Another great stay in Exuma. Samuel was easy to get in touch and very helpful. His housekeeper is a gem! House is spacious and clean. My daughter loved using sup and kayak. Beautiful sandbars and lots of wildlife. We saw starfish, lemon sharks and collected sand dollars. Can’t wait to be back.

Our first day it stormed, power went out for 24+ hours. This wasnt great because it was hot but we also know that this wasnt anyones fault. We didnt travel to stay inside. We spent everyday outside in the beautiful water. The house is exactly as described. It had everything we needed with a beautiful view. The side patio had outside furniture, but it wasnt set up and wasnt clean. Samuel was nice and it was pretty easy to communicate with him. Overall we love Exuma.

Beautiful view. Rough roads in and out. Overall the stay was great. There is definitely a few things that could be fixed/updated.

The property is same as pictures and description. Very remote. Nothing fancy but everything to meet your needs. Living room and both bedrooms have a mini split AC that definetly gets cold. All the cooking supplies and kitchen accessories that you need. We used the washing machine and hung our towels/clothes around the house and they’d be dry by morning. Clothes line outside if you prefer (neighbor dog however got off of his tie down one night and stole our towels off the line and chewed some up). He’s a sweet guy though. Haulover restaurant is at the entrance to the driveway. Nothing fancy. We rented a car and it was right side steering wheel and you drive on left side of road. Expect your food and gas to be 2-3 times what you pay at home. We found out while we were there that the rental house is part of the national park so you cannot fish from the house. We had a blast snorkeling and paddle boarding though. Rented a boat one day from Minns but with all boat rentals you have a boundary you have to stay in because of sandbars (so they don’t have to come tow people constantly). If you want to go swim with the pigs and sharks it’s a long ways from the property so you’ll have to hire someone to take you. We had the most fun at Stocking Island (Chat and Chill as well as Da Sandbar). The water is HEAVEN. We didn’t have a problem with mosquitoes and no-seeums like I’ve read many people do. Beware beds are hard and sheets don’t stay on. We rented mid-May.

Perfect place for a serene vacation with the most spectacular view. Everything was just as described. I am booking again for next year! The location provided the perfect amount of privacy with the walkability to two great places to eat on Haulover bay. We saw turtles, baby lemon sharks, stingrays and lots of fish. It's been a long time since I have been that relaxed!

A great trip again. Thank you Samuel for allowing us to stay at your place.

We were staying with my wife for 2 weeks at the beach house. We are experienced kayakers and we were exploring the local little islands and cays by kayak every day. We just wanted to slow down and relax, after the fast paste living in New York. We came back very happy.

Incredible location to explore via kayak some of the most beautiful waters on the planet!
No frills, but super clean with everything you need to enjoy Man O War and Moriah.

It was a really good get away. The property has changed from the photos. There is now a neighbor and a road running between the houses but it is still fairly secluded which is what was most important to us. The only traffic in the area are boats passing by. This was our first vacation outside of the US and we learned that our expectations need to be different. We learned to "Rolle" with it. Conveniences, luxuries, amenities, and hosting standards are different. Once we settled in we were happy to experience the culture and the easy way of living. We will without a doubt come back. We saw more sea creatures and life just off the small beach there than anywhere else on the island. Being right next to the water and having an outdoor shower was so nice, i even went snorkeling in the rain because it was so easy to access. James is a very reliable and timely person to pick you up from the airport and help when you need it. The 2 restaurants that are with in walking distance had good food and good people. Haulover bay restaurant had really good customer service.

This was a good rental house experience for our stay on Great Exuma. The a/c in the living room and one of the bedrooms worked beautifully and kept us very comfortable. The a/c doesn't work in the other bedroom, but because the other two worked so well, that didn't matter. There's a washing machine that works great! Hang your clothes on the clothesline to dry. Not enough towels for the four of us for more than a day, so we just made sure to wash them every day. The sun dried the towels pretty quickly. The house has a few unfinished pieces, but overall, so, so comfortable. At night, after a day of boating, etc., we'd snuggle up as a family on the couch and watch Netflix on the TV, then go sit on the reclining chairs in the rocky front yard to star-gaze. Beautiful! The road is rocky and unpaved, so take it slow! The house is at the end of the road, so it is very private and quiet. There's a little beach called Bryana Beach right in front of the house. Just take the path. It is publicly accessible, but very few people come to it. The beach is so much fun to have right there--very small beach with coral rock on both sides. Lots of wildlife nearby including the MANY hermit crabs that come out at night. Amazing, beautiful view of Man o War cay! You can take the kayak across to the cay and explore. We enjoyed our time there.

