This cabin was perfect for a Valentines Day getaway for me and my husband! Great location. Walking distance to town!

This precious cabin was a perfect getaway for my husband and I to celebrate my birthday! The location was really close to shopping and dining in Wimberley though it felt secluded.

The property is beautiful and quiet. It is next to the river and within walking distance of downtown. The house was very clean and well equipped.

The cabin was perfect and it was in a great location. The deer in the yard each day were a great addition.

Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy the hot tub due to the outside temperatures. We hope to return when there is cooler weather outside. We greatly enjoyed the deer. It was wuiet and peaceful.

We loved staying at the Crossland House. It was a perfect location for restaurants, shops and water activities. We also loved the deer visitors every day. The house could use some small maintenance repairs such as light bulbs being out and also one of the handles on the tub was falling off. It was a cute house though.

Very clean. Very beautiful property. Quiet and relaxing. Cabin is near the creek. ( creek cottage is actually on the creek ). Few suggestions for improvement: make sure all light fixtures have working bulbs. Electrical outlets in bedroom did not function at all. Overall enjoyable place to stay.

This place is a true gem. Perched right at creek side there are beautiful cypress trees and a fabulous view of the creek that runs straight into Wimberley. There are paddle boats available too. We saw squirrels, lots of deer, an armadillo and even a fox literally from our front door. The property was gorgeous. The house was great too, though missing a few key details. The kitchen and living room were huge and had everything we need except details about Wi-Fi. There were no instructions whatsoever, except how to work the television. The furniture was nice, and the breezeway was very relaxing. The master bedroom was large as well and the bed was extremely comfortable. I only wish there had been a working lamp and some sort of dresser for us to unpack. The clawfoot tub was fabulous, except the left handle kept falling off the faucet. Also there needs to be a small table near the tub since there is no where to put your toiletries when bathing. Several lightbulbs were out so lighting in the whole place was a bit challenging. I’m a Texas girl, so I appreciate my make up! The check in process was confusing since the email instructed us to go to Brookshire Brothers to pick up our key. I think the email just needs to be updated. We gave up and went straight to the property, then found our key easily from there. All in all, this was a fabulous place to stay. I would definitely stay again! I do hope management, read these notes and makes a few small corrections.

Location is great. It's secluded with several other rentals on same property and creek is a short walking distance. I would check all the light fixtures in ceiling under vent hood in kitchen and make sure no working ones get replaced. Also need to fix electrical outlets on kitchen countertop. 3 of them are not working. Make sure coffee pot is cleaned out. It was dirty and had left over coffee grounds in it. I received two different emails from Vrbo that were conflicting on the key to the place. One says pick up keys at office and the other said key will be under the mat. So made extra trip to office, nobody there when we got there. Went to house and key was under mat. The check out was also confusing as one email says bring key back to office and $25 late fee if not left by 11 am. The other email says leave the key where you found it. This is confusing and when I called the number on the window of the office I got an answering machine to leave a message. Well I did and nobody returned my call. So I messaged property manager and received a message back saying "leave the key happy Easter." So it really did not answer my quest as to where to leave the keys. So I left the key under the mat. Communication is not that good. Also, there needs to be an outside light somewhere around hot tub. Can't see anything out there at night. Had to use a flashlight. There's are recommendations so you next tenants will find your rental well and you will get 5 stars next time.

We had a lovely weekend and definitely recommend this place for a couples weekend away. The grounds are beautiful, they have an amazing fire pit stocked with wood, and we saw so many different birds (and even some deer and a fox!). Between the fire pit and the hot tub, this would be a great place to stay any time of year. Some previous comments talked about issues with the hot tub and wifi, but both worked great for us. The bed is very comfy too. The pics of the house don’t do it justice. It’s very roomy, lots of nice windows and decorated beautifully. The property owners were very responsive as well. We hope to visit again soon!

Property was as advertised. Quiet getaway, walking distance to town. Gated and quiet, we will return.

Husband and I stayed for a weekend anniversary get away. Perfect place, very relaxing and what a great experience.

