This homes is one of the most premier locations/ ocean view in Santa Cruz. Every day we sat in our own private yard and watched the surfers - and marine life. We would bring meals back vs dining out- as we had the best window dining view in town. The host/ owner was an expert in her knowledge of Santa Cruz. We appreciate her showing us the property upon arrival. Super friendly and engaging. We had the most relaxing getaway.

We enjoyed staying with you! The house is beautiful! Very comfortable and well stocked! Loved being able to walk in the beach every morning and sitting out watching the ocean and the surfers at other times! Will definitely be back!

The place is in a great location but still feels secluded. It's on the cliff 100 yards from a walking path, right by 41st street with shops and restaurants, close to surfing. Capitola is only about 1 mile away. The house is well stocked with linens, kitchen items, etc. The property management was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the outdoor space needed work. The grass was overgrown, full of weeds and dying. There were a lot of cobwebs, the potted plants were dead, the tables were dirty, etc. Management started watering and had a gardener come at our request so they did respond quickly to our dissatisfaction about the yard. All and all, a great place.

This was a wonderful place to have Thanksgiving. The host has taken great care to ensure every guests needs can be met.

I’ve never met a manager on property, but we are so glad we did. We were welcomed with open arms and could not have felt more at home. Marilyn, the property manager whose family owns the place, showed us around like a real estate agent- because she is one. It made us appreciate every little detail even more. My wife and I got married that weekend and we decided to getaway with friends just before. The house is gorgeous— and much bigger than the pictures make it seem. It was also built in the 30’s so the details of the architecture melted my heart. This is one of the largest plots on the whole street. One of the largest backyards, perfect view of the surf, and a 5 minute walk to Private’s beach- where we took some wedding related photos. This house had absolutely everything we needed- especially in the kitchen. Marilyn provided us with champagne and supplies for S’mores (Reese’s too!) for the bonfire pit. There was wood as well. Though, word to the wise, me mindful of the dew. We built the bonfire in the afternoon so all we had to do was light it later, but by sundown the dew soaked our kindling/cardboard. Maybe bring lighter fluid just in case. Also, I made the mistake of opening all of the blinds when we woke up before our friends arrived and it warmed up the house too much. I don’t suggest opening the blinds until you are truly up and about and in the space. We loved the space and our experience so much, we have every intention of renting this space again. It is so close to all of the commerce on 41st street. A hop, skip and a jump to Capitola Village. We had a few friends bring their surf gear and hit the water- they said it was perfect. Not one negative thing to say about the home or our host- two thumbs up! (And I had forgotten a small item at the house and was able to easily coordinate a pick up- Marilyn really went above and beyond- she felt like family).

We scheduled a girls weekend here and spent the whole time at the house. We had planned to leave and at least walk around the area, but the view was so amazing we decided to just enjoy the house. There were so many surfers to watch and when they weren't there, we spotted a few sea otters. We spent time on both patios, all rooms, cooked a few great meals and had lots of time by the firepit. Couldn't have asked for a better spot to hang out with friends and catch up for a weekend. Marylin was great to work with and very responsive too. Thanks for a great weekend!

We loved staying at Opal Cliffs, the location is absolute paradise. Walking distance to amazing beaches and restaurants. The views are stunning and the house is big, clean and cozy. We were a big group of 6 adults with 3 kids and the only draw back was that there are really only 2 private bedrooms. So ideally the house is perfect for up to 4 adults.. but we made it work! Still loved IT!

We had a fantastic time celebrating my wife’s 50th. The Opal Cliff estate was amazing. Back yard that would end into a 40 foot plunge onto the rocks had amazing views. The sound of the crashing waves against the rocks would about put you to sleep after a full day of fun activities. The Big Basin Redwood forest about 45 minutes away was a must see. The house was cute as could be with great views from multiple rooms whether you were staring at the ocean or the beautiful foliage all around the back yard. Our host was extremely gracious and I know she would have done anything we asked if a problem arose. There was never a need. Wish we could have had more down time to enjoy the estate but with wine country tours, bungee jumping, Hitting the forest we didn’t relax a whole lot. We did enjoy the glory of a raging fire pit overlooking the ocean a time or two, drinking champagne and making s’mores provided by our gracious host. It was a trip of a lifetime.

The ladies in our family needed a break! We chose Opal Cliffs for the location and floor plan. We were not disappointed! Room and privacy for all. Youngsters had a room to play games, all of us were able to help prepare meals without bumping in to each other. Lovely home, beautiful location.

This was an incredible property in the perfect location. Park your car and walk everywhere. Leave your troubles behind. Can’t wait to stay again.

What a great property, great location. My family weekend turned out to be a memorable one. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this charming house. Walked to the beach each day, fireside chats, and great to hang out in the beautiful backyard overlooking the ocean. Thanks to Marilyn who checked us in! She was great!

This is the second time we’ve stayed on Opal Cliff Drive. This is an amazing house and it’s kid friendly. The view overlooking the Monterey Bay is undescribable. The view is from Moss Landing over to Pacific Grove with surfers and See otters in between. We spent the evening around the fire pit enjoying conversation and listening to the waves crash just below us, perfect evening. We will definitely be back to this property in particular. The property manager met us for a walk-through and was very informative about nearby points of interest. She was also available by phone throughout our stay. 5 Stars

We booked this property to celebrate a surprise birthday. The entire process was easy and the property exceeded our expectations. Sunrise and sunset views are mesmerizing! Property manager, Marilyn, is what made this experience so pleasantly exceptional. within few minutes of our call, she, and her husband Joe, came over late at night to address our questions, making sure everything works to our satisfaction. it was great to actually talk with a real person as opposed to leaving numerous messages on some answering machine. Can't wait to reserve this place for our next family gathering.

The property is wonderful...furnished beautifully. Only a couple of very minor issues but the owner was there immediately to take care of the problem. Great home for large family. Plenty of sleeping space. All linens, top quality. We enjoyed our stay, and will return.

We just spent a wonderful few days in this great house. It was the perfect location to celebrate my daughters birthday. The large kitchen made it easy to prepare meals while the others keep busy playing games from the game room or sitting out by the fire pit enjoying the ocean. There was something for everyone!!
