The size of the house is spacious. We booked our stay for the location near the water and for the use of kayaks and boat. We wanted easy access to fishing and crabbing. The house needs TLC but we had already knew that from previous reviews. Again, our main purpose was for its location at the pier and water. The neighborhood is surrounded by marshes, so you could not avoid the flies and insects outside. The house pool was enclosed with screens so at least that kept the bugs on the outside. The grill is smaller than we expected. It was a bit difficult to quickly cook food for our group of 12. Therefore, we mostly cooked on the stove. Beware of the ants in the kitchen. We kept food off the counter. It wasn't too bad but I can see someone get irritated by the ants. If you can't stand flies and bugs, you probably wouldn't be able to enjoy the outdoors here as much. But if you can get pass the flying insects to get to the pier and to use the kayaks, then it can be a nice stay with family and friends.

This place is amazing! The location is breath taking we wished we had booked longer. The indoor grill was amazing to have the pool was great. This place has old charm absolutely beautiful.

The house was definitely big enough for the 11 of us. The pool was enjoyed by all and the grandkids enjoyed crabbing with their parents at their own dock. Some even ventured out on the kayaks. Great to have all those activities. The month of June is definitely a buggy season and no one went home without multiple welts. The concerns we had about the house is that there were dirty dishes left in the dishwasher, the grill was filthy and the alarm went off three days when there was no emergency. Some of the furniture is in need of repair or replacement. Personally, this was the first time we were ever asked to strip all the beds that were used and to replace items; i.e. paper towels, toilet paper.

House was very big, great for large gatherings, loved the pier. Sarah, the owner, was always available to answer any and all questions.

On arrival there was a truck in the driveway, we couldnt find anyone in the house so we walked over to the pier, we found a man on the pier fishing, he told us he was there to clean the pool, but the pool was dirty. He walked up to the pool and I dont know what he did but obviously didnt clean it because the next morning the pool was even worse, we were not able to use it. The house had not been cleaned well. There were dirty sponges left in the sink and they had obviously been used to wipe the front of the fridge off because it was filthy and the side of the fridge was even worse. The counters were sticky and the sink had alot of ants. We went to the inside grill area and the bar and table were all sticky and had not been cleaned, we also had to clean the grill before using it. The bathroom off the master bedroom had not been cleaned well, the sink has residue in it and the track of the shower door was completely filthy. We told the host about the issues and said we were going to have to buy cleaning supplies and clean the place because it was so bad, she said she would knock off the cleaning fee, which was not good enough seeing how we were going to have to buy our own supplies and time cleaning. The more we looked around the worse it got. None of the bathrooms had hand towels when we got there we found those in the laundry room wet. Not allowed to open windows which was odd.Couldnt go out on balcony,. The pier and water was the only good thing. House is beautiful but unke

This is a nice place located in the middle of marshes, which is what we were looking for. The house had many small extras, from starter sets of toilet paper and paper towels to a nice set of kitchen equipment (pots, pans, serving utensils). The view from the uppermost floor was magnificent. We enjoyed our stay.

Bay is great so is pool. House not very clean. Fun weekend

Such a great private location with beautiful views. Big spacious house with tons of opportunity. We had a great time fishing, not much luck crabbing but luckily Buck isn’t far to purchase crabs at a great price! Home and pool really need some attention with the cost of renting the property. Home owner is easy to contact with open communication during entire stay. There are flies/bugs, that should be a given with the location, not a reason to complain about this property!

The house is big and has lots of separate spaces which was fantastic for our large group. It is VERY isolated, but we liked that. It's an old house with character. One hour drive to the beach.

House was older and very spacious, plenty of bedrooms for the 10 of us. 4 bathrooms were sufficient but with only 2 shower/tubs. One more shower would be helpful. We like older house with character and this house suited our tastes. My oldest daughter loved the 3rd floor addition with windows all around. Pool was enjoyed by youngsters. My daughter fished and crabbed with moderate success. As expected outside was very buggy and limited my desire to walk the neighborhood but that was expected and normal for the area. Fortunately for us there were storms before we arrived and blew the nasty greenhead flys away for our stay. We did have one glitch in that the door key would not work on both locks which left us stranded outside for over an hour. Sarah responded quickly to get Buck to help us but he was not a locksmith. After some time of trying different options Buck found a window that he climbed through. After some more time we found a makeshift solution and were able to get in and out. These things happen and we appreciate Sarah and Buck’s quick responses.

