Location but without a car limited travel possible due to bus timetable. Perfect for food and pub. Very quiet and peaceful.
Dodgy pipe system re toilets. If you know what I mean. Stairs to upstairs rooms hazardous and not suitable for disabled. Toilet and shower facilities both down stairs.

Beautiful and cosy cottage.
Superb location. On a glorious part of the east coast of Arran. Close to both Corrie and Sannox which are lovely villages.
A few things could be modernised to make the stay more comfortable.
The beds and linen are all pretty low spec. and tatty and could do with updating.
The beds were very uncomfortable and I would expect a comfy bed at that price.
The cottage was not that clean on our arrival (eg lots of dust and cobwebs in corners!). There was an overflowing pot of water catching a leak under the kitchen sink.
There was very limited kindling for the fire.
It would be helpful if customers could be given
some warning about narrow driveway. It would be impossible to turn a larger vehicle at the top.

The cottage was very cosy. Amazing view and wildlife. The Mara fish bar and Corrie Hotel 2 minutes away.
Not staying longer!

Location. Kitchen fully equipped. Cosy cottage.
Booked 3 bed cottage for 5 adults. Only 2 beds were made up as bedrooms, set up as twin rooms. The third bedroom was set up as a kids gaming room with a small bed settee to be made up as a bed. Which didn’t pull out and was too small to be used as a bed in situ. There was a quilt but no cover, no pillows and no towels. 80 year old guest ended up sleeping on settee in lounge….. should be advertised as 2 bed.

Cosy and great location
a bit tired in the bedrooms and bathrooms
2.5
I liked the location, it had 2 bathrooms, a separate dining room and a garden with a view of the sea.
Two of the cupboard doors in the kitchen were broken and almost hanging off. Also missing handle from one draw too. Easy fixes so don't understand why they haven't bothered as they've clearly been like this for a long time ( you can see the screw holes have been re-screwed and bodged many times!). I contacted Car-Mac Property services immediately, then chased them up again, still haven't heard anything nearly a week later, they obviously don't care.
Cupboard in bedroom had unsightly expanding foam, again an easy fix with a piece of timber to cover.
One loo roll per bathroom is very stingy.
Cleanliness not great; thick layer of dust on wood burner in lounge, clearly not wiped for a very long time.
Mould on silicone around bath. Grime in corners of floor in bathroom.
Wallpaper coming off in downstairs bedroom and hallway.
This property has not been cared for, hence all of the above issues. It just needs some TLC which wouldn't cost much or take much effort to improve.
Front driveway is very tight due to chopped down tree root. A bigger or more expensive car would be too close for comfort.
Overall, it was a disappointing stay for the above mentioned issues that let the place down. More than that Car-Mac Property Services are clearly not interested choosing to ignore my emails for almost a week now. For the money, it was overpiced and I wouldn't recommend it or Car-Mac.

Great cottage which was ideal for our short stay on Arran. Plenty of room, nice and clean and the kitchen had everything needed for us to self-cater. Being pet friendly was very helpful for us as well.
Nothing to improve!

The kitchen was very well equipped
The sitting room was lovely and the views were great
At 11pm on the last evening we had to unravel the only remaining toilet roll to share between the bathrooms
3.5
The location and the quirkiness of the cottage.
The wet bathroom felt like a mini-clubhouse changing room, and smelled like that, too.
1.5
The cottage was spacious, with good facilities in the kitchen.
The drive was impossible to drive our car up. Once inside, the house smelt very strongly of around 12 sachets/bottles of air freshener- it made us feel a bit sick. Without them the house smelt bad, damp and unpleasant. The shower in the larger bathroom was just a trickle and hardly usable. The shower in the ensuite was also little more than a trickle, and because the house was so damp the bathroom floor stayed wet for around 18-20 hours (wet room type bathroom). There was evidence of black mould having been wiped away.
There were no batteries in the blu-ray remote control, and no offer to deliver any, so we could not watch a movie as planned. We got soaked one afternoon, and had hoped to have a fire in the log burner - hardly any logs and no matches. Alan told us the previous guests must have taken them. Due to the house being so cold and damp our shoes and clothes stayed wet the rest of the time we were there. We had the electric heaters turned on but they were useless.
The double bed upstairs was okay, but the twin beds downstairs had strange, very smelly foam ‘mattresses’ placed upon the normal mattresses and there was torn bedding.
We were really disappointed, and don’t really understand how Cromla Cottage has managed to get so many positive reviews.

