Loved the layout of the cabin with the sunken area in living room and outside deck. This exceeded our expectations as well as all the kitchen supplies and games! It was perfect for our extended family!

When we book this house, we like the way it looked and it was good price however when we arrived at the property we liked even more because this place was very clean very cozy and comfortable and the pictures doesn’t do justice. The owners of this place are great people. We has great communication with them. We stayed during the snow storm of March 1st and unfortunately the roads were closed and couldn’t return home on Sunday however thankfully the host allowed us to stay extra day without charge. I highly recommend this place and would come back in the future.

The cabin was great. Very clean when we arrived. Bedrooms and bathrooms were all very well kept. Plenty of towels and toiletries. The owners were very communicative with any questions I had and briefly met the property manager who cleared some now to give us parking for another car. Great location near ski resorts. Would stay here again.

The place was just as described and perfect for our ski vacation. Fully stocked kitchen made it a breeze to cook. Kids loved the living room pit and played there all the time.
Property manager was responsive to our questions and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to stay here again on our next trip to North Tahoe.

We had a great stay at this home. The house is very cozy and warm, We enjoyed the nice fireplace each evening. If you are a bit of a walker, you can walk down to the lake. We did a bit of skiing at both Northstar and Palisades, we enjoyed a trip over to Truckee and to South Lake Tahoe. The house has everything you need, bring yourself and clothes, you will enjoy your time here!

I can’t say enough great things! The house was exactly as described and better. Such a peaceful neighborhood. We all felt so welcomed and had the best time being able to enjoy our family time together. The owners and property management were amazing. We had everything we needed to cook meals and sleep so comfy. The sunken living room was great for the kids. They built a fort and all camped out. It was great seeing all the cousins getting to bond and be together. We had the best time and would love to book again. This was such a great home to spend your Tahoe vacation at!! I highly recommend booking!!!!!! Thank you so much VRBO and to the owners!!!

The house was very nice, location was good, nice neighborhood. We do a lot of cooking and were very pleased with the kitchen - fully stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils and pans. We enjoyed the large deck and grill. Bedrooms were clean and cozy. And, the pool table was a big hit!!

This spot was perfect for a ski weekend with friends. Liked that there were multiple bedrooms and beds, allowing many folks to have their own bed. Dave was easy to communicate with throughout the booking process and leading up to the weekend.

This home felt welcoming, cozy and sweet from the moment we walked in. The layout is perfect for groups, with a really smooth flow between the kitchen, dining table, and living room, and even the sliding doors to outside, so adults and kids could all be hanging out and connected, even when the kids were out on the deck playing in the snow and with the icicles hanging from the roof! It was safe for a baby and the rooms all felt very comfortable and pretty. Being in the cul-de-sac made for a quiet stay, safe for the kids to be out, and also so peaceful to go walk in the streets and neighborhood. We loved it and highly recommend it!

We had a great stay! We recently stayed here on a family ski trip to nearby Northstar. The house was very clean and livable, and access and communication with the owners were easy- the fireplace was a great bonus! We'd love to stay here again in the future!

We had a great time at Dave's family cabin. Everything was top-notch. The place was easy to find, very well located, _very_ clean, very comfortable and fitted with quality everyday items like soaps and well-performing appliances. The sunken pit was a delight for our 3 and 7 year old girls. The antique pool table made the stay very special for adults and the game closet was outstanding: Stratego and RISK anyone ? The beds were very comfortable and the thermostat easy to maneuver. We were a 7-people family from 3 to 77 years old and every single person had a great time. Dave was very quick while messaging and did everything to accommodate our requests. We'll definitely be back! Thanks Dave!!

We came to this cozy piece of paradise for Thanksgiving with 2 families with small children (ages 3-6). It was the perfect layout for 2 families since each floor has 2 rooms with its own bathroom. There was enough room where we all felt to have enough space but could come together in the cozy family room where it’s perfect for games and the kids loved to wrestle, play, and snuggle up for movies in the sunken in family room. The kitchen was fully stocked, and we had everything we needed to cook a lovely Thanksgiving dinner while watching the kids play outside building snowmen – the definition of an open concept downstairs area. The cabin was clean and close to everything we needed. Would recommend to all for a lovely stay in the beautiful mountains. Hosts were very courteous and responsive.

We had such a wonderful time here. We stayed with our friends who also have 2 small children and having separate wings to the house really helped. The in ground seating in the living room is where we spent most of our time hanging out. Overall, the place was awesome!

We really enjoyed our stay in this property. It's beautifully located on a quiet cul de sac, but within a 15 min walk to Patton Beach. The house is extremely well appointed, it has everything: well stocked kitchen, pantry staples, spices, condiments, lots of board games, beach towels, beach chairs, washer, dryer, propane grill, etc.
Owner was very responsive. Any questions we had were answered quickly and courteously. A wonderful experience all around!

