The location of the property is very convenient to Big Bend or River Road and the view is amazing! The property is quite quirky but totally rounded out our first time experience in West Texas.

Room was tidy and clean. There was no electricity the first couple of hours but that was a minor annoyance. I knew beforehand that the shower and toilet were communal, but I didn't like not having any water at all in my room. Be sure to consider that before you rent. It was walking distance to a coffee shop, restaurants, and store. This is a good base location for traveling in the Big Bend area. Overall, a good experience for me. However, I'm not sure I want to go the shared shower/toilet route again.

Really enjoyed staying here! The location is about 20 minutes away from Big Bend and is located right next to several fabulous restaurants (Starlight Theater, Cafe Y poco mas). Everything at the property was incredibly clean, and there were no issues sharing a bathroom with other guests. The shared outdoor spaces were wonderful for watching stars. Would absolutely recommend this place and would stay here again!

I had my doubts about this place when I first pulled up to it, but I ended up loving it. It's kind of a communal setting (but we all had our own bathrooms). There's an outdoor kitchen with a stove and a fridge, if you want to cook, and there is lots of outdoor seating. I ate at the nearby Mexican restaurant, which was really good. The nearest grocery store is about 15 minutes away. This place is convenient to Big Bend National Park, which is why I stayed there. The bed was very comfortable, and the place was very quiet. I slept like a rock.

Property was clean & great care has been taken to provide a nice outside area with great views. The bunkroom is pretty small & the community bathroom a minor inconvenience. All told we had a very positive experience.

Last night of our 5 day journey from Houston through San Antonio, Alpine, Maria and Big Bend, We saved the best for last! This place is so charming, and wonderful for friends. Even a delightful fire pit under the expansive stars, after dinner at one of the delightful places in walking distance. Great coffee is th e morning too. Even better than advertised. Only drawback was the per person charge - in the fine print- that showed up after we confirmed the reservation.

Great set-up

The property was very beautiful and very close to Big Bend National park. There were some hiccups over the weekend, but the property manager was very communicative and they went above and beyond to make me comfortable. I'd definitely go back again!

Loved the openness of the space and the comfort of the sleeping area. I was a little startled at not flushing the toilet paper but everything was kept clean. Never had to turn on the hot water since the cold was toasty warm. The kitchen was super. Nice to cook with a view. Had overall very enjoyable stay. The breakfast restaurant down the hill was a nice morning walk. My grandson loved the abandoned miners houses.

Loved the outdoor kitchen.cooked 3 dinners in 3days. Easy access to Big Bend. Will definitely come back when weather is cooler. Great coffee shop right there.

Room 2 was very comfy! The outdoor areaswere a great spot to relax qith a drink in the evening at catch the sunrise in the morning!

My wife was utterly charmed with the place and Sandy helped our daughter, whose suitcase had not come through to San Antonio, find some hiking clothes. Sandy went out of her way to help.

Just an incredible opportunity to stay in Terlingua. This place is so unique - an unforgettable mix of dark skies and peaceful evenings. Even though there are shared facilities, it adds to the coolness. Excellent tacos nearby and the best mocha for a chilly morning.

This place is a creative modernization of the old architecture, utilizing building materials similar to bygone days. The outdoor community areas were great, as I was traveling alone but was able to socialize around the fire.

One of a kind. Magical and superbly appointed.

Rustic, no frills, genuine, comfortable bedrooms. Spectacular night-sky views. About 25- 30 miles away from BBNP entrance. Finding the place at night can be tricky even if you follow directions, just takes some patience and common sense. Clean bathroom, clean shower with hot water. Kudos to the people who built and run this place. Coming the beauty and serenity of this place makes you ponder life's big questions.

Stayed at this property during an Artic Freeze. Joel was very accommodating with finding us a place to shower when the water pipes in our room froze.

Cute little room that sleeps 3. Very unique and adorable. Shared toilet and shower in separate rooms that you must walk outside to get to. Kitchen, microwave, fridge, all in shared outdoor kitchen. I wish I'd known about this place when my children were young, they would have loved it. The only thing that was bad was lack of restaurants. There were a few nearby but either not open when I wanted to eat or had 2 hour wait for a table or take out. This is a remote location but very near Big Bend.