This property was perfect for our stay. The house came with kayaks and Kayaking over to Man a War Cay was a highlight in our trip. We found 70 sand dollars in one day just exploring along with stingrays. The location is close to Little Exuma which in our opinion had the prettiest beaches. The house was perfect for our needs.

We had the best time at Samuel's place. The view from the window is spectacular. There is a great little beach we had all to ourselves. The house had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. We will definitely be back! Samuel and his Uncle were very accommodating and responded to all our questions and provided assistance if needed. We used the provided kayak to go to man o war key and explore! Such fun and great location.

We stayed at 4 different locations during our 23 day stay in Exuma. There were 3 of us and we all agree that once you get there (which is rough)…RTR was our favorite location on the island! We LOVED spending time every day on the mostly private beach which is a short walk from the house. Used the two person kayak and paddle board to explore other islands which was amazing!! The home needs some updating but is clean and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. We forgot some of our personal items at the house and Samuel, James and Mrs Beneby went out of their way to get them back to us. We would only stay at RTR on our next visit to Exuma!

Home is very much as advertised. Samuel did a good job of communicating with us. This house fit our needs very well but is definitely a bare bones simple house. Neighbors are very friendly and we will definitely go back.

Amazing view and can’t beat the price. Basic, but has everything you need. Very clean and Samuel is great with communication.

My spouse and I stayed at the rolleville retreat for 5 nights. This is no luxury retreat so please know that going in. It suited us just fine. The directions were a little different to figure out.. what they call a road and what Americans call a road slightly differ. It is located right by haoulover bay.
We took the 2 person kayak out every day. We found a CITY of stingrays, puffer fish, and lemon sharks (7-9 shark and 20plus rays) over on man o war cay. We also loaded the kayak on the roof of our rental jeep (Exuma airport rentals- please note their tops don’t come off) and went to the lazy river. Which is near the bridge to little Exuma. Their is ac in each bedroom and we was very comfortable (even cold lol). We checked in early, was able to do so by communicating with the owner and the cleaning lady. This was our first trip to Exuma and we did enjoy it. The biggest thing I will say to others is finding nice sit down dinners like we have in the US is difficult to find in Exuma. It’s a lot of fried food. A lot if places aren’t open. I do recommend eating from the neighbor Courtney, she has a white board out front and she cooks. You take the food to go. It was one of the better meals we had ion the island.. she does not cook on Sunday. In fact a lot of places do not. Just an fyi.
We will definitely stay again at this home. I saw someone say the sheets never stay on the bed and oh my goodness they do not! Lol
The hot water breaker tripped on us a few times. We just reset it. So if your using the washer and coffee pot and shower at the same time, it may trip. I definitely recommend this place to those who are adventurous and wanting to spend their money doing things and seeing the island. Thank you Sam for sharing your home. We will be back :)

We loved our stay!! The view is spectacular!! We are very simple people and love off the beaten path travel. This fit the bill perfectly. It had everything we needed. It was not a 5 star resort, but that isn't what we like. The owner and his uncle were fabulous and accommodating. The house is very secluded at the end of the road. The road is ROUGH. Take it slow on the road, and all is good. Bug spray is MUST. There was ac in the bedrooms but one didn't work. We used two fans in that room at night and it was fine. I would recommend this little hideaway and would stay again.
*The tide is strong when you swim out a bit from the beach, so be prepared and if you aren't a strong swimmer please use the provided life vest. My daughter and I kayaked and I went to Man O War key at low tide (swimming and walking). There were baby sharks in the low water of Man O War Cay shore (blacktip reef sharks) that we scared when we walked up on them.

We had a great time at the stay of this property. There was some communication issues, but were quickly resolved. Samuel and his Uncle were very welcoming.
The only thing I would change would be the sheets, they never stayed on the bed.

Great property
Arrived at airport and met by James who we rented a car from. Would highly recommend for getting around and James lives right up the road. Samuel was great communicating. Took us a minute to find and once we did we were a little worried about location. It turned out absolutely perfect l. Samuel has everything you need. Beach is right down a path. Water is breathtaking. My family enjoyed it so much and will be back. FYI things close super early and gas station that we found was not open on Sunday. Everyone in Exuma were so friendly. This was definitely a relaxing spot. If your looking for more tourists area this is not it. It was perfect for our family. We also did swimming with pig excursion and it is pricey but they take you all day and you get to see so much exuma has to offer not just pigs!

