Even though the photos are beautiful, the property itself is even better. The high end appliances, beautiful linens and attention to detail made it feel like a resort property. Our teens enjoyed having their own space across the veranda from the main house, and we were able to eat all of our meal outdoors. The pool was perfect for late morning and afternoon fun and relaxation. The outdoor kitchen made for easy meals at home, and yet we enjoyed walking to Southside Village most days for breakfast treats and dinners out as well. The beaches were a short drive, and even though the neighborhood is quiet, you could walk to almost anything you would want while on vacation. We found the walk to the beautiful (and clean!) downtown Sarasota enjoyable as well. We would highly recommend spending time at the Osprey Cottage!

From confirmation through check-out, this property and the owner, Jay, exceeded our expectations. The house (including guest house and pool/patio area) is lovely and well-appointed. Jay and his wife left fresh flowers, wine, coffee, and chocolates - and helpful recommendations. Jay was very responsive to our needs. We hope to return next year!

Jay and Holly have tended to every detail with high quality furnishings and incredible responsiveness to all inquiries. This was our first visit to Sarasota and being guests in their rental home made us love the place even more.

This was our family’s first time to Sarasota. Our adult children were flying in from Denver, NYC, and Washington DC. Jay was an excellent host. Prior to our arrival we spoke on the phone and he got a good sense of what we as a family like to do. As a result, upon our arrival there were pages of information printed specifically geared towards our interests. He left us a sheet on how to get to the new Pickleball courts. He left info on great restaurants and bars that have great beer menus. He asked me what I like To drink and there was a beautiful bottle of Pinot Noir. We are big coffee drinkers and he left a bag of coffee beans for the grinder in the kitchen. The house has all top grade appliances. The cottage and the outdoor space were terrific. We were in walking distance to Downtown and so many great restaurants. Lido Beach and St Armand’s circle are 15 minutes away. We went into Long Boat Key fishing. We had a great time and would would come back in a minute! Thank you Jay.

Fantastic home, great historical neighborhood, and perfect amenities. Our family has stayed in VRBOs all over, so I read a ton of reviews before deciding where to stay- The stellar reviews on this place are absolutely accurate! House is exactly, if not better than the listing and has everything you could need. We had a bigger extended family group and stayed through 2 holidays and couldn’t have asked for a better set up. The abundance of extra linens and nicer appliances was something we don’t often see in rentals and really appreciated. Perfect area if you are wanting to explore multiple beach towns and neighborhoods, but just enough off the beaten path to feel private, safe, and comfortable. Owner is friendly, responsive, and had some awesome local suggestions. Will definitely be coming back to the Sarasota area in the future and would highly recommend this home to anyone and everyone I know! Thanks Jay!

Our family (2 grandparents, 4 adults, 4 kids) stayed a week at this special property for a wedding at nearby Selby Botanical Gardens. The home was perfect for us. Short drive to beaches, great restaurants within walking distance, waterfront runs and the wading pool was ideal for the grandkids. Loved the outdoor space to grill and have dinners, and the guest house ensured we all had enough space. The owner was very welcoming upon arrival, setting us up for the week and responsive to any questions we had afterwards. Lots of fun in Sarasota, many family memories made. Highly recommend this property!

This is a beautiful home in a fabulous area. The home has everything you could possibly need for a beach vacation. This was the cleanest home we have ever stayed in using VRBO and the host was so gracious. He greeted us when we arrived to explain some minor details and he even left treats for our kiddos. They felt very special! The home is beautifully decorated. The linens were nice and the AC kept the home very cool. Aveda products in each shower which was a nice, added touch! The outdoor shower and pool were perfect for coming home after a day spent at the beach. I highly recommend this home and we hope to stay here again in the future!

This was our 3rd stay at this beautiful home! We love the location near shops and yummy restaurants, the quick drive to the beach, and the amazing pool and amenities. Another trip full of wonderful memories!! Can’t wait for our next visit!

House was nice, property manager insisted on meeting to get keys. This may or may not work for some. House was nice and clean. There are two cameras facing the backyard one right on the pool. It would have been nice to know of this in advance as I have a teen girl who swims and it’s a little creepy. The other two cameras are fully exterior and facing the road.

They loved having the pool house as their own and the location to coffee shops, dining and gourmet market was an added bonus. The 10-12 min drive to beautiful beaches was a breeze. House was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and just as the pictures show. Our family especially enjoyed the outdoor living space with grill, sitting areas, pool, and fenced in yard. My teenage daughter and her friends really liked having their own space in the separate but attached large guest bedroom/ with their own bathroom. We liked that too! 😉 The house was in walking distance to convenience stores, and unique local shops and restaurants. It was a 10-15 minute drive to Siesta or Lido beach. Jay our host was very nice and attentive throughout the reservation process and stay. Promptly answering any questions we had. We had no problems and enjoyed our stay very much and would gladly return.

This gorgeous rental property has everything you could ever need. Our kids loved using the guesthouse as their own getaway. Appliances are all top of the line. Furnishings are beautiful yet casual, as one would want on the coast! We all got in the heated pool for a nighttime family swim. Looking forward to staying at this beautiful, restful house again.

This beautifully appointed cottage was by far one of the best VRBO properties we have vacationed at. It was also the cleanest! We truly felt we had arrived at our own private resort the moment we opened the gate into the meticulously manicured gardens and the outdoor kitchen/seating area. The professional interior decor was evident throughout the home which included a gourmet kitchen with high end appliances, lush linens and plenty of towels! Close to the beaches, shops and dining, Osprey Cottage is a gem. Jay and Holly are hosts extraordinaire who were gracious and attentive. with a welcome package that had something for everyone! What a wonderful stay we had! The home was perfect for all our young adults. The kitchen is very well appointed with top of the line appliances. The pictures are a great representation. And the manager/owner is a delight to work with. He really made sure we would feel at home. Highly recommend this property. I would go back without a second thought.

We had the most wonderful time at this property in Sarasota. We were minutes from the beautiful Siesta Key and every day iwas filled with beautiful times by the water, at the shops and a good restaurants! The owners were absolutely amazing and very hospitable! They left little treats for us and the kids when we got there and checked in with us during the week to see if there was anything else we needed. The house was absolutely beautiful, decorated so nicely and perfectly clean. The pool was wonderful and the everything was top notch! I would recommend this house to anyone! Very charming, and our kids (ages 12 to 18) loved every minute of their time there!

This quaint cottage has been renovated to the tee! Upscale appliances and high end EVERYTHING was such a nice surprise when we were welcomed by the warmest package from the owners awaiting our arrival. Clean and comfortable this house is a renters dream. The owners were accessible and dealt with a couple minor issues promptly and successfully. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to rent it again.
