Location was nice and the house was fitted out appropriately for the number of people staying.

The house was very damp. The large room downstairs had condensation on the windows when we arrived and was very musty. Clothes got damp and cold just being in the room. Could open windows during the day which helped but we weren't home during the day. Insect screens were damaged and ill-fitting. There were no security grills so could not have windows open when we were out or at night. Air-con didn't help much, although turning on the electric blankets made the sheets feel less clammy. There were no insect screens on upstairs windows so rooms fillled with moths when the lights were on. The musty smell from downstairs was also noticeable upstairs. The house needs moisture extraction fans, particularly downstairs. The carpets also needed vacuuming.

Great location close to Maleny centre- a few minutes’ drive; beautiful sweeping views from lovely big windows (though windows desperately need fly screens to keep out the bugs- not all bedrooms are air-conditioned so it’s nice to have the windows open but then the bugs invade quickly and in swarms!); older style house but very comfortable and good value for money for two families; very spacious and bedrooms are very large; three bathrooms but there are some plumbing and drainage issues which were to be rectified though this was not a major issue for us; kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and crockery etc; barbecue worked well and the huge decks were lovely to sit out on; nice little touches such as a coffee pod machine and pods and household staples like salt/pepper/cling wrap; portacot and high chair provided was extremely useful; host approved an early check in which was great for our little ones; overall very comfy home which is family-friendly and a great base to explore Maleny and surrounds. Would not visit in height of summer but definitely would love to go back in winter to make the most of the beautiful views and fire pit in the cosy lounge room!

Hot tub was not functional during our stay. Host made no attempt to address. First morning I rang and left a message that it was not working. This call was not returned. That night i rang again, the response was "nothing I can do". I asked if an electrician could check it out the next day. Next day a handyman comes around, nothing changed. When i rang the host again, "sorry, there was nothing i could do". The host made not attempt to resolve it. We booked this house because it had a hot for our winter get away. The family was disappointed that we didn't get what we paid for. I requested a partial refund, but the host only thinks it's worth $100 for three nights, eg only $33 per night(i am yet to receive any refund - i doubt i will receive it). So if you are booking this place, is the hot tub only worth $33 dollars per night? maybe consider somewhere else. Additionally, at the time of our stay the house was missing a smoke detector on the main level. This was also noted by another guest a few months ago. I believe that this is against the requirements of the QLD smoke alarm laws. I have raised this issue through messaging with booking.com, not sure if they will follow up. Additionally, if you are booking this place think, "great, it has board games and dvds", then you will be disappointed... none were found at the house. There was one and a half decks of cards and also a VHS of "Babe".

One of our party is a firefighter who wasn't happy about the lack of smoke alarms. And the WiFi was non-existent.

There was plenty of space for our family to sleep. The kitchen was well equipped. BBQ was good. Loved it that there was ample cleaning products, toilet paper and shower products. Loved the spa. Wifi was good.

The main bathroom flooded when showering. Couldn't find switch to turn off spa easily. The lights didn't work in spa area. The light in single bed room worked when it felt like it. The fridges temperature didnt seem to be right , our goods didnt freeze when checked18hrs later. The window and window ledgers werent the cleanest in the lounge room which took away from the beautiful view. The foor wasn't clean. Couldn't find clothes line.
