The house worked really well for our group. We were a group of 6; two parents with adult children and their friends. The proximity to the beach is awesome, and the beach itself is wonderful. We cooked most of our meals at home, and the house is stocked with most of what is needed to cook. Beds are comfortable. It was great to have two bedrooms with king beds! House was clean, and it was great to have the outdoor seating area and outdoor shower. We loved our trip!

After communicating with the owners via email since December 2023 with first email saying we will be a family of 8-10 members, the owner accused me of being a liar, scam artist and falsifying information. I found his house that sleeps 8 and immediately emailed him to ask his availability for Summer 2024. After picking our dates that would work best for our family, we chose to book via VRBO in order to reserve them quickly and not wait for things to book up. I have 47 emails between the owner and myself, each of them discussing our family of 8, need for transportation for all of us and ideas for excursions to accommodate our group of 8. There was not one mention that I reserved his home wrong on the VRBO site until the night before we arrived for our trip, we were told we owed an additional $490 due to his policy of parties 6 or more needing to pay $35/per person per night. This is not stated any where on his description nor was I trying to occupy more than his listing suggested of 8 adults. After traveling internationally for the past 24 hours, we waited to pay after talking to him and receiving cell service. He instantly became irate, red faced and verbally abusive saying there’s nothing to be discussed, I was a liar, scam artist, etc. He chose to say these things right in front of my husband, my children, my father and brother. He told us to find somewhere else to stay, call VRBO and leave a review. He left 5 adults and 3 children stranded on his porch in a foreign country.

The house is newer and well maintained. It has everything you need but food to get you started. The Pinders are very helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect and is a short walk to a quiet beach. There is a floating dock in the water that is the perfect place for your beverages as you soak in the crystal clear water. We will be back.

Me and my family rented the Green turtle for a week in April. The house was beyond expectations and had plenty of room for the 7 of us. Was very surprised on how big the house was on the inside. It was very clean and modern. The property was well kept and just a short walk to the beach. The free golf cart was an added bonus and was brand new. Definitely will rent again and would recommend to anyone!

Jody and Tara are great hosts. This was our second time back and everything was great yet again! They are timely with responses and helpful. We would definitely recommend any of their rentals. We can’t wait to visit again!! :)

We truly enjoyed our visit, the home was clean and fully stocked with extras. Our commutations with the Pinder’s could and should have been better and for that, I apologize. Thank you for your patience.

What a great stay. They were great to communicate with prior to and during our trip. The house is awesome! Super clean, cold air, comfy beds and the location is awesome. The beach is a 1 Kim walk down a cute, private path and it’s gorgeous. We saw turtles, fish, urchins, a couple sharks and kayaked out to an amazing coral head with three huge lobster…a week to early for season:(. We had lots of space in the house for me and three teenagers. The only thing that would have made it perfect is some dish soap and trash bags…but we will stay here or any of Jody’s properties anytime, it was wonderful.

We had the most wonderful time! Spanish Wells was more wonderful then what we had even read and heard about! What a sweet community of people. It was super relaxing and so much fun for my fam. We loved staying at the Green Turtle. It was super nice, very up to date, and had all things that we needed. The owners are wonderful people that went out of their way to make sure we had all we needed and were comfortable. They also offer excursions that I highly recommend (the highlight of our trip). This is not a island to come to if you want night life or shopping BUT if you’re looking for a safe, family oriented, relaxing vacation, it’s for you! We are so thankful for our time there!

Came here as a family. It was the perfect location, clean property, wonderful property managers. Close to the beach and access to chairs and shade on the beach. Close to grocery stores and delicious food. Highly recommend.

Our family of 5 had an amazing week in this perfectly located and well maintained home!! The home owners (Jody and Tara) pay attention to every detail so you are able to relax and enjoy this amazing Island. It’s a very short walk to the beautiful beach where you can just sit and enjoy the view, go snorkeling, or go exploring on the kayak! We added on a couple of excursions which were fantastic. We highly recommend the full day trip to swim with turtles and pigs, swing at a sandbar, and hang out with some stingrays. It was awesome! The half day of deep sea fishing was also a great time! We highly recommend this property and would love to return at some point!! Cheers!!

We had an amazing vacay!! The Green Turtle Beach House was beautiful, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Bonus: our own private beach access that included towels, chairs, shade, umbrellas, AND a kayak, a golf cart and bicycles!!! Wonderful and amazing!

Absolutely Amazing
This place was amazing. Let alone that it was on a gorgeous island with very friendly community, but it was a very short walk to the beach. We had an amazing week there. The hosts were very responsive and even checked in to make sure we were enjoying ourselves or needed anything. They provided multiple options for groceries, meals, places to visit, rentals, and such. We cannot express just how much we enjoyed our visit and how amazing everyone was.

Stay in Spanish Wells
We had a great time in Spanish Wells. The Green Turtle Cottage was clean, had everything we needed, and was was a short walk to the beach. The property owners, Jody and Tara, were friendly and helpful. They checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. They even brought us fresh baked muffins on our last day. We are already making plans to return.

