Right on the canal, 5 munute walk to restaurants, very welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable room, great breakfast. One of the best places I've stayed in a very long time and can't recommend highly enough!

The hotel is in a beautiful location beside the canal. parking was relatively easy to find and is free after 19:00 and all day on Sundays. Our room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. If was at the front of the hotel overlooking the canal which was beautiful. The hotel is really quiet which was exactly what we were looking for. The breakfast was good. Although the croissants were not good at all. The staff were good and brought us extra pancakes when we asked.

The breakfast room lacks ambiance. It is a bit small and the tables are very close together so impossible to talk without everyone hearing your conversation.

I loved the way the hotel looks, more a homely feeling. The staff is wonderful. And that you have free tea & coffee. Also the location is perfect.

If I have to mention something, it was the strange placement of the bed lamps. Hanging in a spot you definitely will bump your head to. Which we both did.

Having been born and raised ~500 meters from this location, I felt at home immediately. The entrance, the ambience - it all breathes the atmosphere from the era, where Schiedam was still the center of jenever distillation and the harbour ("Lange Haven") still was actually used as such. Checkin rather late at night (Sorry you had to wait for us!) but nevertheless very friendly! Reception the next morning even better: friendly young man at the desk, helpful and good humoured. Superb! As this still is an old Dutch house (Or was rebuilt as such): MIND THE STAIRS! Yes, that's the way stairs were built back then - take care and all is well. (Hope our neighbour's backside recovered from his "descendance" - he won't be running down those stairs again) All in all: 9,9 out of 10 points!

A really minor issue: Why weren't the two (2! for 2 adults and 2 children) teabags we used replaced the next day? As we got back home later at night, we really would have loved a cup of tea - only to find, they weren't restocked.

My only bugbear was obviously built for tall Dutch people as all the shelves, hooks, etc were very high (had to stand on tiptoe to put towel on hook).

Wonerful place. I was so surprised when we got closer and closer to the hotel. The sorounding area was so quiet and kind of fabulous with the evening lights. The hotel and the room extremely clean and tastefully arranged with a lot of small pretty details. The service very friendly, breakfast tasty and fresh, very good coffee. Generally all good. Will definitely come back.

we enjoyed our stay in Schiedam, it’s a quiet and beautiful city however very close to Rotterdam. everything was perfect. great and always helpful staffs.

The hotel was really clean and the staff were lovely and really helpful, they provided great service. The location is very pretty with the hotel located on a canal.

This is not a 4* hotel,this is a bed and breakfast. There is no dinner or room service, or even 24hr reception. The bed was much too soft for me, and the pillow too hard v- I did not sleep well. The shower leaked water into the bathroom due to a design fault. We had booked a room with a view, but were upgraded to a room without a view so couldn't enjoy the canal view. There was no chance to downgrade as our original room had been let as well.

Great location in the old part of Rotterdam yet 15 min by bike to the centre. Also very cute kids loft.

Pretty location on the canal - opposite the gin and chocolate museums, and round the corner from Divine Bites for Indian plant based snacks. Comfortable, clean and contemporary style. Good breakfast, which was especially nice for chatting to others who, like us, had also come for the North Sea Jazz Festival.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was great, exactly what I was expecting. The mini-bar had local treats such as Gin made in Schiedam which was lovely. The canal view was gorgeous. We found it very romantic.

The air-conditioning, which I upgraded the room for, turned off around midnight, so that was upsetting seeing as the temperature was very hot that evening. Also, the elevator was broken, so we had to carry our (heavy) luggage up two flights of stairs. When we went down for breakfast (about 40mins before end time) almost all the egg and warm foods were gone and weren't replaced at all. That could have been better.

Hotel locates directly on canal, at town historical center, quiet canal bank street. Clean hotel, good breakfast, welcome staff.

Narrow public spaces, rooms are not spacious. Some same level (same price) rooms strictly different by size.
