This cabin was super clean, very well stocked and great dock and amenities. This is one of our favorite spots on the lake and now our favorite cabin in community. Thank you for a great stay!

Fantastic, quiet cabin right on a section of the lake that is a no wake zone - no fast boats and quiet w a great view. Was great for my kids to explore and paddleboard. The cabin has everything you need to disconnect and enjoy the lake including all the appliances, coffee maker, grill, large deck, comfortable beds, games and books(and large TV that we didnt use). Highly recommended!

This is our third year renting this cabin. This year it had some upgrades including new furniture, a coffee maker, and a microwave. We love staying here and can't wait to go back next summer!

We have been staying at this great little cabin on Smith Mountain Lake for several years now, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. The owners are great to work with, respond quickly to any questions, and each year they have made improvements that make the experience even better. If you have a small family and are looking for an excellent getaway on the lake, this is the place!

Our family really enjoyed our stay. We really appreciated all the little touches provided that made it feel like home. Really beautiful view from the fairly good-sized deck overlooking the lake. Only bit of info I would share that would have been good to know ahead of time is it's a fairly steep walk down to lake (wife and I couldn't agree on either 78, 79, or 80 steps). The steps were very wide and well-maintained, but if you plan on taking a lot of stuff to and from the lake, or have problems with a lot of steps, plan accordingly. The owners were extremely responsive to emails and were more than willing to provide great info about the surrounding areas. We had a brief power outage during our stay (thunderstorm-related) and the owners were very helpful in providing info regarding restoration info, etc. We would definitely recommend this property to others who are looking for a very quiet, relaxing spot.

My family had an excellent stay at this cabin. The cabin was very clean and had all the essentials needed for a great vacation. The shared dock provided the ability to rent a boat for several days and be able to access it directly from the cabin. We also thoroughly enjoyed having the cabin as pet friendly and our dog had a great time as well. We will definitely be requesting this cabin again during future visits to Smith Mountain Lake.

My boyfriend and I came for a long weekend getaway and absolutely loved our time at the cabin! It has the most incredible view of the lake and mountain. We would absolutely stay here again!

Great little cabin for the family. Its located on the east end of the lake, so its a lot more quiet. For the firat few days, we were the only people around, and we basically had the lake cove to ourselves. Beautiful setting to eat breakfast on the deck with the view of the water.
Great hosts as well. Very responsive and took care of everything. Highly recommend!

This is most likely due to the wildlife sanctuary the property is located on, but the ticks were insane! You need to be aware of this and check your dogs and yourselves frequently. I hope the neighborhood is able to do something about this issue. I am not someone who ever complains but it warrants a less than perfect review. The only reason I did not give 5 stars for everything. Otherwise, I highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I were looking for somewhere quiet in the woods away from everything to just relax. The cabin was beyond what we hoped for. The view was beautiful, the cabin had everything we could need. Not even the rain could ruin our visit, we open the door and watched the rain on the lake. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time but the VRBO mobile app dies not work on Android. Host and home were great with friends staying a couple cabins down. Could not have been better. Only issue is VRBO mobile app.

We booked this as a staycation for my daughter and new husband on their wedding night. The view is absolutely beautiful and the cabin is so clean! There was one little hiccup which Ken was able to resolve quickly. Ken and Cindy were fantastic answering all my questions and were so easy and kind to deal with. Definitely a place to go again!!

My husband and I had the best experience with this cabin stay. The view was gorgeous and it was so peacefully quiet every day we were there. The only sounds you would hear throughout the day were the birds, the water and the occasional boat passing by. The cabin itself was spotless and they had everything you could need for a long weekend stay available to you. We were able to cook a nice dinner every night and have a nice full breakfast every morning. Oh, and the shampoo/conditioner that was provided smelled AMAZING. We also loved that the hosts &cabin are dog friendly and had little treats/wipes available for our little girl, Mokka. The shared dock was very nice and we were able to load onto our paddleboards with ease. We absolutely loved our stay and we plan on coming back for another getaway in the future!

Everything about this stay was excellent. Ken and Cindy were always prompt to send responses. They even accomodated early entry for us on the day of check-in.
The location of the cabin cannot be any better.
I was especially impressed by the attention to detail that the owners have in stocking up anything and everything that one might need during their stay - from board games to utensils to even a tick-bite kit! They even had 2 kayaks. We did not use those because of the winter though.
The rooms were adequately kept warm, mattresses were good, bathroom was in excellent condition.
Overall, it couldn't have been better. We will definitely go back again.

Cedar Key Cabin #2 was the perfect getaway for my husband and me.
The location is beautiful and so peaceful.
It was nice to look across the lake and have a complete view of nature (no houses).
The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. There was no need to leave. We actually decided to stay in and cook all meals there. That is a first for us. We usually eat out.
The hosts were very responsive, kind and accommodating. They allowed us to change our dates last minute due to a family emergency.
We have stayed in several nice homes at SML, but this one was perfect for us and is by far a favorite.
We definitely plan to return.

Magical place to visit during the fall! The deck has the most amazing views of the lake and is the perfect spot for morning yoga! Cabin felt inviting and cozy. Everything was perfect!! Thank you to the hosts for providing such a lovely property!

Lovely cabin for a fall weekend or a summer vacation week. Very clean, well outfitted for cooking and a beautiful view. We didn't bring the dogs this time but it would be ideal for dogs with its enclosed deck. Comfortable beds and furniture as well.

Enjoyed the views and the comfortable beds. We enjoyed meals on the deck. Had a great hike at the nearby state park. Did a little kayaking and a quick cool swim.

Very impressed with the place. Attention to detail in regard to dog supplies. Communication was excellent. Well stocked kitchen so all we needed to do was bring our food. Love to come again for a relaxing stay to fish and kayak more.

The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. Beautiful and peaceful lake. I enjoyed watching the squirrels and saw a few deer. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone just looking to get away for some peace and quiet. I’m hoping to go back soon and bring my puppies. Very pet friendly atmosphere.

We enjoyed a great long weekend at Ken and Cindy’s cabin. The views of the lake from the porch are breathtaking, as are the stars at night. The lake is very calm, allowing us to have peaceful kayak and paddle board excursions. The cabin is not big, but it was perfect for me and my husband. The kitchen is perfectly outfitted with everything you need to prepare meals- even a crock pot and casserole dishes! Ken and Cindy were excellent hosts and provided almost instant answers to all our questions. We loved that kayaks were provided and our dog was welcome.

The Cabin on Cedar Key was a perfect respite! We loved the wooded setting right on the lake in a small, private community. The cabin had everything we needed for two - a well-appointed kitchenette, a comfortable bed, and views from every window. We enjoyed swimming from the dock in the no wake cove and having meals on the large deck overlooking the lake. We would definitely stay again!

This is the perfect cottage on the lake! Exactly what is
described by owner. Nice lake access with dock. Lovely big deck that overlooks the lake. And totally dog friendly.
Cabin was well stocked with essentials. Beds were very comfortable. Air kept us nice and cool.
Area was quiet even with neighbors close by.
Nice access to winery’s. We will be booking again for next year. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. We had a great time.
