The bed was terrible, sore backs the next day, the 1950s old wall radio crackled all night. Dirty pillowcase, room smelt. Advertised as pool view, no cabins have pool view. Upon arrival, we were told our vehicle will not fit under the elevated cabin and we had to park on the street. The helpful groundsman spoke with the owner about leaving my car on the campsite opposite where id parked to unpack and I was told they were fully booked but I could pay $32/night for the campsite for my car. After paying, there were still 7 campsites available that night and still in the morning!!! We did not stay our 2nd night.

The ground staff were great, polite and very friendly. The pool was really great as well and very clean so a big point on that! The cabin itself was ok but definitely not to the standard of other cabins.

We booked a water view villa online but were allocated an internal villa with views of the garbage storage area and the back of the villa in front of us. We had a 'glimpse' view of the water from a certain spot on the veranda When we spoke to the onsite staff the next day (we checked in late after 7pm so the office was closed at the time of check in and we were sure we could resolve it the next morning) we were told to take it up with the booking website, it had nothing to do with the office and that the complex was full. We then spent 3 days looking at 4 empty villas in front of us (so much for fully booked). Although we appreciate this may have been an error somewhere along the booking process - there was no attempt made to rectify the situation with us the next day, we were given no options (ie if the booking was incorrect, we could have paid extra to get what we wanted). We were simply dismissed. We have stayed in other similar villas with other parks along Ocean Road so this experience was subpar in many ways and very disappointing. We don't write lengthy reviews often but we felt lied to and ignored - so we are writing this in the hope that others don't experience the same.

Everything is well maintained and very clean.

Elevated cabin rooms are small and cramped. Not the fault of the park however using booking.com gave me a false sense as to what I was booking. Images showed other Big 4 Park with all the play equipment and facilities for kids. This park did not have these.

Location was GREAT

When I BOOKED through a BOOKING AGENT the night before, the money was not transferred IMEDINATELY., so next Morning I received a phone call from the Big 4 reception, demanding that I transfer. The money directly into the Big 4 account, or to cancel the booking. I tried to explain that the money had already been taken from my bank account, I WAS TOLD TO BE QUIET, very rudely. I transferred the money as DEMANDED. I have BEEN CHARGE TWICE for the room, so I will go to consumer affairs and demand they fight for my second payment back from the BIG4 Holiday Park

There was nothing I didn't like.

The location was amazing. Plenty of places to explore by walking and short drive to shops. The park was clean and the pool and kids playground was toddler friendly which was really enjoyable. The bbqs were clean with spacious seating.

I booked a '2 bedroom villa' which looked great on the booking.com site, however on arrival we discovered this actually meant an 'elevated ensuite' which was a small cabin located on stilts (car parked under cabin). Having to navigate steep, tall stairs with a 20 month old was painful and anxiety inducing. The Park staff were unable to assist with another cabin and suggested we knew it was elevated at time of booking. We did not. there is no mention of stairs anywhere on the booking.com site. Very disappointing and marred an otherwise enjoyable holiday.