We loved the Crossland cabin! So clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed being able to walk easily to restaurants and the grocery store, and the easy access to Cypress Creek. We used the provided kayaks and paddles at least twice! Next time we visit Wimberley, we'll definitely try to book this property again.

Had a relaxing time

Surprisingly clean and comfortable. Good location for walking access the city center. Nice creek with kayaks, boards, canoe and chairs. Grounds are well watered and green. We will be back.

This cottage/house and surrounding grounds are very well maintained and is located down a very quite road in the middle of town. Deer roamed the grounds in the morning and evening and was a very peaceful stay. Although not a negative for most, we found having other cabins on the property so close to one another, to be a little privacy concerning, as we didn't expect it based on the photos in the listing. Other than that, this place was a "10" .

Hot Tub wasn't that clean, didn't have a sign in book, or info on local restaurants, should be by front door

Had a snafu with getting in the gate, the creek was a lot further than we were led to believe in the listing and the AC wouldn’t cool the bedroom below 75... the fan was tolerable. It we like to sleep cool. Otherwise, the hot tub was nice, the claw tub was a neat touch, we watched a movie and we loved seeing deer out the windows at all times of day. It was a nice respite. Like I said, almost great.

This rustic getaway was better than I imagine! I loved the western pioneer look and decor with a mix of modern was beautiful. After reading the reviews about the internet, we wasn't really concerned about until we needed to send something out and for that, we waited until we went out sightseeing for better cell signal on the main road to send emails out. The claw foot tub was really cool! The bed was very, very comfortable. The hot tub needed more TLC and the water was a little low so we passed on using it. Overall, I great little property with its own personality and charm. This is definitely on my list to return to again. Not to mention, it's a good setting to take pictures. The rest of the houses on the property were beautiful with its own charm and character. The real attraction was the amount of deer that just show up and graze on the property. They're not really afraid of you, but will be watching your every move. Take it slow driving in off and on the property because the deer are all over the place before getting to the main road. Take your camera, enjoy the closeness of nature, and take it all in as you enjoy your time there.

This place really exceeded expectations! We stayed 2 nights, once we checked in the place was clean and it had a beautiful creek near by, plus walking distance to the downtown area. The only complaint was that wifi didn't seem to work, and no response back about the wifi on our first night. But other than that the stay was really wonderful, and would recommend anyone looking for a peaceful spot out of the city! Thanks again!

I originally wrote a long review, but instead I will just sum it up. The communication was very lacking. First was several emails about the check in process, which was different from the actual check in process they send you inside VRBO. I saw several other reviews with this same issue. Second was that I had an issue where I found drug paraphernalia inside the property and tried to both call, no answer but left voicemail, and messaged the management but no one ever got back to me. Even now, several days after I have still not heard from anyone. The other issue I had was that the property costs more than others on the same plot of land yet does not feel like it has the same value. Many things seemed run down and not taken care of, an example was the large number of light bulbs that were out or missing. There was no welcome sheet/book, no information about things on the property, no explanation on the WIFI. I did not feel like the management was about providing a good experience. For being more expensive than comparable places, I expected more, but was sadly let down. Save some money and check out the other properties in the area.

My husband and I stayed for our 5th anniversary. The property was beautiful with a short walk to the creek. The home is even better in person than in the photos. Comfy furniture and the hot tub was perfect. We would absolutely stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Crossland House. The house was spacious and inviting. The grounds with the creek nearby and deer wandering through were beautiful. Perfect spot for some peace and quiet and a great location for access to the town, parks, and restaurants.

Very nice surroundings and beautiful woodworking. Comfortable bed and nice kitchen. Dishwasher didn’t work, but I’m sure they can address that issue.

This is the second time we have stayed at this house. It’s a great little house for a getaway. Located very close to downtown and just steps away from the river. I would highly recommend it for a couple trying to get away. There was some confusion for how to check in. I received and email a month before with instructions on how to check in then another email a few days before. We used the instructions on the later and they were incorrect. My biggest complaint is that you cannot connect to the internet or the internet just does not work. The funny thing is this happened when we stayed years before. I thought they would have fixed it. No such luck. I emailed the manager and never got a response. Again not that big of a deal except if your parents away from the kids and are wanting to check in with them.