House and location were terrific! Plenty of space inside and out, we enjoyed the pool, yard and pier. Visited Assateague Island National Seashore, and Jane's Island State Park, highly recommend visiting either one. Only negative was the refrigerator broke during our stay. Contacted the owner and she immediately responded and had a repairman there within in an hour and a half. Bugs are only a problem if you don't use bug spray! Spent the entire day in the yard, in the middle of a salt marsh, and didn't get bit once. Thank you Sara for a great vacation!

Seven of us (plus two dogs) spent three nights in this fantastic property. The house is huge! At one point, two of us were in the dining room doing a jigsaw puzzle while two were in the pool, one was watching television and one was on the third floor enjoying the view. We all loved kayaking and we even took the dogs out on the water in the rowboat. The only bummer was that we didn’t stay longer!

We had such a wonderful time! Very, very spacious and very welcoming!

It was a wonderful place for my family to enjoy a long weekend. We enjoyed fishing, crabbing, walking the beach, and my grandchildren loved the pool. The living room was comfy for a family movie night. The large backyard provided an opportunity for a wiffle ball game.

My family had a great time here, away from all the noise and light pollution. Kids enjoyed the shallow pool, and the adults had a great time crabbing and fishing. You can catch crabs along the entire length of the pier, but most of the fish were actually much closer to the beach. Use a paddle tail lure for rockfish along the beach.

We had a wonderful time. Lots of relaxing and family time.

We, a bunch of men, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found this property to be an eclectic collection of rooms finished-out via various do-it-yourself projects, some of which were not completed in a professional manner. The house was spacious, however, the kitchen was well equipped and the waterfront location was very nice, including the pier. The views of the marshes and Tangier Sound were excellent and we enjoyed a round of golf at a nearby course (Great Hope Golf Course). We found a nice fishing hole and got lots of friendly suggestions from locals. Our rental was in the off-season, which may account for the fact that there was no cable TV. The internet connection was intermittent, so the apparent plan of the owners to use our own streaming services did not work out,. We were very disappointed with this approach for TV given we were there during the ALCS and the NLCS series. We did not find the bugs to be an issue, but we were there in the fall so this may have been a factor.

This was one of the best rentals I have ever had. The location was great, the house was great, the fishing and crabing off the peer was great. My kids caught there first fish there. I would highly recommend

We all enjoyed our stay at your house. Fishing swimming great family fun times playing games watching movies playing practical jokes on the each other. I read the reviews before we all went took plenty of bug spray to protect ourselves with. Took my 82 year old mom and she was happy here. Playing games too. Nice and relaxing great time too of bonding as a family and friends

so the house is charming, which is about the best thing i can say. thank heaven it was comfortable inside because you weren't able to step outside without being attacked by biting flies, gnats, noceums (?) and of course mosquitos. you can not enjoy doing anything outside. Once you make it all the way to the dock fighting off all the biting bugs, it was not as bad out there. But there were no fish because the water was shallow for most of the day. The ants in the kitchen are ridiculous scavengers! They were everywhere. The toilet in the laundry room when flushed would flush onto the floor. Other problems inside were also, THE BUGS. there are so many dead gnats inside that, even after sweeping, they reappeared within hours. That's because of all the cracks around the windows and bad seals at the doors too. you have to keep all the fans running on high or the gnats and noceums would instantly be biting you. The pool was cool and the only source of some fun there. however, because of the holes in the doors to the pool, the mosquitos came in at will. we had such high hopes for a nice week, but here i sit covered in calamine lotion from all the bug bites.

Renting was easy and afordable!. Property was fun and relaxing!

The house was spacious and beautiful but it was so much flies and bees. I couldn’t take my kids outside to play or go to the beach. It was so much ants in the kitchen. I would have appreciate if you guys been tell us about it before renting it to me. We went for 4th July and wanted to bake in the kitchen oven but the oven door wasn’t opening. But otherwise the pool was great and lots of toys for the kids. Thank you!

