We really enjoyed our stay in this very clean, nicely furnished, fully equipped traditional house located in the peaceful countryside just outside Santo Espirito. Everything for a comfortable visit is provided, including a good WiFi connection and a gift of local artisanal bread, jam, and cookies. The hosts, Catarina and Pedro, live close by and are friendly and accommodating. An early arrival was no problem, and when the weather forecast called for heavy rain the day of our departure, they offered to let us to stay later so we could relax in comfort before our flight. We highly recommend Casa dos Valentes!

There is everything you need in the house and if there is some problem the hosts are always ready to help. Amazing views around and close to all sides of the island.

Pillows could be better

We loved everything : the charming and confortable house, the beautiful and peaceful landscape, the kindness of Catarina and her husband. It was a perfect stay, I warmly recommand.

Located just outside Santo Espírito, in a very quiet and bucolic place. Spacious and with a nice outside space. The hosts were very nice and available. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

The location is superb with stunning countryside views from the front of the property which has an elevated position and faces south. The sun was out on our second day when we were able to sit outside and enjoy the heat. The house has been recently renovated and has a very warm and comfortable feel to it with a great central living area. Nicely furnished, very clean and well equipped in every way. Everything worked. Good WiFi and a heater was provided. We were warmly greeted on arrival, the owners live very close and are pleased to help if needed. They left a welcome bowl of local produce which we enjoyed. We are based on the island in the marina, so this was a mini break which we will definitely do again soon. A short walking distance from centre where there are two bars and a restaurant, a small but well equipped mini supermarket and the Cooperativa where you can buy bread and pastries. The property is also less than 5 minutes walk from a stop on the bus route between Vila do Porto and Malbusca. Thank you Catarina and Pedro. We will be back.

The property was very clean and tidy, and well presented with all basic amenities including kitchen and washing machine. It is excellent value. The hosts were very welcoming, and provided some basics as a welcoming gift including local bread and pineapple jam. The area is very pastoral and unspoiled. There is a village nearby with two bars that remind me of the old country pubs where the farmers used to come in for a drink. The bar staff and locals are friendly and if you want to meet some of the people that farm the fantastic cattle. you see in the fields - and being herded on the roads - calll in and say 'boa noite'.

Maybe a heater for the cold nights?
