reply - there were live and dead cockroaches in our bathroom which we didn’t find them out until the next morning. We slept with the cockroaches, how gross 🤢 - some of the hotel staff are extremely rude. - etc

Italiano: Abbiamo soggiornato diverse volte all'Hotel Royal di Macao e, fino ad ora, abbiamo sempre apprezzato la gentilezza del personale, l'accoglienza calorosa e i servizi offerti. Tuttavia, durante la nostra ultima visita, abbiamo riscontrato alcune problematiche che ci hanno lasciato insoddisfatti, soprattutto considerando che si tratta di un hotel a 5 stelle. Alla reception, l'accoglienza non è stata all'altezza delle aspettative. Due dei dipendenti che ci hanno assistito non erano né particolarmente gentili né sorridenti, un netto contrasto rispetto alle esperienze passate. Questo ci ha sorpresi, dato che una delle ragioni per cui abbiamo sempre scelto questo hotel è stata proprio l'attenzione e la cordialità del personale. Inoltre, abbiamo avuto un problema con la cassaforte in camera, che necessitava di assistenza. Il personale inviato per risolvere il problema non parlava inglese, il che ha complicato ulteriormente la situazione. È stato piuttosto frustrante dover comunicare a gesti per una questione così semplice, soprattutto in un hotel di questa categoria. Speriamo che l'Hotel Royal possa migliorare questi aspetti per garantire agli ospiti un'esperienza sempre piacevole e all'altezza del suo standard, magari fornendo un'adeguata formazione al proprio personale. English: We have stayed several times at the Hotel Royal in Macau and, until now, we have always appreciated the kindness of the staff, the warm welcome and the services offered. However, during our last visit, we encountered some issues that left us unsatisfied, especially considering that this is a 5-star hotel. At reception, the welcome was not up to expectations. Two of the employees who assisted us were neither particularly kind nor smiling, a stark contrast to past experiences. This surprised us, given that one of the reasons we have always chosen this hotel was precisely the attention and friendliness of the staff.

Location is tricky to find taxis - not hotel's fault, but can be bothersome if in a rush.

The location is great for the scenic old part of town if further away from many of the big draws of Macau, the cleanliness of the rooms is more than satisfactory, the room was spacious and the view was if not stellar, perfectly nice. I appreciated the accommodations that were arranged for me by the staff.

The hotel gives the distinct vibe of having fallen from its prime, I don't know that it was ever better but it was certainly not worth the money I spent. Most of the reason I booked the hotel turned out to be if not outright fiction (the food options bordered on terrible for a non-budget hotel and a single serving of toast and cold pre-cooked eggs is not a superb breakfast), then just far less than satisfactory for price. The staff seemed to be overworked to the extreme, it took nearly 40 minutes to check-in and I had to call multiple times to have our room stocked with basic essentials. It always felt like they were short-handed, but they were as friendly and helpful as could be when time permitted.
