Had a wonderful time at Minpaku Hiraizumi. The room was impeccably clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and the hosts were extremely nice. Will definitely come back.

For international travelers, remember to withdraw cash before coming to Hiraizumi as this guesthouse is cash only and there are no ATMs taking international cards within the city.

I have no words to describe the wonderful experience we had here. We spent 4 nigths at the beggining of June, Hiraizumi is just beautiful and the accommodation was perfection: The immaculate room, the most fantastic breakfast, the care and affection the owners treated us. It was a dream come true. A privilege to stay here. We can’t wait to come back again

The room was a beautifully traditional Japanese room. The Facilities were great, easy to use. The best part about my stay were the hosts. They were so kind and went out of there way to help me. Very grateful for there generosity.

Well located to explore Hiraizumi, warm and friendly hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay great with advice on the local area and facilities. They even reimbursed us for our trip to the local onsen and cleared the snow from our car when we left! We were sorry to go and will come again. Thank you!

As others have said, the hosts are amazing and kind and generous. It was our first time in a traditional Japanese house (tatami mats, futon mattresses on the floor, etc). Everything was perfect. Two fun local pubs a short walk away.

First of all the owners of this guesthouse are one of the nicest, thoughtful people I have ever met in my life. They are easy to talk to and help you with anything you might have a question about.

I could not take a bath at the property. instead I could go to a nice onsen nearby!

The hosts are the most amazing people in the world. They were super nice and helpful. The room is quite big and very comfortable. Also the hosts go out of their way to provide anything you may need; they even offered to pay for the Onsen so you can enjoy it after a day of walking. I fully recommend anyone staying at Hiraizumi to stay here.

What can I say? This is the perfect Japanese house. Super nice hosts. Japanese style bedroom. Great onsen just 5 mn away. Small attentions. Perfect breakfast (one you would pay half the price of this room at any 4 stars hotel in Tokyo). Good advice about restaurants and stuff. Easy going people. The kind of place you'll remember when you're away from Japan.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts: for those who like Japanese style onsen (hot springs) they drive you to and from one or the other spots in town, and even pay the fee on your behalf! They also take you to Chuson-ji as well as Hiraizumi World Heritage Information Center. With the former there is a steep uphill climb, so it's a blessing to take a leisurely walk down (it's still steep, however). Not only is the place close to the train station, but also to Motsu-ji and Kanjizai-oin, both of which are fantastic remains of the glories of the 12th-century Fujiwara clan. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. They are mom's homemade Japanese food. It's obvious that the hosts enjoy running the inn: they've welcomed visitors from 54 countries so far. Hiraizumi is one of the most historically mportant places in Japan to visit, and I can't wait to go back to the inn!

This is truly the best place to stay. the location is perfect. The old house had been beautifully refurbished, and the owners are the nicest people! Attention is payed to the smallest details. They made me feel very welcome and were very helpful in every way. It was clean, safe, and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. special food requests were thoughtfully considered. The local onsen is close by which was nice in the evening. I will long remember my night here fondly.

Very cosy place and warm welcome!

The host are very very friendly people and treated me like a family member. Morning breakfast was really delicious and was fed really well so much so that i didnt have to eat lunch even after good hike. Location is also nice close to station and motsuji temple. They even took me around chusen ji temple to show night illumination on full moon day. Beautiful memories to cherish for lifelong. Really thank them from bottom of heart!
