We had a great experience at Heidi’s place. My son turned 17 want to go snow skiing so we booked Heidi’s place and it was great hospitality easy chicken close to everything very clean very Homie. Heidi was awesome. She went over and beyond for our family and make sure we had a great day. Definitely will be booking with her again.

My daughter and I went to Sugar Mountain for a quick ski trip and stayed at Heidi’s place. It was wonderful. It was the perfect size for two people and was less than five minutes from the slopes. The condo was well stocked and had everything we needed. It was one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed in. My daughter loved the fireplace. Heidi was a great host and made sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be back. Thanks Heidi!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful condo. It was very cute and the location was amazing. Very close to skiing, Food Lion and so many activities whether you're visiting summer or winter. Heidi even has some condiments in the fridge and spices which we utilized when we made spaghetti. Very convenient. She even supplied doggie bags for our pets. She didn't seem to forget anything. Love that she has a blow dryer and shampoo too. We brought our 2 dogs along and they loved walking around the area. It would be perfect for a couple or even 4 people. We had 5 and it was a bit tight even though we brought a single blow up mattress. With 1 bed and 1 pull out, you'd either have to sleep 3 in one bed or bring a single sized blow up mattress. We made it work so it wasn't an issue for us. Just be aware if you have more than 4 people.

Traveled with my husband, 2 teenagers, and our dog. The cabin was perfect for us. It is small but has everything that you need (full kitchen, sheets, towels, blankets). Everything was super clean. The heating works very well (this is very important for me since I don't like cold). The location is excellent, very close to Sugar Mountain Resort, where we went skiing, and the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, a unique experience that I recommend for the whole family. The communication with Heidi was excellent, she responded quickly and was willing to answer any question at any time, she also gave us good recommendations for the area. There is a grocery store very close. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Mountain Getaway!
I spent three lovely days in this sweet condo and was so pleased with every aspect of the rental. The price was very affordable, I had great communication with the owner, the condo was just as described, clean, nicely decorated, and with everything we needed available. The location was also great, very close to Banner Elk, Grandfather, Sugar Mtn, Valle Crucis, and Roan Mtn Tennessee. A delightful stay and I hope to visit again soon. Thank you, Heidi!!

Little mountain chalet, great value
This small condo is right in the middle of all the areas of interest in this part of NC--minutes from Sugar Mtn, Beech Mtn, Grandfather Mtn, Banner Elk, Boone, Valle Crucis (original Mast General store), Blowing Rock, lots of wineries, galleries, restaurants, etc. It is not hanging off the side of an isolated mountain road with wide vistas, but rather is conveniently located off the main road heading into Banner Elk (rt 184). However, even without the wide vistas, the setting is serene, with the little condo chalets nestled into surrounding trees; there is also a little stream/brook in front of this unit that feeds into the Elk River a couple hundred yards away and across the road. The unit is small, but very functional for two (or 4 if you're real friendly), with a small LR, deck, and galley kitchen on the 2nd floor and the bedroom and full bath on the 3rd floor (another unit below on 1st floor, but nothing else above this unit). There is a wood burning fireplace in the LR/kitchen area. Note that there is no dishwasher or A/C, so if these are essentials for you, this may not be the place; however, given the location, with exception of the hottest of summer days, the cool mountain air makes A/C unnecessary. It is well appointed and had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. The host (Heidi) is extremely responsive and helpful and clearly wants to make sure that you have all the info you need to enjoy your time in the area. Overall, this unit is a great value in a good location to visit this part of NC.

Perfect Location
Thank you so much Heidi. This awesome property provided everything I was searching for. A quiet, laid back area that is extremely dog-friendly and full of adventure. Staying here was such a positive and unforgettable experience. If I had to point anything out, I would suggest to put fresh strings on the guitar :)). But besides that, everything exceeded expectations!

Very cute
Close to everything; Sking/snowboarding/tubing, gem mining, hiking… the condo was cute and Heidi was super nice. I did think there was more than one bed since the bed was pictured multiple times in the listing with different sheets, but we have small kids so they didn’t mind sleeping on the pull out couch. Being there a week I wish there would’ve been somewhere to store clothes like a small closet or dresser so we didn’t have the mess of living out of the suitcase, but other than that it was a clean, convenient place to vacation in Sugar mountain area.

