Was our Families time booking through VRBO and our 1st trip to Beech Mountain but definitely won't be our last!! Thankful for our host and accomadations!!

We stay slope side at Beech every year and this is one of our favorite cabins! It’s so close (walking) to Fred’s where some of our friends rent gear, and so easy to ski in ski out. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the things needed to have a good weekend! Only thing we bring is a crockpot for chili 😀 it’s also much bigger than most slope side cabins which makes it really comfortable for a big group!

A view of the slopes would be enjoyable, but it’s only a few-steps walk to the slopes.

Once we made inside the house our group was amazed. The house is well kept and is huge, there was plenty of space for everyone my group size 12. We used all but one twin bed on the second floor. The location had us in town and steps from Fred's mercantile when we needed to grab something quick. I would use this again for sure.

The space to come in and out to change into outdoor gear was great. Overall the house nice but lacks amenities like shampoo, dish soap and cleaning under furniture had not been done for some time. Overall a great spot with these few exceptions

This was one of the most comfortable houses we’ve stayed in at Beech, and we’ve been doing family trips there for over a decade. The kitchen was by far the most spacious and easy to navigate, which is important for us. The weather is unpredictable (we missed the snow by two days), so having a house that allows family to be together is a priority for our family trips. Thanks for hosting us!

It is sort of ski-in, ski-out if the neighbors are friendly and don't mind you walking across the back yard to get to "The Meadows" ski run. It was a big house for the four of us and can handle a group with someone in every bed if everyone manages their turn in the two bathrooms. Laundry room is upstairs with a full-size W/D. The kitchen is well equipped with cookware, utensils and glassware but you will need to bring condiments, spices, etc to prepare meals.Unit was relatively clean and I don't know that the criticisms of the conditions of the house are fully warranted. No telling how many weeks a year this house is rented out, but there is normal wear and tear that a rental property is bound to experience and it may be that the den furniture is due for a refresh. The bed pillows are due for replacement and if the master mattress is new, a memory foam pad would be a welcome addition. You can walk to pizza and BBQ and drive two minutes to Mexican food, or 15 minutes to Banner Elk. We rented ski equipment from the store in front of the house and the prices were great.Overall, we would recommend this unit.

Able to walk to the slopes, was essentially ski in, ski out, made it possible to go back to the house for lunch and to warm up. Very small fenced back yard, but enough for a dog to roam around off leash. Directly across street from pizza and other shops. House itself was dirty and not in good condition. You’re staying here for the location, not the house. Rental agency was quick to respond when we had an issue with the fireplace.

The house was fantastic - plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen had everything we needed for big breakfasts and dinners. I would definitely recommend this house and would stay there again - it was just perfect for a large group. The beds weren't the most comfortable but they wouldn't prevent us from renting the house again. The only issue we had was with the property management. They added an additional charge that wasn't listed on VRBO and charged my card before notifying me of the increase. When I phoned to inquire about it they were extremely rude. They even mentioned cancelling the reservation if I had a problem with their methods.

Place an air purifier in the basement, use mattress pads, replace all carpeted areas with laminate flooring. Doing those things would make the house nearly perfect. The side yard and part of the back yard had trash scattered everywhere from a bear sometime before we arrived. Cleaning/ property manager should have addressed it proactively. They cleaned some, but not all of the trash, after our call.
