Great service, great banana pancakes and really close to nice restaurants and sights

The overall experience was quite amazing. First time I visited the property and they were extremely accommodating throughout the stay. We arrived quite late and when we called to check whether this was okay, Lahiru volunteered to stay late to make sure we got in okay. Rooms were quite spacious and the property is clean and beautifully maintained. All amenities provided were working and as it was a working-holiday for me, there were plenty of nooks and crannies around the place I could sit and work from. Would definitely be going back.

The food served at the property could do with a bit of variety, and keep with the overall vibe of the location. Some of the plug points inside the room were not functional, which was a bit of an issue when we wanted to charge our devices.

Cozy, clean and beautiful rooms. The staff was friendly. It was very close to Pedlar streetand the fort. ( As I travelled alone, easy and quick access to these two places were important for me) Loved the breakfast too. It was very calm and quiet. Will go back again. Loved the overall vibe there.

Nice located in the heart of the Fort, lovely breakfast, lovely staff.

The room felt very damp and smelly locked in basement. There was a mosquito problem in the room even with a AC. It could have helped with a mosquito net over the bed. Ask for a room 2. Floor, we was at the 1.level.

I love everything about this property from when I first walked in staff was amazing, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place. Oh breakfast was beautiful too. Five stars all the way.

Friendly staff and lot of good places to eat at a walking distance.

One day one there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room because of which we couldn't sleep all night. The following day staff smoked the room to get rid of mosquitoes. But, the smoke was so heavy that it made difficult to breathe and all our clothes were smelling because of the it.

Good breakfast. Room was clean and arranged.

Staff were not in night. There is no parking for vehicle.

Beautiful little boutique hotel perfectly located. Our stay in Galle was surprisingly pleasant and the host helped us with many things including transportation.

Breakfast could have been a bit better in line with others we had in Sri Lanka but still good. Though the breakfast table setting was one of the best.

The kindness of the host and the good location

We booked this hotel, but we’re taken to the sister hotel called Parawara House which is exactly the same as Small House and only two doors away. It has the same owners. The owner offered us downstairs rooms because my friend has mobility challenges and we appreciated that. It was central and had a small garden and a pet rabbit. Outside seating was comfortable. AC and ceiling fans were great.

My friend’s room was double the size of mine, but we were charged the same and the fee was actually higher than quoted on Booking.com. We were charged in US dollars that were converted into rupees and this did not match the currency conversion. The difference was about 2000, so I let it go. I only realised later that I had not been given my change after I paid. This is the first place that hasn’t provided us with a welcome drink and when we requested juice, we were charged for it. In the morning, we saw no one until our breakfast arrived and we went out and bought our own coffee and milk so that we could have a hot drink. Teabags and creamer are provided. Breakfast was good but we were not offered a choice. My friend’s shower only ran with tepid water, although mine was hot. She also had an issue with the sink tap, but this was fixed. The top sheet on my bed was torn. The internet did not work in my room and even my phone struggled to get a signal. There was only a few pieces of toilet paper left, and none in the cupboard. Fortunately, I’m okay with the spray hose. There is no refrigerator in the rooms that I saw.

This guest House really did meet my needs, it was quiet and charming with a really well thought out rooms and spaces. I was coming from a stressful period and needed somewhere that allowed me to decompress, this place was the perfect place to do it.

the hosts are amazing! they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy. They kept us updated with government power cuts throughout our stay.The building itself is stunning and full of charm! Breakfast is the best we have had in Sri Lanka with loads of local fruit. Finally the location is insane, so close to everything you would want to see.

The whole place was stunning! We loved our room, it was spacious and beautifully decorated with colonial style furnishings. The bathroom was huge! Everything was spotless! We also had a beautiful outside courtyard seating area and access to a kitchen too! I would highly recommend this hotel! The staff at the hotel were kind, helpful and genuinely cared about our stay! Everything was also walking distance to all of the main sites in the fort. We can't wait to come back and stay here again!

This place is beautiful. so much prettier than a regular hotel. The staff were super accommodating and the breakfast was excellent. it’s also an easy cab drive to great beaches and very close to very nice reataurants

The breakfast was tasty, cafe service was great.

Photos on booking.com and the real rooms are different. We booked room with bath (it was important and bath was the only reason to choose this hotel), but when we arrived - we saw small room with shower, and the host told us, there is no bathes anymore. Then we faced with power outage for hours. It was hot and scary. We couldn’t charge our devices, air condition didn’t work, and also THERE WAS NO WATER during the outage. We were hardly disappointed because while we were staying there — the power and the water were only for few hours. So, sad and dirty, we continued our trip to another location.
