Excellent location and breakfast

Staff were amazing! We were doing a long hike, leaving early in the morning. The kitchen staff went out their way to make us breakfast on the go, which we loved. the following day I had smoked haddock and scrambled egg for breakfast which was delicious. the porridge was also delicious. Bed was very comfortable

Breakfast was excellent and dinner too. All food was home cooked and the menu was varied. The Hotel was spotless, bedding and towels provided were clean and fresh. Good showers and the owners were very accommodating and all staff friendly. We had requested a room that hadn’t had dog or cat in due to Asthma and the Manager assured us the room we had never had animals in . We would stay there again as we visit the area on a regular basis .

We specifically asked for a quiet room but we were given room 1 which is basically the noisiest room in the hotel being right at the top of the stairs near the bar!! On top of this there was a halloween party which we were not made aware of in advance. There was music thumping until midnight which was sending me crazy, along with the noise of the patrons!! Very unhappy considering my request for a quiet room!

Owners & all staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely rustic pub. How a pub should be. Housekeeping/rooms immaculate. Food great. Huge breakfast if required! Great atmosphere and setting in the heart of the Lakes. Will be back. Jason & daughter Anastasia.

A little lacking in communication. The main door is locked at night. Apparently the room key will open the main door but no mention of it anywhere. Evening meals only average. Breakfast fine.

The location was perfect for a relaxing break. The breakfast was delicious and good quality bacon, eggs and sausage. All staff were friendly and welcoming.

Evening menu was limited and the layout / small laminated menu was off-putting. The rooms do need an upgrade - the bathroom was excellent, but some of the furniture in the room is looking a little tired.
