We had a great week. Everything we could possibly need and then some was provided. It is a very lovely property, close access to the beach, and there was something for everyone, all ages.

Perfect house for a large family or even a couple small families. Lots of living space to spend time together. Kitchen was well stocked, lots of fun games and beach chairs…everything you would need.

This property is amazing! The location is very central yet off the main road. Beach access is a short walk. Sitting on the deck, you will enjoy your morning coffee listening to the waves and can see the ocean from across the street. Very relaxing. The deck will absolutely be your favorite spot while here. I love the way the sun shines on different areas throughout the day. The hosts are amazing and leave you everything you could want to enjoy your stay. From bikes to beach toys to video games for the older ones to enjoy. If you are looking to separate yourself from the teens this is definitely the house for you. The downstairs area is a paradise for them while you are able to enjoy the comforts of home upstairs. The hosts are so responsive to any needs or requests. I highly recommend this property and hope to visit again soon.

The property was a perfect hang out for my family over Thanksgiving weekend. We came out to see our Marine and brought his new niece to meet him for the first time. Weather wasn’t great but we made it work. Was real close to the beach and had just about anything we would need for cooking a big family meal for the holiday. Mannette was very responsive to all our needs, beds were very comfy! We would stay here again. Thanks for all your hospitality.

The day before we left we found cameras in multiple rooms of the home. We contacted VRBO and they did advise us to leave the property early. We were all pretty freaked out and packed up as quickly as possible. VRBO support was helpful, but a week and a half later I still haven’t received the refund I was promised. Needless to say this was very unnerving and a huge invasion of privacy. Aside from the spy cameras the checkout procedures were more involved than any other rental I’ve ever been to. The host says not to bring anything, but they certainly do expect you to bring cleaning supplies including things like trash bags. There were bathing suits left from the previous guest as well, Im not entirely sure they hire professionals to clean between guests. A framed picture fell off the wall when the garage door was closed, but there was no broom available for clean up. The accommodations are not worth the price. Also, it smelled like sulfur. VRBO assured me that having cameras inside the home violates their policy, but looking back through other reviews it seems we aren’t the first to notice the cameras. Only stay here if you are comfortable being filmed without your consent. This rental ended up being a huge headache that left our whole crew feeling violated and scrambling for last minute accommodations.

This beach getaway was the perfect place for our family visit. Communication was great from the start. This house had everything we needed for the beach and the location was perfect for visiting the Aquarium, Fort Macon, and Shackleford Island. All the amenities listed in the description were above and beyond what we needed. I loved sitting on the deck and relaxing to the sound of the ocean. The beach access was within walking distance or you could use a private residential parking area with easy access. We had the best time coming from California to visit our Carolina relatives. Thank you for providing such an enjoyable place to stay. I would definitely rebook this property again.

This house was really a great spot. Marietta was super easy to communicate with. The home has great amenities. When the listing says you don't need to bring anything, that is accurate.

From the location, to the hosts, to the amenities provided by them this was an unbeatable experience. We had 4 adults and 4 children, 3 teens and a 5.5yo. The property has a lot of well furnished common space, bedrooms are sufficiently sized with many options for sleeping arrangements. The media options inside the home are various and extensive. The gaming options were a big hit, both electronic and board/card. Everything was very clean and well thought out, it is obvious that this is a family vacation home that the hosts extend for our use. As for the important stuff: The access to the beach is local and less than a 2 block walk. There is parking if you prefer. The hosts have kindly provided multiple options for chairs, shade cover, sand and surf implements and carts/wagons specifically to navigate the sand. There are also adult sized bikes with accessories for children available. The outdoor shower was so nice we found ourselves using it as the main shower, again hosts were generous with providing soap, body wash, shampoo, etc. One needs to rinse off from the beach anyways, and it provides privacy and is fully functional plus being out in the air is wonderful. Around the homestead there is plenty of space and furniture provided outside for lounging etc. The Atlantic Beach shopping and dining (may we suggest Roma Pizza if you want an enjoyable locally owned, non-seafood meal) is minutes away with Moorhead City just over the bridge from there. The main tourist hustle and bustle is on the south end of the island in Emerald Isle, so it is accessible but you aren't in the thick of the hubbub. There is a great aquarium minutes away, a fun go kart/mini golf spot not much further down, then in Atlantic Beach, just a 5 minute drive away, there is a Food Lion (grocery store) and kitty corner is a public park with a skate park, splash pad, mini golf, snack bar, lots of space to hang out, and while we were visiting they had free family movies in the park on Friday nights. Finally, as for Neal and Marietta, they are prefect hosts. Very responsive and available if needed, but do not bud in to be a part of your vacation. The home away they have provided is remarkable, and they have a few simple, reasonable requests to help maintain the space for everyone. We received a couple of timely reminders at the beginning and end and nothing else unsolicited. We desperately want to return, SOON!

Loved our stay! Beautiful view, perfect deck for relaxing with family, short walk to the beach. Immediately felt like home and the hosts were gracious and thoughtful. Made our stay great with three young kids! Can’t wait to come back

We stayed at this property with two other families, 10 people total. There was plenty of room for all the kids and adults to hang out during the day and sleep at night. The location was wonderful, providing a very short walk to the beach. The owners also provided an impressive amount of beach chairs, games, and bikes. Our group discovered a game called Crossnet that they had in the garage and took it to the beach everyday. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook large meals for everyone. Marietta was incredibly responsive and helpful when we had a question for her on our first night there. I would highly recommend this house!

The house was more than adequate for our needs. Each faction of our group had their own space/bedrooms. Appreciated the large kitchen/dining/and living rooms. Location is excellent just a short walk to the beach. Would be helpful for future guests if the listing for the house specified more clearly that the basement bathroom does NOT have it's own shower (it's outside) even though the outside shower was nice to have. The dresser drawers in the bedrooms could have been cleaner and had to be wiped out before putting our clothes in.