Tahoe retreat
This was the perfect setting for our 3 generation family - infant, 4yr old to seniors. Relaxing on the shaded deck and outdoor dining was perfect plus an amazingly stocked kitchen. Good location for beach access and restaurants. We highly recommend this lovely home.

Nice home away from home
We had a great stay, the house is clean, spacious and there is a nice neighborhood. For the most part, easy communication with the host. Everything is detailed nicely on how to check-in and out. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back in the future.

Well-equipped & spacious North Shore cabin home
My group and I enjoyed our weekend stay at this cabin. It came well equipped and everything was in working order. All the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and it stayed a nice temp while sleeping there.
Word of advice - make sure to sign all require forms and respond to the property owners in a timely manner as they take it very seriously. If anyone in your party forgets the entry code to the door, the property manager will oblige, but the owner will not respond professionally. Best to figure it out on your own and not ask questions!

Cozy Cabin
I loved everything about this listing. The cabin was a perfect size for my friends and me. Our favorite spot had to be the living bc room with the sunk-in carpet floors where we could all gather in front of the fireplace with pillows and blankets. It’s a unique touch. Dave was also really quick with his responses during the whole planning process. I would highly recommend booking this cabin!

Amazing cabin to spend some time with your friends and family
The cabin was beautiful! It was very clean and felt truly like a vacation cabin. It easily accommodated our group of 10. It had enough beds, silverware, plates...etc for our large group. The living area was really nice. Even though there was no couch, there was an area in front of the fireplace for everyone to sit. We used this area to watch some movies and play a lot of board games. The property manager was super responsive and helpful! There were some rules around putting trash in the bear box that were new to me as a traveler, but the property manager helped me through the checkout process.
Overall, the place was amazing and I would definitely come back again for all my trips in north lake tahoe!

Beautiful property, great location, perfect for family
We rented this property to spend some time with family and friends and we couldn't be happier with the decision to rent Carnelian Bay Retreat.
The experience started with David. David is a great host and ensured he answered all our questions in a timely manner.
The house is very well maintained and everything was as pictured. We were a party of 6 adults and 4 kids and the sleeping arrangement was perfect for us. It had everything we needed (including the large collection of board games that kept the kids busy).
We were initially concerned about the parking, but there was sufficient space to park 2 large SUVs.
The location was also just right (within 10 mins of everything we needed - Beach, Food, groceries)
Overall a great experience and would highly recommend staying at the Carnelian Bay Retreat.

Awesome ski cabin
Stayed here in Jan 2022 for a ski trip to Palisades. Was perfect! The fireplace sunken lounge was fun and we played a bunch of board games down there.

WONDERFUL XMAS FAMILY HOLIDAY IN A COZY HOME!
Our Family had a most wonderful XMAS Holiday at your Carnelian Bay Home... our Home for a couple of days. Though our outdoor activities were limited!, as mother nature decided to dump more snow then we had hoped for, never the less the family time, the coziness of the house and not to forget the fire-pit area made up for it all. Through the many windows of the house we enjoyed the view of the winter wonderland while keeping warm. Beautiful memories to look back on indeed! we were 7 adults aging 20 up to 77; the house is indeed comfortable for 10; the house was clean and had the needed kitchen supplies we needed at hand.
Grocery store was at a short drive and the road in front of the house got snow plowed regularly making it easy for us to drive out with our SUV . We hope your future guests will have wonderful memories, same or better than we now have!

The Loveliest & Coziest Retreat
My friends and family had the immense pleasure staying at this cozy home tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. The space itself was cozy and so clean and equipped throughout the home. Plenty of cooking utensils for a long stay and was all-around such a comfortable and convenient and central spot to enjoy all the rest that Tahoe has to offer. Would recommend to anyone and everyone no matter the season.

Great home for a large group.
We spent two weeks at this Tahoe home. It was centrally located on the North Shore and we enjoyed the beaches, rafting, boating, dining and Shakespeare.
Our multi-generational group had fun being together, eating on the deck, playing board games, taking walks and seeing the bear in the garage of the house across the street. Quiet, relaxing and wonderfull.

Great family house! Easy walk to the lake and a few restaurants. We took advantage of the deck dining space at least once a day. The pool table was a hit , too!

Beautiful property, great location!
We loved staying at this property! The house was immaculate upon arrival and it had everything we needed. The rooms were comfortable, the outside deck was lovely, and since we enjoy cooking/grilling, we appreciated the quality kitchenware and Webber grill.
The location was fantastic…so close to the beach and just a quick, easy walk to restaurants and miniature golf. The cul de sac setting is great if you have young children.
The property manager, Steve and the owners, Dave and Carolyn were a pleasure to work with. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end and would highly recommend staying at the Carnelian Bay Retreat.
