never got hot water but did not bother us

Everything was as expected. Nothing exceptional, but nothing bad.

Shower was cold, tough or restricted entries. I assume this was because of security. So better to be secure than easy entry.

The hotel and the staff were amazing.

This is NOT a town for tourists. The food and water is very sketchy. We were super mindful of our food choices, there were a lot that weren't a person in a hut making food with dirty facilities. We still ended up with severe food sickness. We ended up seeing a doctor at the airport and when we told him what town we were in he said it's not good to go there. It also wasn't very safe. You can't carry a bag or you could get robbed. We walked the beach one night at sunset, lots of trash on the beach, and ended up back after dark. They had locked up the hotel tight and we had to ring a bell. They said you shouldn't be out here it's very dangerous. We wish we had known all of this before going.

Fantastic staff, very attentive and professional. The beach access and the outdoor facilities are beaitiful. The view from the balcony in the room was great.

The rooms are very small, it is hard to have more than 2 people inside them. Also, the towels are tiny and not good to take down to the beach if needed. I didn't think it was necessary for the hotel to charge an additional $2 per extra towel you request, it feels like a normal necessity that doesnt need an extra charge.

The staff was great Very clean rooms. Definitely a place to go to if you just want to relax, decompress, unwind and want a private beach. The Ceviche from the man with a cat on the beach was AMAZING!!

This wasn't a place that you could walk anywhere to. Simply a place to relax peacefully.

Tiny room, just enough size to squeeze around the double bed. Comically there was a desk.

All in all an average facility. I had a run-in with the night manager who refused to give me a top sheet (they do the thing where the duvet-cover is supposed to be the sheet). She insisted she must report why an extra sheet is needed and didn't think my reply "because a guest would like one" was sufficient. Maybe there's a rash of sheet-stealing in Playas, I couldn't say.
