It is a 70's motel, with instalations old but conservate and adequate for a simple beach accomodation. Very good location in Whitianga. We stayed in a 2 bedroom (couple), so it was spacious and very clean. Wifi worked fine. Parking provided. Did not use the pool as the water was freezing cold in January. Do not recommend if plans are to cook, as there are strict rules concerning smells and many things. Owners give you a long list of rules when you check in: keep place clean at all times. If you use the kitchen, clean. Do not enter the room with shoes. Do not sleep over duvet because it is unhygienic, etc. Felt they are more concerned about keeping the space in order to the next guest than making you feel comfortable. We only booked the 2 bedroom (more $$) because there was a stove and we could cook simple meals, as we were in NZ for 20 days eating in restaurants and feeling unweell. At first night the fire alarm was triggered with my mashed potatoes and beef, so it was a bit disturbing the only thing I listen was I would have to pay a lot of money in case that smell didn't disapear. Even after apologizing many times. We did not have any other issues the following nights but I was all the time concerned as everything you cook causes some smoke (and smell) and the food had been bought, so I would not just throw away :(

There were many options for breakfast and the hosts were more than willing to give recommendations.

Excellent location, in the city center near restaurants and information. The owners are very nice, they gave us precise explanations and also beach towels and a shovel for the hot water beach.

The owners are absolutely lovely.

The TV signal wasnt watchable.