Love this stay woth my family
The location was perfect for sugar mountain activities we got to see snow. Everything is was clean and comfy. Theres a small river canal in front of the cabine so beautiful everything was so peaceful. We came from Orlando fl driving to this and no regrets we loved are stay and vacation. Great Weekend Get Away
This is a really unique apartment in that it is split level with the living area downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. This unit was excellent and is located essentially just across the road from the entrance to Sugar Mtn ski slopes. This location is excellent especially during the winter. Overnight, about 6" of snow fell and the roads inside the community were promptly plowed. The fireplace was awesome and much appreciated with temperatures in the low teens and single digits. I definitely would stay here again.

Great place for a good price.
I enjoyed Heidi's place in Banner Elk. It was near the entrance to Sugar Mountain and close to restaurants and grocery stores. Heidi has everything you need for a cozy trip. You can buy firewood at the local Food Lion and the fireplace is a nice comfort! You can see the Ski Trails from the small deck. Great for a couple or a few friends, even a small family.

Heidi’s communication and suggestions were excellent. Everything is as it is described and we had no issues. Ideal for a couple but I think it would feel crowded if you had 4 adults. Location is a plus since it is real close to the entrance to Sugar Mountain and still close to Banner Elk and Beech.

Charming gem centrally located
This was our first time in North Carolina with my family and three kids 7, 12 and 15. We came to ski and explore the area. We had the best time! When we first walked in the place was very clean, had everything we needed to use for the week cute patio on the second story overlooking Sugar Mountain. Not to mention the little fireplace in the upstairs bedroom was so charming. Heidi was amazing responded within minutes to any questions that we had. Most of all love the location we wanted to see Beech Mountain, grandfather mountain, Boone and blowing rock and we were within 15 minutes from it all. Sugar Mountain and the alpine rollercoaster is across the street. We had a wonderful time and will be back again. Thank you Heidi!

Fabulous quick trip
Heidi's Hideout was the perfect place for our small family. The location is perfectly situated right where all the action is but tucked away and peaceful. Heidi is a superb hostess and everything we needed was in the condo. Such nice decor and extremely clean accommodations, we felt like we were home away from home.

First, Heidi is the single best host I have ever interacted with--engaging and communicative without being overbearing, and helpful from the minute the reservation was accepted with recommendations that we gladly took her up on.
The property itself is great, located in some of the most beautiful countryside in the United States. A very cozy retreat for a couple, everything was immaculate on the inside. It felt like a chalet in the woods and was everything one needed when coming back from a long day of exploring the area.
I absolutely will be coming back sometime in the future. :)

Weekend away in the mountains
We came to the property for some hiking and being in the Boone/Blowing Rock/Sugar Mountain area. The location of the house was in an area we were looking for, easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking trails. Communication was super easy with the owner, she was very attentive and responded quickly to all questions we had prior to the visit as well as during. The parking was a bit small as there were multiple families near us with multiple cars. The house was super clean and had most of the things necessary for cooking meals.

Tropical Storm Fred Did Us In!
Rain followed us to Banner Elk from Florida and never stopped. Power outages, tornado warnings, flood warnings, closed restaurants & fallen trees added to the fun.?This is NOT a reflection of the property. It was lovely and perfectly located.
We’ve been to Banner Elk before, and would rent here again. The owner is a delightful person and gave many tips on things to do. But we couldn’t do them in the rain.

Highland Games Weekend
My teenage daughter and I stayed here during the Grandfather MountIn Highland Games in July so she could compete in Scottish dance.
This place was perfect! Heidi’s communication is so great and she recommended places for us to go, where to eat, and sent a message to wish my daughter luck each day.
The Chalet was exactly as described and was wonderful. It was a great space, was clean, in a good area, and close to everything.

Superb (June 7-11, 2021)
The chalet was absolutely adorable, clean, close to everything we wanted to see and stocked better then any other rental we have stayed at. We ate most of our meals out but could of cooked great meals with such a well stocked kitchen. The bed was excellent and the rest of the chalet very clean. There were plenty of towels and blankets if needed. We visited Grandfather Mt and winery, Banner Elk winery and Boone. We will definitely be going back. The Mast store is a must see as well as car rides through the mountains. Antique stores were pretty good too. Recommend the Highlander Grill, Stonewall restaurant and just about any breakfast place. It was so peaceful we didn't even turn on the TV one time! Who needs TV when you had mother nature to listen to?! Thanks Hiedi for a great week.
