My family stayed at this cabin for our Christmas holiday and we had a lovely time. The location is private with amazing mountain views and boasts a quick walk to a charming creek. We were in an F-250 with 4x4 capabilities and had no difficulty making the trek up the steep inclined drive to the cabin. The only complaint for our family was the pots and pans, although were plentiful, they were in rough shape. The internet was spotty but that wasn't a huge deal for us. For a family of 6, the sleeping arrangments were comfortable and there was plenty of space where we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. This is the cabin for you if you want that remote and private vibe while being close to restaurants, museums, and outdoor activities.

When we walked in the front door, we we in awe! It was a beautiful 2 story cabin with a view that could make you cry. You can hear the creek from the porch, which is so relaxing. The path down to the creek is nice, make sure if you go down at night definitely take a flashlight, it gets dark. The hosts were very accommodating and easy to contact. The only thing to bring to attention is the drive up to the cabin, it is gravel and you will want to take a 4 wheel drive or something equivalent. We would definitely go back and for longer.

We had a wonderful time at Elk Path. The creek kept the kids mesmorized. Peter was awesome when we needed him and he answered all of our questions. We will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful accommodation. It is very secluded and tastefully furnished. However, there is very limited cell phone service and practically no internet. Four wheel drive is helpful on the road leading to the house.

Nice Place with Good Service
The property was clean and will kept. We had a few issues with the road because we didn't have 4 wheel drive but the property manager was extremely responsive and helpful in finding resolution. All in all, we have a good stay.

It was a very nice remotely located property which was what we were looking for. Although it was close to downtown Waynesville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and nicely located to make a day trip to Pigeon Forge. The creek and waterfall were a huge hit with our daughter and the massive bull elk that seemed to stay around our location was excellent too.
Beautiful and recommend highly!

Great place but..
I loved the property the cabin was on. Beautiful scenery and the freshest air you'll ever breath. Unfortunately, the residence had a mice problem. We didn't notice until our last few days but, mice carry diseases so I thought it was a little nasty that we saw more than one mouse in the cabin.
Other than that, beautiful place. I hope they get rid of the mouse problem soon, I would love to visit again.

Quick Weekend in Maggie Valley
This is a great cabin for a family! Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and away from the crowds. The trail to the creek from the cabin was huge hit with the kids. Driveway is steep but we are in a 4x4 so no problem there. Would stay here again.

A Lovely Mountain House
We had a great time staying in the cabin. The view is beautiful and the home has everything you could desire. We really enjoyed our day trips into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Asheville, Waynesville, Dillsboro, Bryson City, and Cherokee. Our drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway were spectacular! The WiFi reception is on and off and the cell phone connections are poor. The road to the cabin is very steep and requires off road driving experience. Overall, we had a fabulous time!

House was very clean, sound of running stream below was relaxing. Advertised to sleep 8 but beds only for 6. Gravel road a little tricky getting up, but learned the trick on how to get up. I would definitely rent again. Enjoyed the cooler temperatures at the higher altitude.

A wonderful home, quietly tucked away in the beautiful landscape. All we could hear was the babbling creek behind the house. A very short drive to multiple excursions. We went white water rafting, hiked and visited waterfalls, all to return to a peaceful evening around the fire pit. The home was immaculate and well stocked, truly a home away from home!

Loved the Cabin. We stayed there in July with our 2 daughters. It is really peaceful and you can hear the waterfall from outside and the room upstairs. It was really comfortable and the view is great. Just make sure you have a vehicle that can go on gavels because the last 100 feet is pretty steep going uphill. Our 2 wheel drive minivan was able to do it but having a 4 wheel drive would have been easier. Overall I would recommend it to anyone and would like to stay there again in the future.

If you are looking for the more relaxed / less touristy cabin / locale this one is for you. Great property beautiful views and easy hike down to the mountain stream. The property was very well cleaned. The last of the drive up the mountain is a bit tricky but we faired just fine in a 2WD suburban. In winter you would need 4wd.

This cabin was a great relaxing getaway with close proximity to easy hikes and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We loved being nestled in the woods, being able to rock in comfy chairs and awake to the sound of birds chirping, and fall asleep to the creek running. Very relaxing.

The cabin was beautiful. The sound of the nearby creek was the mist abs big part for me. I sat on the porch and enjoyed the quiet and serenity.
The beds were comfortable. Kids enjoyed the foosball table a great deal as well as playing in the creek.
The fridge had a slight problem when we first arrived but owners were swift to take care of it and all was well.
Great stay!

Great place to stay! The cabin was stocked with everything you could need, minus food of course. Restaurants & grocery stores were easy to find. Definitely need to have 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive to get up the last road. Beautiful cabin & area. It felt like home. We loved it!

We loved our stay at the cabin. Beautiful views of the mountains and a beautiful porch on which to drink coffee. Loved having a fire pit and the convenient path to the creek behind the cabin. I would highly recommend this place! The drive up to the cabin is a little rough/steep but just take your time and you'll be fine.

You should really have a 4x4 to get up the road prior to the house. We got stuck so my husband had to try and fix the road so we could get back down. Luckily our daughter was staying close by and picked us up with their vehicle. Other than that we loved our stay. Very peaceful with the sound of the creek from the deck! There is a beautiful walkway to the creek. Plenty of towels and dishes to use and a nice assortment of games our grandkids loved when the came to visit. The internet is very slow so be prepared not to have cell service. There is a landline to use if needed. All in all, except for the road, we loved our stay.

Amazing House - Very Remote
The house was outstanding! It has a beautiful, modern kitchen and an amazing wrap-around porch with a view of the mountains (the porch was definitely our favorite feature). The house is VERY well stocked (everything you would need in the kitchen except food, plenty of linens, literally HUNDREDS of kids DVDs, board games, puzzles, a foosball table, etc, etc, etc). It is very clean and looks recently updated. The property is heavily wooded and has a well maintained path down to the creek running behind the house - you definitely feel like you're in the middle of nowhere though it's just a 10 minute drive into town. The creek can be heard from the porch which makes it very relaxing outside. The house is up around 4300 feet altitude, so it's much cooler even than Maggie Valley itself, which is wonderful in the summer.
The ONLY downsides to this property are (1) the road leading to it (Irene Lane) is a very steep gravel road that would be hell in the winter (we have an AWD vehicle and were thankful we did) and (2) the wifi is very slow (~3 Mbps) - though depending on how "disconnected" you want to be on your vacation, this could be a "feature". It's fine for surfing the web and email, but don't expect to binge Netflix or do video conferencing with your family.
So, if you want to be somewhere beautiful and remote and have a AWD vehicle, this place would be hard to beat!
