Plenty of charm with thought going into making guests comfortable
Nothing!

Great location and lots to do at the hotel with a nice seating area outside, camp fire etc- great atmosphere!
We didn’t have to leave- having a meal at the restaurant/dining room and then outside for the evening atmosphere.
Would stay again- thanks so much!

The location was excellent.
The food in the restaurant was excellent.
Having to carry the breakfast hamper down 2 flights of stairs.

Dreadful experience. Unfortunately we paid £330 per night for this hellish experience. There was no heating in the morning and the room was freezing. 3 members of staff lied about and told us a different story each time. It was clearly so the owner could save money and he even told us we had to ‘request heating in advance’ when we quizzed him on it. The manager lied and said she had called a plumber. The main feature of the room, the roll top bath, was clogged up and not working, so staff had to pour toxic bleach down it whilst we were in the room and the owner was extremely obnoxious and rude when we asked about whether this or the heating would be fixed. We had to spend a whole night in horrible toxic fumes and were even told to ‘just have a bath’ when the acid was still in it! The manager then lied to us and said they’d give us our money back, but when we got home they accused us of stealing a meal from the restaurant in an attempt to avoid compensating us. I could hardly believe it. We told two members of staff, including the manager, we weren’t dining with them that night and have receipts to prove we ate elsewhere. This is a criminal offence and we were disgusted by our treatment. The breakfast was inconsistent and they didn’t provide any dairy alternatives despite me calling and emailing in advance. I’m having to send a legal letter to Booking.com who also had promised us a refund, but then only gave us half a night of credit to Booking.com £155 and not even to our original payment method. I’d never book with either of these companies again, as you won’t be covered if your holiday goes like this. After having a stroke, heart surgery and several other stressful events, this was extremely unpleasant and stressful and what was supposed to be our relaxing escape turned out to be a dreadful experience. I wish I could upload the film of the bath, but this site won’t let me do this.

Everything! The atmosphere and food is amazing, definitely a must visit if you're in the area!
Hogmanay party one of the best!

the rooms were very clean and beautiful, the bed was very comfortable
we waited around in the hall way to check in for a while, the noise in the rooms from the rest of the building is very loud with music playing until 11.30pm when I had to go downstairs to ask what time it would go on to and the staff member turning it off when I asked.
Sadly the meal in the restaurant was disappointing, we liked the wine and starter but our mains took a long time to come, they were both cold and the pork was too dry to eat. no one came to check and so when the plates were cleared I explained I wasn’t able to eat mine. we were not offered any compensation and the meal was still on the bill.
We were really sad as this was a treat for us visiting the area just to stay at the taybank and we went away feeling quite disappointed with a few things and didn’t feel at all rested and relaxed.

superb location. cosy pub downstairs with live music. dinner was excellent, room was comfortable. loved the breakfast basket!
Room was quite hot. shower didn’t drain and water spilled out into the bathroom

Really beautiful setting. The room was very tastefully done and the bathroom was lovely. The shower was powerful and the bathroom products smelt gorgeous. The breakfast was just right . We enjoyed the live music a lot.
The room was far too hot and despite having the bathroom and bedroom window open all evening and all night through to the morning, it remained absolutely stifling. It was also very noisy outside early morning with building work which couldn't be avoided by the hotel. We also found the bed and pillows uncomfortable which meant we had little sleep and sadly did detract from our stay.

The property was very high quality. It also had a beautiful riverfront beer garden across the way.

the room was stunning and the fact that the dog was aloud everywhere with us was a huge bonus! the outside restaurant was realy nice and had a great buzz around it!
nothing major but we did find it strange how there was no reception! other than that everything was perfect

Lovely ambience, and friendly , helpful staff.
A better breakfast. There was no butter for the croissant. Paintings on the bedroom walls. It was all a bit bare and utilitarian.

The space design caught our attention.
All rooms had a lovely decoration,
simple but welcoming.
The breakfast in a picnic basket is a
wonderful and super original idea, with
a big potencial, especially because
there are tables near the river that you
can use to have your meal.
The cleanliness of the space should
be improved.
Altough we appreciate the toilet tries
given, not all of them were topped up
properly.
In our apartment, the fridge was not
working.
We suggest some improvements for
the breakfast:
1) Asking previously, the dietary
preferences of the guests, to avoid
waists of food;
2) If the idea is going out with the
basket, it should include all the
elements you will need. ( e.g. cooked
eggs, cutlery, cups…)

The location of the Hotel is excellent, good car parking, room was clean and tidy and good decor
Customer Service was dire, no one managing the place and taking charge and greeting customers, the place is lost. The staff that were there seemed too busy doing their job to then have to drop everything, stop serving customers with drinks etc to then show us to our rooms. They did not even have any idea which rooms we were in, when we did find the rooms and started unpacking, I didnt have any towels in the room, so I then had to go find in the guy in kitchens again to report I had no towels. This spoiled the whole customer experience...
We stayed at the hotel garden to buy drinks and food, £16 for a Pizza and £14 for burger (its was nothing fancy, and served very simply no salads or chips etc) this seems like daylight robbery to me. !
The breakfast, is a basket of food, that's left outside your door in the morning, upon getting up and ready to eat breakfast (08:15hrs) nothing was outside the door, so had to go into the kitchen once again to find some one and ask where my breakfast might be...

Delicious food, friendly and accommodating staff. Loved the live music, decor and gorgeous outside area.
Room was a little basic (no TV etc) but that didn't massively bother us.
4.1
A lovely setting by the river. Modern rooms in an old building. Breakfast hamper was delightful, a picnic in bed. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The very best thing was the quality of the dinner. We ate local venison, really tender and well presented, and fish which was perfectly cooked. Apparently a new chef, and she is clearly a star of n the making.
