We had a really nice balcony where you could watch the sunset.
The room has a fridge which is nice. Everything was clean and comfortable and the hotel is directly at the beach and main spot for restaurants.
On weekends it is really busy on the street and you hear the traffic and party noise through the windows.

The excellent staff was very attentive and helpful! They did an excellent job! The rooms were small but EXACTLY what we wanted/needed. The rooms were very economical and VERY clean. All in all, I was very impressed with Ballena Azul and will definately wtay there again when I go to Taganga!
The coffee situation could have been a little better. When I think of coffee in Colombia, I think of a better set up at the hotel/ Having said that, if I complain about the coffee? Everything else is great! Had a blast

The bed and AC
1. There was no staff
2. restaurant out of service in my whole stay
3. no breakfast included
4. The shower was bad
5. the mini fridge not functional
6. the hotel super empty, the only person youll see is the receptionist
THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY SERVICE, no beach service, no pool, no breakfast, no wifi, no staff, receptionist was all robotic. PLEASE GET A HOSTEL.
i walked by next day and it was closed and dark, they probably Didnt have any guest there.
RECOMMENDATION:
if you want to stay in Taganga thinking that the hotel brings beach services such as chairs etc like they show in the picture? LIES, those chairs and tents does not come with the hotel.
I wanted to stay in viña del mar which is next to Ballena azul but i got more impressed about this “cool quality pics” because once you go there and start paying attention to details you’ll realize that this hotel is trash.

The staff was nice and helpful, also the location is right next to the beach.
Pool was out of order, no hot water, internet connection very poor and it looks like a run down facility.

People are nice, the place clean (acceptable). In front of the beach, though it´s not a nice beach. Air conditioning in the room is ok.
The hotel is NOT like it´s on the pictures and it used to be, it sold a part and is undergoing a lot of changes. No hot water to take a shower. No room service or place for even a coffee or a tea. TOO noisy, as it is beside bars and music is REALLY high all night. The wifi is not enough and if you need to work or take a call you need to go out of the room (even suggested by the hotel) and there is no air conditioner and you can´t stay alive

Great location, helpful and friendly staff, great size room
Had to get jucuzzi fixed, and sea view room was questionable though you could see the sea. If you like to sleep the Restaurant below does play live music most nights and starts early again ...but not a big issue below

Attentive, helpful, communicative and very nice staff. It's in the beach so close to the spot to grab some tours on the fly. Close to an ATM, taxis and pharmacy, all within a block away. Also it had reliable wifi.
No pool but you'll kno that beforehand. A mini fridge in the room would be a nice touch.

Location was perfect. It’s under construction, they let us know ahead of time. Basic accomodation with communicative staff right where you want to be. Would love to see once the renos done.

The rooms are old but they are very clean, there is an excellent view from in shared space upstairs that you can watch the sunset and has a nice breeze, the AC worked really well, the sheets and towels were super clean and the staff was very nice. It’s a great location if you need a taxi anywhere. There are restaurants just outside, easy to organize a boat tour, it can be a little loud at night but not too bad. AC worked well.
no hot water, Normally I don’t care about this but after a day in the sun with sunscreen it would’ve been nice to have hot water, there’s nowhere to cook or heat water or make coffee.. it’s being remodeled but the project is at a stand still.. it would be easy for them to add a few details to make this place a bit more comfortable
