We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Bellaroto. Even before our trip began, we felt well taken care of, as the staff provided us with detailed information about our stay and arranged a driver to meet us at the airport. Once we did arrive, we felt immediately welcome and at home. The room was clean and cozy, with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in a balcony view onto a pedestrian street. Breakfast was provided at an adjacent, authentic Sicilian café and pastry shop. Dozens of other excellent restaurants, along with the famous markets and all other main sights of Palermo, are an easy walk from the property. Another reason to stay at Bellaroto: they operate as part of the Addiopizzo movement, that refuses to pay 'protection' money to organized crime. So honoring them with your business helps contribute to positive change in the community. In every other respect, this was a perfect accommodation in a perfect location that made for an unforgettable visit to Palermo. We hope we can return again soon!

Stylish boutique hotel nestled in a small lane way but close to lots of restaurants with a beautiful mix of modern comforts and yet still has some features of its past with high ceilings, small balcony and restored vaulted ceiling with fresco in our room. We received a coupon each day for our breakfast which was at a restaurant which was a short walk from the hotel called La Martorana ….delicious!

Loved the sesame biscuits, tea and coffee making facilities and the dining/ lounge space.

The management was very accommodating to our needs. Michael helped arrange a private car service to take us to our next Hotel in Catania and was very friendly and provide solid guidance on things to do and places to see. My wife and I would stay there again. Don't let the look from the street fool you... Lovely property inside.

It would have been nice to see a person at the front desk through early evening hours. Our private tours returned between 1700 and 1830 and no one would be around when we left or returned. I resorted to leaving notes on the front desk and they were always answered in a timely fashion... Thank you again Michael for you help and knowledge!

I wish I could tell you what I liked about this hotel because I had read amazing reviews and was so looking forward to staying here. We booked 9 months in advance and 3 weeks prior to travel we were informed that due to a “technical problem with our computer reservation system, we are forced to re-protect your reservation at Bellaroto Suite Palermo at another partner structure a few minutes from ours”. The hotel management bumped us to a different hotel which was NOT of the same standard and was inferior in level of quality. We were totally shocked and could do nothing - there was no other decent alternative accommodation available by this point.

That they canceled our reservation 3 weeks prior to departure and moved us to an inferior accommodation.

The location was fantastic. The accommodation was fantastic. It was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good and it was at a nearby cafe/bakery (we were notified in advance of this). I'd have no hesitation in recommending Bellaroto and would definitely stay there again.

There was very little not to like. The breakfast was very good but it's a pity it wasn't in Bellaroto. The accommodation is up a flight of stairs but we were told in advance when booking so this wasn't a surprise.

Room was lovely, clean and very comfortable. It was great being able to walk to all the places of interest and restaurants.

I can’t tell you, we got advised two days prior to our arrival that they had a system error and they organised alternate accommodation even though we had booked months in advance

Being advised 2 days out that they had a system error and offered less than equivalent accommodation as an alternative at the SAME price as we paid for this.

Location, location, location! The hotel is meters away from Palermo main attractions, just next to the best ever granita in Palermo , yet in a small road that allows it to be very quiet. Super spacious and clean room with a huge toilet. The owner was also extremely helpful in arranging transfer to the airport for us.

Nothing, if not that the charge for 2 people instead of just one was a bit excessive.

The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were comfy. Free coffee machine in the little lobby/kitchenette. It’s in a great location close walk to shops/restaurants and transportation. They helped arrange transportation for us which was a huge help and provided beach towels for us for our day trip to Mondello

There is no elevator for luggage, but we knew that when we booked and managed well enough

Great location. Clean and comfy room and a friendly staff

Hotel is located in a convenient position in the old town area - easy to access all major sites. Rooms are nicely presented and bed was very comfortable. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Private parking is available at 20 Euro per day. Breakfast is provided at a Cafe approx 5 minutes walk away. Not as convenient as onsite dining but the Cafe is excellent and their food and service is really good.

Shower leaked as waterproofing has not been properly completed (only a small problem). Laundry service damaged our clothes as despite the hot weather they tumble dried the clothes which made the cotton and linen clothes shrink significantly (some now too small to wear). Do not use the laundry service.

Clean, historic building in old part of town near many monuments

The proprietor actually raised his voice and yelled bc of a booking error. I booked a junior suite and my friend booked the family room. Both were advertised on Booking. This was a last minute booking. He said only 1 of the rooms was available and that Booking.com made an error. Our 2 families wanted to stay in the same facility however, he said he would not cancel both reservations. When my friend questioned this he became very hostile and raised his voice and yelled at her grown daughter who also interjected. Mind you my friend has to deal with all kinds of people in her line of work and is very diplomatic. It’s not like she became unreasonable or loud. In the end he did have the second room but it wasn’t available until 6:00pm. That’s all he had to say from the beginning. This was not Booking.com fault at all. In all my travels and all my bookings I’ve never encountered someone that talked to a customer like this.

the property manager was excellent about communicating beforehand to navigate the difficulty of driving to the hotel. he helped us arrange parking and answered all our questions. the hotel is a perfect location in the center of town. you can walk to everything. the room was super comfortable. the only issue might be some noise from the street but it didn’t keep us up. would definitely recommend.

Welcoming host, very clean, personal balcony with ability to sit down outside. Comfy beds. Easy to come and go. Perfect place to lay our heads (unfortunately just for one night!)

Great location, small family run accommodation, large comfortable room, great bed, very engaging host with recommendations on what to see and where to eat, very helpful in arranging transportation. Good recommendations for coffee and gelato. Would recommend for anyone wanting to be very central to the historic area of Palermo.

Breakfast location was nearby with good coffee but limited choices for someone like me who wants fruit and yogurt. Other egg and ham choices were good.
