Arthur was a great host who took time to talk about the property and area. Enjoyed the history and beauty of the vineyard. We were the only guests due to the time of year yet we're still provided a large daily breakfast spread.

Rooms could use a television.

I stayed with a group of girlfriends in Sept and we had the most wonderful time. The property is beautiful and so thoughtfully arranged. The wine is to die for and the breakfasts were fabulous. Arthur could not have been any more friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we had a brilliant holiday, even helping us to order a take away and then bringing us ice cream for dessert! We had a lovely day sat by the spring water pool, many hours drinking wine in the sun on the balcony and lots of nice trips locally including to the beach and Guimares. Highly recommend if you want a lovely, relaxing holiday with brilliant wine on tap!

We loved our stay at Quinta da Cancela our little cottage was perfect with lovely views over the garden. Breakfast was utterly delicious. Arthur gave us such a wonderful welcome and was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

my partner and I had a fantastic stay at Quinta La Cancela. Our host Arthur helped us get the most out of our stay and went above and beyond in helping us with our hastily arranged and late night BBQ.

We spent 4 days at Arthur's and couldn't be happier. The whole property is well thought out so that there is plenty to explore and all guests can retreat easily. The pool and the relaxation corners in the garden invite you to stay and relax. Everything is very picturesque. The rich breakfast fulfilled all our wishes and also catered for special dietary requirements. We especially liked the local ingredients from the garden like tomatoes and figs. We have to say that Arthur's open and friendly way, the great property and the hospitality exceeded all our expectations. The wine tasting of the house's own wines under the vines is also highly recommended. Simply idyllic. We will definitely be back.

This place is an experience you’ll never forget! From the moment you arrive, you are taken care of. We received a tour of the property including the wine making process. Everything is so beautiful... The common spaces, the vineyard, the pool, the room. Also the owner and his family are wonderful. They go above and beyond to make sure you have an excellent stay.

Personal approach. The owner Arthur was always available for questions, advice and small extras much appreciated (lemonade and crisps at the pool).

A historic bed is very charming but rather small for two adults.
