Ensuite a bit small , but a very old building that's been adapted the best way possible.

Very quaint. Great location. Nice touches in pretty bedroom eg fruit bowl, homemade shortbread, and tea pot! Lovely breakfast.
Realise this is our problem not that of the property, but couldn’t get vehicle (Amazon Landcruiser) down narrow entrance to car park (we had been warned.) Found street parking no issue, but could be different in high season.

Breakfast was a good as it gets. A wide selection of"help-yourself foods" on the buffet, and a good selection of cooked option. I particularly liked getting a good sized teapot, instead of the "one and a half cup" size many places use. The owner is a helpful and friendly host.
The bedroom is a bit tight for space, but in an old historic house, that's the way it has to be.

Location good, just down from the centre of town.
Breakfast always superb, everything one could wish for, and cooked to perfection by Mine Host (who is very welcoming).
Room sparkling clean, all toiletries provided, plus extras like fresh fruit and biscuits.
Parking at the rear of the property for anything wider than a Ford Mondeo might not be possible - the gap between Brunswick House and the next house really isn’t very wide.

The thoughtful little extras and attention to detail were exceptional. The host was friendly and couldn’t do enough to accommodate and needs, the breakfast choice and quality of food was exceptional

Great location on the Main Street. Nice decor. Excellent breakfast with home made banana bread and delicious fruit. Fridge with fresh milk in the bedroom. Good quality bath robes.
Room was hard to keep cool but it was the warmest night of the year and small fan helped a little.

Such a varied breakfast choice.The room was so comfortable and great quality bed linen.Couldn’t fault anything and Andrew the host was attentive and very friendly taking an interest in our stay.Highly recommend and would certainly stay again.Thank you.

The hotel exceeded all expectations. A lot of care and attention to detail had been taken in our room. The breakfast was excellent and Andrew spent time telling us about the property and the village . Would definitely recommend the Brunswick.

Tastefully decorated relaxing rooms in a characterful traditional building, in the village of Middleton in Teesdale. Parking round the back (best for more compact vehicles) and falling asleep to the sound of the river. Warm, friendly and unintrusive hosting, with a delicious range of breakfast options including lovely local produce. What a great stay!

This is an exceptional place to stay. The furnishings and quality of the accommodation are of a very high standard.
Andrew is a wonderful host who ensures that you enjoy your stay. There were lots of additional little touches in the rooms and at breakfast to ensure you felt pampered.
Breakfast was fabulous. There was so much choice and it was really well cooked and presented.
We felt extremely at home here. We understand why this guest house has achieved so many awards.