Property was a good size and had everything we needed. Could easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 16/17 year olds. Lovely area and great views even on a damp weekend. Perfect location for exploring Arran.
I found the stairs unmanageable due to their steepness and my osteoarthritis in both knees but the twin room down stairs was a relief.
The cottage does have quite a number of scented items that can cause issues/migraines for those sensitive to these things but opening windows and doors helped overcome this.
4.5
Lovely & cosy cottage with great facilities included & great location. Really enjoyed sitting with our tea looking out towards the sea! Alan was always quick to respond to any questions which was great.
I personally didn’t like the foam mattress on my bed as I have a bad back so it was far too soft for me but my son & mum said they were fine with them and had a good sleep.
3.5
it was pretty and well stocked with games and things for kids. Had a very nice vibe.
It was not cleaned properly. One of the beds had previous persons things in it. The floors were dirty and not vacuumed properly.
3.5
very well stocked, loads of charm and interesting features, nicely tucked back from the road, very close to the Corrie Hotel for food, drinks, and friendly people
the lower bedroom twin beds were terribly uncomfortable with hard springs sticking right into you, and the shower in that room was a bit awkward (the other shower/bathroom was excellent) — since we came in December, there was nothing available to do within walking distance except the Corrie Hotel, and there wasn’t a car available for rent on the island after we arrived, so we were a bit limited in what we could do—no one mentioned to us that the place would be essentially shut down during our stay, and websites did not make that obvious either ….

I appreciated the fact the place wasn’t littered with signs telling us what we couldn’t do. it was relaxed, not preachy. fantastic location. very well equipped, very family friendly.
the driveway killed us. we were blessed with mostly fine weather but once it rained the place was kind of dark. not much you can do about either aspect, I appreciate that, just pointing out in the spirit of honesty

Cosy, well equipped, clean
had to use sofa bed-not very comfortable

We loved the red squirrels cross the front garden, as well as the sea in front of the cottage. A very popular food place is right next to the cottage and we did enjoy the food there. The location is excellent and the environment very pleasant.

The host was extremely helpful with our extra requests. The information given was very helpful in planning our activities
our stay was too short but that was our fault

Lovely self catering property. Spotlessly clean. Good facilities.
The drive takes a bit of negotiating. It’s very narrow.
3.5
The place is quite comfortable, clean. Facilities are wonderful. Games are extremely enough to make the night warmer. We were really enjoying the music in the kitchen and a very beautiful dining room.
Unfortunately the bedroom on the ground floor smell wierd, and water heater is a bit difficult to control. An extra lighting in the dining room will make it perfect.

Perfect location in Corrie. Lovely sea view. Close to Corrie Hotel and Mara Fish Bar. Cottage is much bigger than we realised. Perfect for family of 5 plus dog. Would stay here again, and recommend to others.
Downstairs bathroom shower (off utility room). Seemed a bit temperamental, and very low pressure.

Great location close to the sea and hiking routes. Lovely spacious cottage with everything you would need for a comfortable stay.
Visit from a neighbour who said we had woken her friend having a party several nights before even though we had only just arrived that morning.

Love the island.
Access into the cottage with a large car was to say the least challenging. Its a long drive to carry all your luggage as an alternative. The double bed was extremely small for a tall person .
3.0
Location excellent
Showers are not very good, both toilet seats were loose and moved around when being used, damp smell from en-suite in ground floor bedroom, bathrooms need some attention, plastic covered mattresses which weren’t that comfortable, very narrow drive which is unsuitable for cars.

Lots of character, quite quaint and very cosy.
Both toilets are downstairs which wasn’t ideal for my 80 yr old dad during the night.

Lovely home, we were working in the area, and staying in a house suited us. Our host advised before we arrived about parking as we were bringing 2 vans and a trailer. Would come back with my family, as well as working.
No doslikes.

Lovely cottage in a great location.
Narrow drive is difficult to navigate but easy parking is available at the end of the drive.
