We loved our stay at Barefeet Retreat! As a family with an 8 month old and a 3 year old we greatly appreciated the helpful details of this home- a pack n play, a foldable crib with mattress and waterproof cover, folding rocking chair, high chair, baby and toddler Utensils, beach/sand toys. Also the safety features of the gates on the covered porch and stairs, pool gate, and gated playground area were a plus. We loved the heated outdoor shower. The house was also great for furry friends. Extra dog bowls, dog beds, a crate were all provided. There was everything needed to cook. Loved the blender for smoothies. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows. They even had some tools we used to fix the mirror of our golf cart. The pool was amazing. Beach chairs, umbrellas were provided. Overall the most functional and best vacation rental we’ve ever had!

Exactly as described and pictured. A beautiful home, very close to the beach - easy enough for me and my husband to pull our toddlers in the wagon to the beach! Truly well thought out, there was no necessity missing. Host was very responsive to questions before the trip. Could not have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend!

Beautiful property! Very clean. They had it stocked with everything you can think of. The pool was wonderful. It was still chilly outside so the extra cost for the pool to be heated was well worth it! We will definitely stay here again!

The property was exactly what we needed with space for our two young adult sons, our dog, and ourselves. Communication was good and the owner gave us the information we needed about the house and the area. The pool was lovely and even allowed for some laps. The fenced area and gates on the stairs and balcony were perfect for our furry family member. The house was not right on the beach although it was physically closer to it than some houses we have stayed in with a beach view. There were 2 houses between us and the view, but the beach was within easy walking distance via side streets and we even saw some dolphins and pelicans from the piece of ocean we could see on the balcony. The balcony had a lovely breeze and comfortable chairs along with a table for dining. The fire-pit was fun and we were able to admire the stars while roasting marshmallows. The outdoor shower was convenient for sand and the downstairs area with the grill and table would be a nice area to hang out in warmer months. Parking was easy, the lot was open to other houses surrounding it but shielded from the street. Landscaping was nice with oleanders in bloom and beach oaks. Tips: Bikes were easy to rent and town was 1.5 miles with a sidewalk. The beach was not crowded and we had some nice walks beach combing at low tide. Apalachicola is about 30 min. away for shopping and touring. Food on the island is expensive and so/so quality, stocked kitchen was nice to have. No-see-ums were biting, bring bug spray.

This property was perfect for our family. It was clean, cute and a short walk to the beach. The pool was great. We decided to pay the extra to heat it and we’re glad we did. It was a cool, windy week. We’ve already decided to book here again next year!

We enjoyed every bit of SGI and the Barefoot Retreat during our weeklong stay. The house was perfect for our small family and yellow lab. It was wonderfully clean and truly had everything we needed. We loved the pool, deck, short walk to the beach and playing cornhole under the house. The home and island were dog friendly. We want to compliment the layout of the home and yard. The gates and the way the deck connected to the stairs and fenced area was perfect for our dog and would be ideal for small children too! Not to mention, you can see and hear the ocean and gaze at all of the stars! We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at the Barefoot Retreat! The home was very clean and beautifully decorated. We loved the proximity to the beach, the pool, dog area, fire pit and lovely porch. We paid for the pool heat and it was perfect even with evening temps in the 60s. Kenny and Susan were responsive and helpful in every way. It was a wonderful week of relaxation with our kids and dogs!

This was our first visit to SGI. We traveled with 2 couples, a 2 and 6 year old and 2 dogs. The home was exactly as pictured/described. The walk to the beach was a quick 5 mins. VERY dog friendly. 1.5 mile walk to the lighthouse. We had plenty of room for living, cooking, playing. The kitchen was well stocked. The fenced in area was perfect for containing the dogs and the kids. We paid extra to heat the pool and were glad we did. The weather was mid 60’s and windy most of the time. We still had plenty of beach time but when it got too chilly, the pool was nice. It was WARM from day 1. Another review mentioned it didn’t get warm enough in time, we did not have that problem. It was like bath water. We used the fire pit and enjoyed the downstairs seating, swing and grill area. The grill is like one you’d see at a park, so not huge if you have a lot of grilling to do. Plenty of beach chairs and beach umbrellas. Towels in the home were pretty limited, so plan to do laundry while you’re there. Extra paper towel, tp, laundry pods, dish pods, dish soap, trash bags were all provided. Beds were super comfy. We loved the deck off the back of the house and the slight view of the water was a plus. Last and most importantly, Susan was incredible! She responds practically instantly and is so kind. Really incredible customer service. This was hands down our best rental experience ever and we’ve had many. I’m sure I’m leaving details out, but I promise you will be happy with this house!