Loved it!
My husband and I stayed at the Rolle Town Retreat 6/17/22 - 6/24/22. We could not have loved it more. Please know, the RTR is not fancy. If you are looking for granite counters, fancy decor and landscaping, this is not the place for you. If a clean, comfy, secluded spot is what you like, this is it! The very best part about RTR is the location. The "private" beach and access to Man O War Cay and the MOW Cay sandbar are incredible!! At low tide you can literally walk from the beach over to Stash Island and explore the entire area on foot. The wildlife (Lemon sharks, nurse sharks, Rays, starfish, Bone fish even a couple turtles) is so amazing!! Not to mention kayaking from RTR over to Man O War Cay and Moriah Cay. Wow! If getting away from it all, enjoying nature and peaceful surroundings is for you then you will love RTR!

Heavenly Private Beach
My wife and I recently stayed here from June 14-17, 2022. Our favorite part of the stay was the private beach that is a very easy and short walk from the house. We took the provided lounge chairs down to the beach every afternoon and enjoyed a quiet swim and cocktails as we watched the tide slowly come in. It was a truly beautiful scene that we will never forget. Just beware the minute the sun goes down the mosquitoes will pounce on you :) One of the other things that made the stay great was the availability of a car. Samuael put us into contact with James, who was handling the property. James was so accommodating in meeting us to pick up the car and drop the car off on the day we were leaving. James was so friendly and we were very appreciative having him to help. Also, Samuel was very easy to communicate with and he responded quickly to every communication we sent. Very appreciative of his time and help. The house itself was a little "rustic" for us. The A/C in the bedrooms was great but the rest of the house was fairly hot until the early morning hours. The first night in the house there must have been a storm somewhere on the island because the power went out twice which made the house incredibly hot. Fortunately, we did not have to experience that again during the rest of our stay. We also had some cute little geckos in our bed when we pulled back the covers to go to bed. But, the house is in a bit of a remote location. Samuel was having a deck built onto the side of the house so the workers were there each day but they were super friendly and the noise was not an issue because we were exploring the island most of the days. And they were accommodating in not beginning work at the crack of dawn. Very much appreciated. If you plan to stay here, just recognize that the house itself needs some updating/finishing and you will probably not want to spend a lot of time inside. But, the beach and having access to a car are worth it. And, Samuel and James are a pleasure to work with. They truly go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable experience.

Best beach getaway ever
My bucket list vacation to the exumas was made possible with this rental and did not disappoint!
Not only was this rental affordable -but the seclusion and scenery surpassed our expectations!
Every detail from start to finish was spot on and went smoothly!
I wish to come back to finish exploring the places we couldn’t fit it. Wish for sooner than later!

We stayed here for almost 2 weeks. This is the type of place you go to “get away from it all”. This is Not a luxury rental- it is very basic but spacious and clean. When I first walked in I could immediately tell it was recently cleaned (that fresh bleach smell and linens were freshly laundered). I would have liked to have had a roll of paper towels and a bottle of cleaning spray just bc our stay was so long, but everything can be bought at Exuma market which is about a $40 round trip if you taxi. This place is a bit secluded (which is why we booked it!!!) on a bumpy back road but is peaceful, quiet, tranquil and private. You will need a car or hire a taxi- the owners family member is a driver and super reliable and friendly so we used him. There is a small beach right out front that you’ll basically have to yourselves, I think we saw one person the entire time. We cooked for ourselves almost every meal (except for when we went to Haulover Bay Bar & Grill which is a short walk but limited hours and limited items). The kitchen in this house is great, my only suggestion to the owner would be to add some sort of tray that you can use in the oven, even a cookie sheet would work, there were only pots and pans so we could only use the stove top. We also did our own laundry, there’s a new washer which worked great and a clothes line out back to hang everything. We used the available kayak almost daily and paddled out to Man-O-War Cay, which we also had completely to ourselves! Absol

Perfect Location!
When we were booking, we were looking for something right on the water that wasn't too busy. The location of the property is perfect! The beach access is easy to get to, the water was calm in the cove and we were able to go to the small little island across from the beach fairly easily. Having the two person kayak was a huge bonus. The house is quaint - would describe it as a little cabin in the woods which was perfect for what we were looking for.
The host was amazing with communication and was great to work with. I would absolutely go back to this location the next time we are in Exuma.

Little slice of paradise
This place is an amazing, quiet secluded little bit of paradise. Days of sun, sand, sea, and countless stars over a private little beach. Sam and James are great, friendly & hospitable. I can't wait to come back to this little gem. Don't hesitate to book this place.

Kind hearted host
We tested positive for Covid the day before departure and had to cancel our trip last minute. Samuel was incredibly kind and understanding. We hope to be able to travel to his property in March.