My family and I spent a week at this house in June 2021. We were looking forward to the trip and relaxing by the pool and having a place to keep our boat during our stay. Unfortunately, the property did not meet our standards. We made the most of our trip and tried to not dwell on the bad things and enjoy the beautiful outdoor surroundings. Pros: - Beautiful location with amazing views of the bay - Pool and sun room were really nice and where we spent most of our time - Lots of space for everyone. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. The house is great for large groups and the beds were comfortable - Very nice dock. The only thing that could be improved is to add a ladder to the dock; it is very hard to get in/out of boat when the tide is low. - Local Crabs – We called Buck, who lives down the lane, to purchase crabs from him during our stay - Kayaks, bikes, life jackets all available to use; however, we did not use them Cons: - Overall disrepair of house. There were many windows on the first floor where the window sills were rotted out and lots of ripped screens. - First floor toilet did not stop running if you didn’t flush it correctly - Ants inside, mostly in the kitchen. There were ants when we arrived even before we got any food out. Due to the ants, we hand-washed every dish immediately after each meal or they would swarm the kitchen. - Upon arrival, wet laundry in washing machine, laundry in dryer and dirty towels on top of dryer. I probably wouldn’t have noticed this, but we couldn’t find wash clothes the first day and finally found them there. - Nails sticking up in the deck around the pool. Had to be careful when walking around the pool so you wouldn’t get a nail in your foot. - House just wasn’t clean – there were dog hairballs on the floors and steps (we didn’t bring a dog). Dirt and dust accumulated on lesser used surfaces and under furniture. Cobwebs in corners and on backs of dining room chairs. Glad we brought cleaning products with us because we used them. - Lighting was wonky; lights would flicker and make noises. We were afraid to turn lights on in the house. - Lawn not mowed, then they mowed while we were there and asked us to move our vehicles. - Holes in furniture covered up by sheets. - What looks to be cameras mounted on the house which was not disclosed to us by the owner. This could be a 5-star location with some improvements of the property and a deep cleaning.

The house is huge and neatly broken up to create various hangout spaces. Wifi is not the strongest but it helps us stay off the screen. Great cookwares and an awesome bbq grill. Pool is small but good for dipping.Sunrises and full-moon are picturesque.Beware of the bug season and plan accordingly. They will swarm you every time you are outside on a warm day.Some improvement to be made: Put screens on all windows (esp. bedrooms) so we can allow fresh air in. On warm nights, 2nd floor central unit can't get the temperature down below 75. On cooler days, it's comfortable.The living room couch is way past its due date. Pls put some covers, or get a new piece.I would recommend this place. Good place to escape and recharge with nature.In case you get bored, there are farmer's markets, a gun range, Ocean City (boat, jet ski rental), and Jane's State Park within 30m-1:15h drive away.

We booked this house for a change of pace (slower) vacation. It afforded us the room and privacy for a group of 9. The house is very large with numerous bedrooms and baths. As we had multiple couples, we needed bedrooms with doors, as opposed to other rentals we have had for larger groups that had the beds required but not the privacy of separate bedrooms. It worked out very nicely in that regard. We also chose the remote location of the house as it is in a beautiful and quiet location with very little, if any, traffic. The kitchen is very well stocked; it may take awhile to find some of the needed items but I guarantee you they are there. The refrigerator is huge. Considering activities, the house has numerous watercraft (unpowered), crab nets, noodles for the pool, etc. The dock is exceptional in it's sturdiness and is long and wide enough to accommodate numerous people and activities such as fishing and crabbing. As mentioned in multiple reviews, the nearest store is a Dollar General about 20 mins away, but there are now numerous gas station quick mart type stores close to the Dollar General. Best to come with about all you need however as it is a bit of a trip just to get something you forgot. There is a Walmart, liquor and beer stores in Pokemoke, which is a bit further. So overall we were very pleased with much of the house with some minor exceptions. The overall cleanliness and attention to detail of the cleaners could be better. And last but not least, some of the furniture needs to be upgraded. Unfortunately due to the weather, we were inside most of the Memorial Day weekend 2021 as there were gale force winds, driving rain and small craft advisories the entire time of our stay.....until of course check out day! So we were sitting around quite a bit more than most guests will be in better weather and we got to know some of the rooms, sectionals, chairs and sofas more than we would have liked. Overall, we had a great time and this house is certainly an 8 out of 10.
