A haven of peace in a hectic city

This is a great place to stay to explore Jerusalem and very comfortable to rest afterwards.

Full of charm and character, lovely rooms, plus friendly, obliging staff. A calm, relaxing retreat, with iconic attractions close at hand. Adored browsing bookshop and soaking up atmosphere. Can't wait to return.

Secluded - the bar restaurant

We stayed in a suite that looked nothing like the online pictures…very deceiving. Room was small for what we paid. We were a little disappointed. Restaurant staff was rude - eat somewhere else. The outside bar however was great.

Location was great as was the food with very generous portions. The central garden was lovely and the lady in charge at the desk moved us from the first room in an annex into a nicer one of the same price in the main building very graciously. T

There was a slight air of faded grandness. One of the plug points near the bed didn’t work, the TV was hung at a slight angle, a balcony door was jammed shut. After arriving and going through security there was no help or direction. When I went to look for something I’d dropped on the bathroom floor the area under the sink was thick with dust

it’s heritage

This hotel is beautiful. Very green and cosy, full of historical photos and artefacts. Staff is friendly and caring. The room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was delicious, especially the shakshuka.

It is a bit far away from most interesing places (the Old city and majority of the restaurants). Car is essential. We have stayed in the hotel during Ramadan and it was a challenge to get a taxi to get to the restaurants on time.

Alex the tech guy loaned me 2 adapters so I could connect my computers to the outlets. I had 2 different computers. The wifi was strong so I could do my work. A breakfast box was prepared for me.

My room had no view and it felt claustrophobic. The dinner at the restaurant was not good- some kind of risotto and cheese dish- very heavy.

The breakfast was the best ever. The staff the most friendly I ever met. The place is so historical and global. Even the gatekeeper makes you feel special. The shops on the area fantastic