My family and I recently had a wonderfully relaxing vacation at Marietta and Neal's beautiful retreat! The layout of the house meant that Mom, Dad, and the kids could relax separately or together as desired. The kids loved all the entertainment options in the house and we even played our first family monopoly game. There were plenty of boogie boards and chairs to take to the beach which was an easy walk. Really just about everything we needed was included except swimsuits, beach towels, meals, and sunscreen. Perfect!

"The Blue View" is a lovely house with tons of space and a well-stocked garage with boogie boards, beach wagons, beach chairs, etc. It's a very short stroll to a part of the beach with lots of space. Our kids loved the video game table in the basement. Beds are very comfortable, and Neal and Marietta were extremely responsive hosts. We loved our week there!

The property was very clean and the owners were very responsive when needed. Short walk to the beach and the kids loved the old school arcade table. The owners have thoughtfully provided amenities like beach chairs, umbrellas, wagons and boards so you don’t have to pack them.

We absolutely loved staying here. The owner made so many accommodations for our family especially because we had young toddlers. We loved sitting on the porch listening to the waves crash and the birds chirp. A brief walk to the beach was wonderful and plenty of tools to make the stay wonderful. Chairs, sand toys, wagons!!! And bikes for the adults. Beds were cozy and kitchen easy to use.

Excellent location with plenty of room to relax and socialize with the family. The communication with property owners made the stay extremely easy.

My family and I had a wonderful experience. Plenty of amenities for a rental. The game room was a great touch. The deck is awesome at night, very quiet neighborhood. Let’s talk about the beach: Convenient, nice clean, it’s private so not a lot of people. Plenty of room to hang out. Only down fall are the cameras throughout the house, wish we were able to see them also. We were happy with the time spent in this vacation house.

This was the perfect beach house for our group of 9. Kids had their own space downstairs with tv and video games. Wrap around porch for coffee in the morning and views of the water. Short walk to the public access beach. Neil and Marietta communicated with us the whole time and took very good care of us. We’re already scheming on a way to come back next year :)

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house. It is in a perfect location providing the ease of walks on the beach without needing to cross Salter Path. The house is well-appointed with a spacious kitchen and plenty of room for comfort. The heat worked well when the temperature dipped into the 40s, and the children enjoyed TVs in their bedroom. The hosts were very responsive when we had questions. We would certainly return when we can.

The house is in a great location and had plenty of room for our extended family, including doors to shut off certain areas in case some family members wanted privacy. The kitchen was well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the toys and activities they had available. All in all, this was just what we needed!

We stayed here with 8 adults for my son's wedding. Owner is very helpful and responsive. The house is roomy and comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with Everything you need to make a great meal. There are bikes and beach carts and boogie boards to enhance your beach experience. Gorgeous 2nd story deck has a view of the ocean and you can hear the waves hitting the shore. A peaceful place to relax and enjoy the crystal coast.

We've never rented before but with the COVID situation, thought it would be much better than a hotel. This home didn't disappoint! The owners provided great communication whenever necessary throughout. The pictures don't do justice to the size of the home. There is plenty of room for 10 people to spread out and take part in different activities throughout the house. We used the kitchen as a gathering area but the kids stayed in the lower floor with access to gaming systems for them to stay busy on. The beach was our main attraction during the trip and the access was less than a quarter mile away with beach toys, carts, and umbrellas included if needed. When on the beach, there were very few people there due to the private neighborhood access which was nice to be able to spread out and enjoy the time as a family! Would definitely rent here again and thanks for a great week!

The house is located right across from Oceanside. Just a short walk away from paradise. The house is very volean and we’ll stocked. We felt pampered and thoroughly enjoyed our week at Blueview. Would DEFINITELY stay again!! Thank you for a wonderful week away from all the worries!!!

This was a great find! There were 10 of us in our extended family and it was big enough to spread out but also have lots of time together. Access to the ocean was about a block away if walking or two blocks to park. We explored several beaches on the island and this one was by far our favorite. The house was in a very quiet and private location. Even though there were neighbors we felt like we had lots of privacy. The owner had excellent communication. Even though we didn’t have any issues, she texted and emailed just to make sure all was good. We visited bird shoal and found sand dollars and shark tooth island to find tons of shark teeth. The fisherman in our group caught shark off the beach. I honestly cannot say enough good about this place. It was a wonderful stay!!!

This whole process was perfect from booking, to contact with the owner, the property and the vacation. We Seoul’s highly recommend this property if you are looking for a beach vacation.

My husband and two boys (ages 10 & 12) rented this property July 4th week. We absolutely loved the house and neighborhood! The house was clean, the check in process was easy, the beds were comfortable. My boys enjoyed the space downstairs and the arcade games. They brought a play station and the internet worked fine. We cooked at night (fresh local seafood nearby) and the kitchen was fully equipped with plenty of cooking supplies even cooking spices. Our family enjoyed the bikes with beautiful and shaded neighborhoods close by on the sound side. The beach access was relatively close by with beach chairs, a spacious beach cart and umbrellas, boogie boards provided by the owner. There is a wonderful outside shower when you return from the beach! Marietta was very communicative and gracious. She left icy pops for my boys in the freezer and a beautiful gift basket with a personalized welcome note for my family upon our arrival. There is a very large family room and TV perfect for games at night with the kids. The wrap around deck with ocean views and breeze (brand new) was my personal favorite for morning coffee and evening cocktails before dinner. We enjoyed renting the house and excellent communication from the owners. Pine Knoll Shores is a perfect family beach vacation. We will definitely be back to this property and location again!
