Connor on the front desk was great!!
This place needs cleaning up. It tired.. dated and needs some love. It could be a great spot if Green King had the inclination to spend some money and make this place a location for people to really want to visit

Stunning hotel but you need a car
We had our hotel cancelled two days before traveling to Leicester for radio 2 weekend so had to find last minute hotel,we have no car, fortune in taxis, Saturday and Sunday night very noisy people next door they didn't shut up shouting until after 2am,then they starting trying adjoining door banging on it glad to get home for sleep, had to get lot's of taxis,no bus stop nearby

Breakfast options very good - we were unsure about the “American” option on booking. It gave us the continental option with added choices from the main menu & was piping hot & very tasty

Lack of sockets by bed. Could not get ipad close to bed for sleeping entertainment. However proved to be unimportant as no internet due to “blown fuses”!?

Lovely setting in an old, interesting building with Knights Templar connections. River running past the hotel.
The annexe rooms needed painting and refurbishing.

Beautiful building with lots of history. Great grounds and seating area in garden, must re-book in the Summer! Staff were pleasant, managed an early check in despite them being busy preparing for a wedding. Didn’t eat there but restaurant looked nice

Walls are paper thin. You can hear pretty much everything next door. I heard next door's tv, and I heard them having a shower.

Breakfast was ok as expected. Evening meal again was ok nothing special but enjoyed it.
There was a function on in the bar, however there only appeared to be 3 front of house staff on. The gentleman doing the bar did a fantastic job. Not enough staff for the restaurant and the bar in my opinion.

Everything was excellent, staff, breakfast, dinners and service. only slight mix up with rooms as I had booked 3 rooms 1 for 2 adults, 1 room with 1 adult, 1 child and 1 infant and 3rd room for 2 adults and 1 child, only on arrival the third room did not have the extra bed for the child. but the staff were very good and added the extra bed.
The stairs! my partner is 73 and I I'm 67 and our rooms were right on top floor and it was hard for us to go up and down with infant and 2 children, perhaps going forward, think a bout adding a lift.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast.
The room was hot for sleeping and we were unable to find any controls for the temperature. The window needed a shoe in it to keep open!

Breakfast service was slow & not quite what we ordered. Had to chase up the tea & no toast brought out with the ‘full English’. Just felt a bit disorganised in general.

Comfy bed, great shower, quiet room in out building.
Could do with a revamp, a little dated. Paintwork needs attention & tv was on the desk blocking the mirror but with a TV bracket on the wall unused!