We loved our getaway for Thanksgiving with our little family...and our fur babies! ❤️ Everything was just perfect, and we felt right at home! It was clean, and the amenities made it feel like home, and more! The location was wonderful. We felt secluded, yet close to everything, and could take a quick walk or bike ride to the beach! Just the outside area alone was a hit for our kiddos! They loved the play area and fire pit area. We cannot wait to visit again! 😍

As with previous stays at this home, everything was perfect! I wish the weather would have been better but can't control Mother Nature! Highly recommend this home!

This house and location are Amazing! The owners have thought of everything! It is extremely clean and the pool is awesome ! The sand area is fenced in for pets and extremely safe. Our fur babies (2) labs really enjoyed the safe area to run around. We rented a golf cart for the week and had a blast roaming around the island The restaurants and shopping were extremely close by. The view of the beach and Gulf of Mexico are priceless Five star ! Love it The owner is also extremely quick in responding.

The beach house was amazing. Very clean and had everything you needed. I have stayed in many places before but this was definitely one of my favorites. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for sharing you beautiful beach house

We had tons of fun and made unforgettable memories with my husband and our fur babies. The location was perfect ! We rented a golf car for a week and drove around. Beach was super close and house was clean ! They have more than everything we needed ! Definitely coming back :) Susan and Kenny are so quick to reply our message and we felt we were so welcomed.

The best of the best on this island. Property and house are very cozy and clean. Pool area very nice, pool pretty big and clean. Everyone was happy. Looking forward to rent for next year.

This place was fantastic. Just as advertised. The owner was very responsive and helpful with questions. They thought of everything, especially for the dogs. Dog beds, food/water bowls, blankets etc. There were beach games, corn hole, boogie boards already there. No need to pack that stuff. And It was a short walk to the beach boardwalk. We will definitely be back when we have the opportunity.

This home is first class all the way, in our opinion. It’s very well furnished and equipped, very clean and neat, in a great location that is close to the beach and the bay, and there is ample room underneath the house for parking, games, and relaxation. The porch is nice and provides an amazing view of the sunrise and a peek at the ocean. We can’t wait to stay here again!

If you are bringing your dog to SGI, this is the place to be. Simply said: a lovely stay!

We had a wonderful time on our Spring Break. The house was clean and very well stocked. The location was perfect, a very short walk to the beach. We also enjoyed the pool, fire pit and the swing under the deck. We will be a repeat customer!

The beach house was clean, modern, and looked exactly like the photos. It was in a great location close to the beach access. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting/dining in the outdoor spaces and use of the pool. The owners were great to work with, very prompt in their communication and it was no problem to add the pool heater a week before our visit. We appreciated it very much! This was our first trip to SGI and the beautiful beach house helped to make our trip even more memorable. We would definitely stay here again!

Great home, great location! Very pet friendly which made relaxing a breeze. Beautiful home, great size so plenty of space for everyone and a weeks stay! Very nice and responsive hosts. Short walk to beach. Was perfect getaway for thanksgiving, Only down side is the heater for the pool took more than 2 days to get to a useable temp. There were some chilly days that added to the struggle , so pending how long your stay is, 250$ for heat may not be worth it. We would likely opt out in that in the future but would love to come back in summer when can use pool more. Would def book again!

House well stocked, clean and well decorated. Easy walk to beach and several blocks to bay. Fenced in yard with sand worked very well with our dog. So enjoyed sitting on deck watching sunrise and sunset.

Absolutely beautiful property and the owners truly thought of everything. The kitchen is fully stocked, the new pool area was great to relax in and they even had beach chairs and umbrellas for our time at the beach. The home itself is beautiful and newly built with plenty of space. We rented a golf cart to tour the island. It was our first visit to St George Island and we loved being on "island time."