We enjoyed our vacation, despite a few hiccups.
Check-in was easy, James met my family and I at the airport where he handed us the keys to the house with some verbal directions as to where to find the house. We also rented a car from him. The house was spacious with white walls in every room. The house came equipped with everything that we needed to prepare a meal, towels, life jackets a kayak with paddles, a cooler that we used for our drinks and fishing. Samuel, the owner who did not stay on the island was easy to reach via messaging and answered quickly. The first day the water heater sparked, smoked, and needed to be replaced. This didn't happen right away the new water heater had to be flown in from Nassau. On the 3rd day of our stay, the plumber arrived to install the new water heater. However, it still did not work properly for the remainder of our trip, the breaker kept tripping, we had no consistent hot water. The biggest issue for me was the spring bed, which my five-year-old described as a crunchy bed. It kept us up and was painful to sleep on. The deck could do with power washing. The refrigerator constantly leaked water so we had to mop several times a day. The air conditioning could do with some TLC in both rooms. None of this deterred us from enjoying our vacation in Exuma. The house is in a beautiful location we were able to kayak across to the other Island and Explorer. We will be visiting Exuma again and again however we would just choose another place to stay.

Wonderful time
Property is very well located and has stunning view. Beach is just steps from the house and is very quiet and private. House is equipped with everything we need during our stay. Free kayak is huge advantage and gives a lot of fun :) Excellent contact with host.

Great Stay
I would recommend staying at Sam's place. The location to the beach was one minute on foot and he provided a Kayak which was great and a short Kayak over the sandbank at you've got your own beach for the day. Everything you need is there and the outstanding beauty of the Island is just incredible.
Would I stay there again - YESSSSSSS!
Sam was a great host and he get's 5* from me.

Great, secluded, frugal option south of Georgetown
Great place, while very simple, though it had most necessities. AC was available in both bedrooms (only). The kayak and chaise lounges were available for use too. The location, view, water access, etc. were simply amazing. I’d definitely return!

3rd Stay at Rolle Town Retreat!
My husband and I stayed at Rolle Town Retreat for the 3rd time since November. The area is our favorite in Exuma...the color and clarity of the water, the beaches and sandbars, the friendly locals, proximity to Georgetown, restaurants nearby. We were lucky enough to stay for 8 nights this time and enjoyed every moment of it! We come here to escape the hustle and bustle of South Florida, enjoy the outdoors, appreciate simple things, and of course...the Exuma water, nothing compares! Rolle Town Retreat checks all of our boxes! The owner and caretaker, Sam and James, are awesome, very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back soon!!!

Just as described
We stayed for two nights in June and absolutely loved the privacy, the secluded beach, the firepit, and use of the kayak. The house is very much as described. As others have indicated, it's basic - we considered it a version of glamping (with bonuses of a full kitchen. wifi, TV, and AC in the bedrooms). It was a little more remote than we expected and since several restaurants (including Haulover Bay just up the street) closed before dinner, we hadn't prepared for cooking meals at home in the evening. Since there is no AC in the living/dining room and kitchen, cooking was pretty hot. We packed a picnic lunch and kayaked across to the key, where we had the entire island to ourselves. The beach in front of the house was only visited by a couple of locals during our stay, so it's definitely as lovely and private as described. Sam and James were helpful and easy to communicate with. Vanessa (whom we rented a car from) was very nice and also very helpful.

The perfect getaway
My husband and I were looking for the perfect place to honeymoon that included seclusion, adventure, and beautiful scenery - this property was everything we expected and more. The private beach is absolutely breathtaking and we had a wonderful time kayaking and exploring the area. Vanessa was awesome and made the rental car process seamless- she also gave us a tour and showed us where the gas station, grocery stores, and restaurants were. The owner is phenomenal and answered any and all questions before and during our stay. I can not say enough about how excellent the communication was throughout this rental process and for me, that’s a huge bonus. If you’re looking for peace, seclusion, and adventure- look no further- this is the place for you! Thank you Rolle Town Retreat for making our honeymoon one for the books :).

Nothing short of Perfect
This quaint cottage in historic Rolle Town was perfect for my wife and I. Every morning you can look out across the bay to Man o War cay. The kayak is great for exploring around the island, great restaurant at the top of the street within walking distance, and close to convenience stores (if you head south on Queen's Hwy) that are about a 4 minute drive away.
It's a must to rent a car to get around. James has one for rent, although I rented a small car from one of Samuel's contacts--The location is about a 15 minute drive to Georgetown, where you can find the marina, markets, shops, and cafes. you can also head south about 20 minutes to William's Town and get some baked goods at Mom's Bakery or hit Satana's next door for the best grouper and peas and rice you'll ever eat.
James and Samuel were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. This was one of the most memorable trips we've ever taken in our lives. You have to see it for yourself. The beauty of Exuma is hard to put into words. I will definitely come back and would gladly rent this property again.
