A beautifully restored historical building, with great attention to detail by the lovely owner Charlotte. Located centrally on a square, which was used for some sports practice on Saturday morning, but was otherwise totally peaceful! Our room gave a nod to a bygone era, in it’s beautiful decoration and styling, but was clean and uncluttered so felt like a home not a museum. The bed was very comfortable and all linen fresh and clean. We stayed three nights over a weekend and it was truly one of the loveliest spaces we have had. A cleverly screened kitchenette allowed us to cook some beautiful hand made pasta and sauce from the local Poitiers produce market, and enjoy some fresh salad and local wine ‘at home’ as a change from eating out!! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Everything was exactly as advertised, nothing fell short of expectations - rare nowadays. Lots of nice little touches around the apartment, you could see the personal touch and it felt good.

It is only a minor point: I would have liked better pillows

A fabulous stay at La Maison de Liberte, Charlotte is an excellent host and offers a masterclass in hospitality 👏🏽 every detail has been thought of in anticipation of guest comfort. The quality is excellent we stayed in the apartment at the front with huge windows and view over the square.
