We had nine people staying here and we had plenty of room since we reserved both buildings and more than ample parking for four vehicles. There was enough room for us all to have dinner together, beds were very comfortable, and no one had any complaints. The owner was in contact frequently to assure we had everything we needed and to see if we had questions. As mentioned in the write-up, there are trails accessible right from the property, and several nearby. We enjoyed a day at Ashland Town Beach and the kids loved jumping off the floating dock. They rented kayaks nearby and had a great time. I would recommend this rental!

My sister and I came up to the property for a weekend of R&R in late October. The Cotton Lake cabin turned out to be a great choice! It was very quiet at this time of year, which is exactly what we were looking for. The house is clean and beautifully decorated, with a rustic/moose-bear motif throughout, and complemented by photographs and artwork done by the hosts. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with cooking and baking supplies. The bathrooms are well appointed - we did not use the Jacuzzi tub but it was clean and looked inviting! The view is incredible and we enjoyed time out on the deck hanging out and taking it in. There is plenty of seating and looked ideal for a glass of wine with friends after a fun day at the lake or shopping.
A couple of things to know: as noted by other reviewers, the road to the cabin is very steep and I would make every effort to navigate it for the first time in the daylight. The blue bedroom does not appear to have a door between it and the main part of the house, and the upstairs bedroom has a curtain separating the stairs from the rest of the house. There is only one shower; the Jacuzzi has a spray attachment. This was not a problem for us but could be a consideration for others with privacy concerns. Also definitely recommend reading over the Guide to the house, it is helpful. Thanks to MIchael for keeping the hard copy of it on the coffeetable!

We had a beautiful stay at Cotton Lake Cabin - everything was perfect. The wonderful deck with amazing views, the very cozy, clean and well-equipped cabin, the fireplace, the very good communication with the host... We hope that we will stay there again in the future. Thank you, Michael!

This hillside vacation home is easy to rent. It consists of a main house and an adjacent casita. It is an enchanting property. The house is situated on a forested mountain with a view of Squam Lake from the deck that is truly spectacular. The indoor decor and furnishings are charming, and outside, colorful bird houses dot the gardens. The host was available by text and answered our questions promptly, however, there is an informative guest book (also available as a QR scan and website) which lists restaurants, boat rentals and attractions in the area. Our multi-aged family of 9 had an absolutely wonderful time!

Squam Lake Wedding
This property is truly as advertised and more. It was perfect for our pre-wedding family gathering. The host has gone out of his way to think of all the little details to make your stay perfect.
The views of the lake are magnificent. Just be aware that there is a trek up the mountain to get there, but worth it!

Solitude with a WOW view
This property has everything you need and then some. Our family of 5 had loads of space to relax! The house was well stocked with towels, meticulously clean, and so cutely decorated! Beautiful, secluded cabin on Mt Fayal
Beautiful cabin… we enjoyed our stay and loved the privacy. The road leading up to the cabin is mostly dirt and is very steep.

Amazing views, clean and quiet
We really enjoyed our stay. This home focused on every detail from the coffee maker to decorations. Beds were clean and comfortable, view and sunrise was best of the best. Be ready to relax. Road to cabin is a little steep with some turns on a dirt road but once you know the route it was easy. Neighbors all waived as we drove in or out.

Stay at Cotton Lake Cabin
This was our first visit in the area and our stay at cotton lake cabin made it exceptional! Location is great, cabin is perfect and just as described. Michael was very responsiveness. The small touches of deco, amenities and guides was very thoughtful and useful! Will definitely recommend and return.

Lovely family vacation
We had a gorgeous week at the cabin! 9 of us used the main cabin and casita and enjoyed plenty of room. The house is full of character and quality, and well stocked! Our favorite spot was the porch, watching the sunrise from the porch was amazing. Easy access to the beach and.harbor- we enjoyed a week of canoeing, boating and swimming. Thank you!

Tranquil
We had a wonderful time. This was a second booking due to our original house being cancelled due to COVID. I’m thankful we had the opportunity to discover this gem!
The house is beautiful and clearly cared for. There were a couple of details that could have been more clear in the description. It’s a very steep climb to their house in a vehicle on a dirt road. There’s also a lot of loose gravel, and we struggled in an AWD Kia the first day. Anyone in a car with this new gravel will need to be very cautious as they might ground out or get stuck.
They have beach access, and I assumed that included access to using their beach chairs (which is my own fault for assuming) so bring your own beach chairs!
It was a wonderful stay with beautiful views. We would definitely stay there again!

Hidden Gem
We stayed here this summer for a family vacation. The cabin has so much to offer. The rooms were spacious and clean and offered a homey appeal. The view is absolutely stunning. From the many rooms in the house are gorgeous views of Squam Lake and the wild life that surrounds it. It was so peaceful here. The owners are great. They are very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. A family vacation to remember!
