Difficult to find.

Excellent location, very convenient drive to Franz Josef. Facilities were really good inside with everything convenient! Hosts were really nice and left us a Christmas treat which was a nice touch.

The location was beautiful with stunning sunsets. The attention to detail and small touches made our 3 night stay feel like home. Loved the breakfast items so we didn't need to worry about skipping breakfast too! Lovely hosts!

Beautiful property with incredible views of the mountains. Some very cute miniature horses on the fields as well! The cabin itself was very cozy and had modern amenities. Everything was clean and we really appreciated the breakfast items and fresh fruit provided!

An attraction in its own right!! The cosiest, most gorgeous little cabin... Surrounded by picturesque mountains, with miniature horses and ducklings in the paddock next door, this felt like a retreat in every sense of the word. Private, beautifully furnished and incredibly comfortable, every detail felt thoughtful and luxurious. Spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and with lovely considerate hosts too, this place is an absolute gem! Can't wait to come back to spectacular NZ and Franz Josef, even if only so we can stay here again!!

The cabin is beautifully located and appointed. We were supplied with lovely breakfast choices, the bed was so comfortable, the shower excellent, the TV had great choices and the wifi worked perfectly. All in all an ideal accommodation, and so glad we found this one!

There is nothing we didn’t like, honestly.

Really loved all the little extra thought and care put into the room, it is well laid out with great amenities. The little extra touches like the separate breakfasts, fruit bowl, little choccies and shower stuff etc was really lovely.

Bigger bed would have been great.

it’s isolation, facilities, cleanliness, quietness, thoughtfulness of the owner’s. was and is the best place to stay of our holiday!!! Wow loved it!!

Location is a little bit north of Franz Josef which made it very peaceful. Breakfast was left in the room and was continental - there are no cooking facilities. We had quite bad weather, however the hosts did come over to make sure everything was ok which was much appreciated. Everything was clean and bed was comfy. Very good instructions on how to find the accommodation and keys are left in a lock box. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the peaceful location, watching the ponies in the paddock. Unfortunately the weather was awful and we only got glimpses of the hills. It was a very warm and comfortable place to spend a very wet day!

This gem is beautifully sited in a peaceful location. It was a lovely place to stay and the hosts were fantastic. The cabin is stunning and tasteful, a pure delight to stay in. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect property for a couple, cozy space with everything you could need in a great location.

Every detail is thought of for your comfort. Lovely secluded spot with amazing views and it really is a cozy cabin.

Driveway and parking a little bit tight for a larger vehicle.

Lovely place to stay, doesn’t have that commercial feel the you get with motels. the owners have dressed the cabin well from the blackout curtains and heat pump to the little chocolates with your towels. Would stay again for longer. So comfy!

A new comfy cottage in a rural location but still close enough to Franz Joseph township so as not to be a pain. Had everything needed for a short stay. Very relaxing stay- just what we wanted.

Access a bit tight with a large vehicle - just had to be careful.

We had such a lovely and comfortable stay at Cosy Cottage. The location is just out of town and makes for a tranquil spot to chill and enjoy the surroundings. Not too far out of town, just far enough. It was easy to find too. We did not get to meet our hosts, but found the continental breakfast provided was more than adequate and in a way it was kind of nice not having to commit to nominating a breakfast time. The room had everything we needed and we found the bed super comfortable-the best yet! Our hosts provided us with dining recommendations and Franz Josef did not disappoint in that regard. We left wishing we had been able to stay on longer here. We highly recommend this property and hope to be come back again ourselves for a longer stay next time. Clearly a lot of love, care and thought has been put in to setting up the cabin.
