A wonderful well appointed cosy cottage

We and our dog Ruby very much enjoyed our stay in this beautifully restored 19th century cottage. It has everything you need to relax and recharge after a day of site seeing. Recommend 100 percent to fellow travellers on the Great Ocean Road,

Relaxing, comfortable, very clean accommodation

A real find this beautifully renovated cottage is perfect in every way. Ideal for a couple with their dog. An ideal location too and Cate and John were great hosts giving us lots of good advice on places to visit and eat.

This lovely cottage exceeded expectations. It was beautifully appointed. The linen was superb, the bed was super comfortable and what a delight to hear the wind in the trees outside as you drifted to sleep.

Friendly hosts and great location not a large place but comfortable

Easy to find and well located to Town, beach and Wharf. The accommodation was suitable for our needs with friendly hosts. Would recommend it 😁

Cate welcomed us with the lights and heater on and the fire ready to go. She was very helpful with her knowledge of the area and in particular, places to eat. Everything I can think of was supplied; even a champagne stopper (I forgot mine so was very pleasantly surprised to find one in the drawer), chilled filtered water in the fridge and treats in the cupboard. The cottage was furnished beautifully and the shower was extra large with good pressure. The location was great too. Thanks Cate and John for your hospitality. We loved ‘The Dog House’.

Terrific little cottage with all the charm Port Fairy offers. Hosts Caty and John were very easy to deal with and provided the perfect setting for our stay. Everything was beautifully presented and their suggestions for places to eat were excellent as well. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Nice size property in great spot, close to township, wharf, river and beach. Quiet and cosy at night, and we were grateful to be able to bring the dog with us. Good basic equipment and self catering was a breeze. But also offered lots of nearby walking distance dining options.

Well worth it.

One of the best presented properties we have stayed at. From the greeting at the cottage by the owner Cate (where she walked through and explained how everything worked) to the open fire place ready for us everything was prefect. The cottage is small is size but huge in charm and a must if you are visiting Port Fairy as it is so close to the town Centre and the wharf. Thank you Cate and John for a lovely relaxing stay. Hoping to visit again soon.

Perfect for a short stay with all the comforts of home. Our little dog was well behaved and enjoyed herself. Close to the Moyne River and shops. Would love to stay there again.

Owners who live behind the cottage made us feel very welcome on arrival. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. Pet friendly. Great proximity to the township for shopping, cafes and restaurants. Beautiful walks along the Moyne River and beaches.

This is such a beautiful little cottage I was sad to have to leave. Perfect spot loved walking around and exploring, so close to the town centre. Check in was a beeeze and felt so supported if we needed anything.

Very relaxing and enjoyable

The cottage was gorgeous and was only a quick walk to the main street. Cate & John were wonderful hosts and let us know about what events were happening in town while we were there, and suggested different eateries and restaurants for us to try. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Dog House Cottage for a wonderful stay.

Great location friendly helpful host, dog friendly

If I had to be sent to the dog house, this is the one I would choose. Beautiful decor, and private little cottage within walking distance to everything in Port Fairy. Hosts John and Cate friendly and helpful. I was a little concerned about the road position when we arrived but there is little traffic passing and the main road doesn’t pass through Port Fairy. It is beautifully quiet and private. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This gorgeous old cottage has everything you could want including an open fire if weather mean. Cate was the perfect host with lots of contact prior to ensure a smooth arrival & a warm welcome. We would highly recommend staying here.
