The location was excellent! The gentleman who checked us in was friendly and polite (he did not speak much English). The hotel is right on the main street with lots of shops and restaurants. It was above/beside a restaurant. If it wasn't for the lavender festival going on, it would have been easy to find the property by car. The room was quite large and the bathroom was too. There was a large wardrobe and a TV on top (too high really but at least there was one). A power bar was provided to plug in our devices. Beds were single and comfortable enough. Pillows were not. They were long and round and not very soft. There was a good shower head and lots of hot water. Loved the big windows that opened out onto the main street (we were in room 11).

The room stunk. Literally. We saw the room and then went out for a few hours. When we got back there was a pervading smell of sewage. It helped to keep the bathroom door closed but it did not eliminate the offensive odour. The room was very old but not in a quaint, vintage way, more of a 70s no bother to update it way. The bathroom vanity was large and very outdated. The shower unit needed a good scrubbing to get the grunge out of the corners of the unit. There were many cracked floor tiles in the room and the bathroom. There was no AC (not unexpected) and when we opened the windows we could hear a lot of street noise. Perhaps this was just due to the festival because the establishments on the street near the hotel were quiet. It was people moving about enjoying the festival. As a heads up, there is no elevator (again, not unexpected) and the reception is on the second floor (above the restaurant/bar). Carrying luggage would be difficult. Overall the disgusting smell and the run down room was very disappointing.