Flawless cottage, exceptional customer service.
Spanish Wells was a quirky choice for a vacation spot-off the beaten path and without big water slides or fancy dining options. Once you’ve decided to make SW your destination? Do yourself a favor and book a cottage with Tara and Jody Pinder.
The house is pristine. A thoughtful design and quality furnishings made it feel not-like-a-rental. The walk to the beach is about 2 minutes. The golf cart, beach chairs, beach towels, leftover sunscreen, drink making water (from previous renters), tin foil, spices, etc. helped immensely and fostered a sense of ‘paying it forward’, which felt good and frankly made sense on an island where most goods are shipped in weekly.
Our emails (where can we rent snorkels? We are having trouble with the Wi-Fi!) were replied to within minutes *or* one of the proprietors just showed up on our porch in person!
Jody and Tara know everyone on the island. The charter they run was perfectly tailored to our needs. And their desire to ensure we enjoyed ourselves was apparent constantly. In other words, when you book the Green Turtle cottage, you’re procuring a great rental AND an attentive host. It’s the VRBO dream!

It’s so nice to be in the heart of everything with this location. The golf cart was a 3-5min ride from most restaurants and a 2 sec ride to the beach. Each morning they cleaned a section of the beach for us that may have had any grass or weeds.
We saw sharks, dolphin, bonefish and osprey just sitting on the beach! The hosts also handled getting a gluten free birthday cake made for us and figured out the details of a great fishing charter where we swam with turtles, sting rays and dolphins!
Truly an unbelievable trip and Jody and Jordan made it so easy! The house had everything we needed!

They have stayed at probably 10-12 different rentals in SW over the years, so they have more to compare it to. Even though it's not ON the beach, it doesn't matter. It's a short walk away. I wouldn't let that discourage staying here. Jody and Tara are on their game. Any time we need something or have a question, it's nearly instantaneous service. We had the internet box go out and within 5 mins Jody was replacing the unit and making sure everything worked. We asked for the 5 gal bottle of water and 2 mins later Tara was back setting it up. I texted Jody late one evening asking if he could arrange our 5 day COVID test and within 10 mins he had our appointment set. It's the "get it done" attitude that makes a difference. That is NOT normal in the Bahamas. Spanish Wells is different than other places we've visited in the Bahamas, in that way, BUT Jody and Tara take it to another level.

Amazing trip
Spent a wonderful 5 days with two other families staying at the three cottages. The Pinders went above and beyond for us the whole trip. They arranged a beautiful birthday cake for my daughter. Everything about the house and property was great from start to finish. We can not wait to come back and spend more time on beautiful Spanish Wells.

The house is absolutely beautiful and very clean. The bedrooms are spacious, having a half bath by the kitchen was convenient, kitchen was supplied with everything you need to cook. Nice touch was having plenty of storage containers for leftover food, most rentals never have this. The house has a cooler to use for the beach and plenty of beach chairs with a easy to pack away umbrella. The house had plenty of beach towels to use. The outdoor shower was great and perfect after a day at the beach. This house has everything you need.The owners were awesome! Very responsive when we wanted to borrow the kayak (keep in mind, there is a $100 cash deposit required, but returned once done with the kayak). They helped us get a big 5 gallon jug of drinking water in the house from one of the businesses on the island, it cost us $2-$3 to refill, super easy. They helped us schedule our covid test at the Spanish Wells Medical Centre next to the school. It was a very relaxing vacation and much needed! We will be back as always!

Best vacation ever Dad!
This was our first trip as a family to the Bahamas and Spanish Wells. We LOVED it!! Jody and Tara are fanatical about making sure you have everything you need. Their home was immaculate. They go above and beyond any other place we've ever stayed. We had four teenagers with us and they can be "demanding" on Mom and Dad to say it nicely. The kids said it was the best vacation they've ever had. You're not "on the beach", but it doesn't matter. It's a short walk and something we did multiple times a day. I wouldn't pay extra to be on the beach here. They rented us golf carts. They were brand new. They arranged excursions, all of which were awesome. Some with Jody, some with his other captains/guides. High speed internet is something you wish you didn't need on vacation, but with teenagers you do. It worked perfectly. The design and layout of the house, along with how the kitchen is equipped is lacking nothing for a vacation rental. The location is quiet and only mins away from anything you might need. For the first time ever, the kids said "we should buy a house here!" Considering how much value you get from Jody and Tara's properties, I wouldn't even bother. We'll be back!

The place looked newly built and had everything we could expect being away from home. It is situated only a few steps from the beach. We stayed 7 days and enjoyed every minute of it.
Jodi is very easy to communicate with (he lives down the road). Follow his advice! Whether it is about what to do and where to go on the island (or in the Bahamas) or about the fact that you need a golf cart to move around the place, listen to him.
He can also take you on a boat tour ... and it is worth every penny!
Spanish Wells is a remote island. You'll get the opportunity to disconnect as long as your stay will last! We did! ...
